For the second straight day, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown did not practice today due to the sprained ankle that he suffered on Thanksgiving.
Footballguys view: Lions coach Dan Campbell said earlier Tuesday that he knows if St. Brown can play against the Cowboys on Thursday, he will. St. Brown didn't sound as optimistic. "It's still up in the air," he said of his chances. "I'm trying to be out there for the guys, for my teammates, but I couldn't answer that question right now." Again, most reporting over the last five days points to the star wideout sitting out Thursday in hopes of getting back to take on the Rams in Week 15. But we're following this one closely and will report back as needed.

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) will not practice on Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Footballguys view: While it's been widely reported that St. Brown will miss Thursday night's game against the Cowboys, the Lions aren't closing the door just yet. St. Brown suffered a low-ankle sprain in the first quarter on Thanksgiving Day. Updates since then have leaned on the positive side, but he's still been characterized as week-to-week. Again, the expectation is that St. Brown won't play against Dallas, but HC Dan Campbell told reporters on Tuesday he knows if St. Brown can play, he will. We'll keep watching, but St. Brown investors should already have a plan in place for a replacement.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Nov. 28 that St. Brown sustained a low ankle sprain. He is considered week-to-week and isn't expected to play against the Cowboys on Thursday. If St. Brown misses this one, he'll have had 17 days off before the Lions play the Rams in Week 15. If St. Brown does not aggravate his ankle in practice, he may only end up missing one game.

Link to storyDetroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) is not expected to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list due to the sprained ankle he suffered on Thanksgiving against the Green Bay Packers. Updating a previous report, retired C Frank Ragnow (hamstring) will not be rejoining the Detroit Lions this year after he failed his physical Friday, Nov. 28. His medical exam revealed a Grade 3 hamstring strain that would have kept him from participating during the regular season.
Link to storyDetroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown's diagnosis of a low-ankle sprain with no structural damage was confirmed by an MRI and other tests, according to sources, and he is expected to miss a week or two.

Detroit Lions TE Zach Horton reverted back to the practice squad Friday, Nov. 28, after being on the active roster for the Week 13 game.
Link to storyDetroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) is believed to have suffered a low-ankle sprain. He's still being evaluated, but the Lions play just one game in the next 16 days.
Footballguys view: The hope is that St. Brown misses only next week before returning in Week 15. Even then, that timing complicates things, as Week 15 is the first round of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues. If that's his first game back, there will naturally be concerns about potential limitations. With the fantasy regular season running out of runway, every missed game carries real weight. St. Brown's toughness isn't in question. He's played through difficult injuries before. He's pushing to return soon, but fantasy managers will likely need a replacement for next week. In his absence, Jameson Williams gets a significant bump. Kalif Raymond is dealing with an ankle injury of his own, but if he's active next week and St. Brown isn't, Raymond should see near a full-time role.

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) may miss a week or two because of the ankle injury he suffered during the Week 13 game, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Footballguys view: Lions fans didn't get the win against the Packers, and Fantasy GMs lose St. Brown for a week or two. We'll know more about his status next week. The Lions are preparing to play the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football in Week 14.

Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams hauled seven of his 10 targets for 144 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. He also lost five yards on his only carry.
Footballguys view: Williams had a big game for Fantasy GMs who trusted him in Week 13. However, he let his team down with a key drop on fourth down when the Lions were down by 10 and trying to make a comeback.
Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery carried eight times for 32 yards and a touchdown and caught both of his targets for 16 yards in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.
Footballguys view: Montgomery got 8 carries compared to the 20 carries for Jahmyr Gibbs. He was targeted twice and caught them both. The Lions need to get back on the winning track to get into a Wild Card spot.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 20 times for 68 yards and caught three of his four targets for 18 yards in Week 13 versus the Green Bay Packers.
Footballguys view: Gibbs got plenty of work on Thanksgiving, but the Packers were sure to slow him down. He's a key piece and a dangerous weapon on the Lions offense, so Gibbs gets plenty of attention from opposing defenses.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff finished 20-of-26 for 256 yards and two touchdowns in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. Goff also broke loose for a 24-yard run on his only rush attempt.

Footballguys view: With Wright already filling in for an injured Sam LaPorta, the Lions now turn to Ross Dwelley at the position. He's not much of a fantasy option, but we could see more work for WR Jameson Williams instead.

Footballguys view: As Pro Football Focus noted, the Lions elevated tight end Anthony Firkser from the practice squad before Sunday's win and ended up playing one more snap than Ross Dwelley, making him their second tight end. It's possible Firkser would be the Lions' primary tight end if Wright's injury keeps him from playing Thursday.
