Eagles | Ryan Mahaffey hired by Eagles    Thu Feb 5, 10:26 AM

Green Bay Packers wide receivers coach Ryan Mahaffey was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday, Feb. 5, as run game coordinator and tight ends coach.

Footballguys view: The Packers coaching staff has been raided by Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and Dolphins Jeff Hafley since they got promotions on new teams. Mahaffey has experience coaching multiple position groups and is considered to be on the rise in the profession. The Eagles already lost long time offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, and now they will lose tight end coach Jason Michael, which could be a signal that they won't bring back Dallas Goedert in free agency, as the two were considered to be close.

Eagles | Jalen Hurts terrific at home in 2025    Wed Feb 4, 07:30 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw 14 touchdowns and only one interception at home during the 2025 regular season.

Footballguys view: Hurts is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he's great at home. With three years left on his deal, the Eagles will push for another Super Bowl run in 2026. Hurts should continue being a dominant passer at home.

Eagles | Philly hires Sean Mannion as OC    Thu Jan 29, 05:41 PM

Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion has been hired by the Philadelphia Eagles as their new offensive coordinator.

Footballguys view: A former quarterback, Mannion now gets to work with Jalen Hurts. Expect more West Coast/Shanahan concepts from Mannion's offense. He's played for Sean McVay (a Mike Shanahan disciple), and worked with Kevin O'Connell (Vikings) and Matt LaFleur (Packers). With wide-zone running and play-action passing a hallmark of those systems, expect the Eagles to be more explosive on offense in 2026.

Eagles | Sean Mannion set to interview for OC vacancy    Tue Jan 27, 01:32 PM

Green Bay Packers QB coach Sean Mannion will interview for the offensive coordinator vacancy of the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

Footballguys view: This will be Mannion's second interview with the club, as he previously met virtually with the Eagles. Mannion, 33, just finished his first year as Green Bay's quarterbacks coach. A Rams third-round pick in 2015, Mannion played for the Rams from 2015 to 2018. He also played for Seattle and Minnesota. In Green Bay, Mannion has worked closely with Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Mannion has also coached backup Malik Willis, who has played well when called upon. The Eagles are searching for their fifth offensive coordinator under head coach Nick Sirianni after moving on from Kevin Patullo after one season.

Eagles | Jerrod Johnson to talk to Eagles    Mon Jan 26, 11:11 AM

Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson will interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for their offensive coordinator post.

Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com noted, Johnson also spoke to the team in 2024, but they wound up hiring Kellen Moore at that time. Moore spent a year in the job and parlayed a Super Bowl win into the Saints' head coaching job. Kevin Patullo called the offensive plays in 2025, but was relieved of those duties after the team's playoff loss to the 49ers. Johnson has been the quarterbacks coach in Houston since 2023. He has never held a coordinator position.

Eagles | Declan Doyle removes name from PHI job    Mon Jan 26, 11:09 AM

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle removed his name from the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator opening.

Footballguys view: Doyle returns to Chicago for his second season as the team's offensive coordinator. He was brought in upon Ben Johnson's hiring in 2025, having previously served as the tight ends coach for the Broncos. Though Johnson called the plays for the Bears, Doyle's presence helped elevate the offense and keep the players sharp on their assignments. As SBNation suggests, in his second year as offensive coordinator, Doyle will be tasked with maintaining that level of continuity on the Bears' offense, while also managing the development of such young players as Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and Colston Loveland.

Eagles | Frank Smith interviews with Eagles    Mon Jan 26, 09:39 AM

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith interviewed with the Philadelphia Eagles for the same spot in their organization.

Footballguys view: The Eagles, who continue their search for Kevin Patullo's replacement, had an interest in Mike McDaniel, and with the former Dolphins coach expected to join the Chargers, they'll settle for the next best thing. Smith joined the Miami Dolphins as offensive coordinator in 2022. In 2024, Smith helped the offense drastically improve, and Miami was one of only four teams with three players with 700-plus receiving yards and the only team with three players with 75-plus receptions. Smith was voted as the NFL's top offensive coordinator in a 2023 NFLPA player survey.

Eagles | Declan Doyle sought for PHI interview    Thu Jan 22, 12:48 PM

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle was requested for an interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for their offensive coordinator post.

Footballguys view: It's not a lateral move for Doyle if he were to take this job as he doesn't call plays with the Bears. With the breakout season from Caleb Williams, the Eagles would be hoping to get the same from Jalen Hurts in 2026.

Former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll interviewed for the offensive coordinator position with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday, Jan. 20.   Eagles | Philadelphia requests to interview Bobby Slowik    Sun Jan 18, 07:37 PM

Miami Dolphins senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik is a target of the Philadelphia Eagles for their offensive coordinator position. The Eagles have requested an interview.

Footballguys view: Slowik, the former offensive coordinator of the Texans for two seasons, joined the Dolphins as the senior pass game coordinator in 2025. In his first year as Houston's offensive coordinator in 2023, the Texans ranked seventh in the NFL in yards per game (245.5) and second in pass plays over 25 yards (41). Slowik played a key role in C.J. Stroud's development during his rookie season and helped him have a historic one. Year 2 didn't go as well, and Slowik was fired. But a year working under Mike McDaniels in Miami has him back on the radar.

Eagles | Kevin Patullo out as offensive coordinator    Tue Jan 13, 03:51 PM

The Eagles have informed OC Kevin Patullo they're making a change at OC following Sunday's wild-card loss to the 49ers, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday. Rapoport and Garafolo reported there's a chance Patullo could remain on Sirianni's coaching staff.

Footballguys view: Following their Super Bowl LIX victory, a triumph marked by a 40-point explosion, the Eagles lost offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints' head coaching job and promoted Patullo to replace him. The move proved to be a costly misstep. Patullo struggled to find his footing as the team's play-caller, resulting in Philly finishing 19th in scoring and 24th in yards -- both easily the worst results on Nick Sirianni's five-year tenure as head coach. From 2022-24, the Eagles never finished worse than seventh in scoring or eighth in yards.

Eagles | Dallas Goedert not a lock to return in 2026    Mon Jan 12, 01:04 AM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is set to become a free agent this offseason, and he'll only be back with the Eagles if he's willing to sign a 'team-friendly' deal, in the opinion of ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Footballguys view: It looked like Goedert wasn't going to return for the 2025 season, but then the two sides finally reached an agreement on a one-year deal to bring him back for his 8th NFL season. The 31-year-old in 2025 played in 15 games and caught 60 passes for 591 yards and a career-high 11 touchdown catches. He had two more touchdowns in the playoff game, but cost will be a determining factor in a potential return.

Eagles | Defending champ Philadelphia eliminated at home    Sun Jan 11, 07:53 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-35 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in an NFC Wild Card game loss against the San Francisco 49ers, while running five times for 14 yards. RB Saquon Barkley rushed 26 times for a game-high 106 yards with three receptions for 25 yards on six targets. RB Tank Bigsby had four runs for 19 yards, with RB Will Shipley chipping in with a 6-yard grab on his lone touch and target. WR DeVonta Smith posted team bests with eight receptions and 70 yards on 11 targets, while new dad TE Dallas Goedert had four receptions for 33 yards and a TD, while also running for a 1-yard score. WR A.J. Brown had three receptions for 25 yards on seven targets, but he also had a key drop in the fourth quarter and a shouting match with head coach Nick Sirianni during the game. WR Darius Cooper had a 9-yard catch on his only target, while WR Jahan Dotson didn't have a catch on his lone target. DB Quinyon Mitchell had two interceptions and three passes defensed, while DE Jalen Carter had three total stops, a solo tackle, a sack, a tackle for loss and a QB hit.

Footballguys view: The Eagles offense has been a dysfunctional family all season, and it ended up being the downfall of the 2025 season for the team. AJ Brown had a terrible drop with the team driving to win the game, and was seen having a heated exchange with head coach Nick Sirianni on the sideline earlier in the game. That won't quiet speculation that he gets dealt in the offseason. The 49ers were without their starting linebackers, but the Eagles underachieved on offense all day. It could lead to both the firing of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the hiring of 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as a head coach in this firing/hiring cycle - but not for at least one more week. Dallas Goedert is also a free agent, so there could be some major changes for this offense in the offseason.

Eagles | Dallas Goedert on track to play    Fri Jan 9, 04:10 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 9, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Footballguys view: After a full practice, Goedert should play on Sunday without any restrictions. His fantasy value has been heavily skewed by touchdowns this year, but his ability to consistently find the end zone makes him an appealing option against the 49ers.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Tank Bigsby rushed 16 times for 75 and a touchdown in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders, and he posted a 31-yard reception on his lone target.

Footballguys view: As the Philly Voice noted, operating behind Saquon Barkley on the depth chart, Bigsby makes something out of it with shiftiness and a willingness to lower his shoulder and charge through despite his 5-11, 215-pound frame. He can be handy for the Eagles going into the playoffs as a 1-2 punch with Barkley. Obviously, he can absorb punishment, which lessens it for Barkley on another potentially lengthy postseason run, while being able to make a play or two himself, too. Head coach Nick Sirianni and coordinator Kevin Patullo have to get him out there.
