New England Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte has officially reported to New England's mandatory minicamp, according to a source on Tuesday, June 9.
Footballguys view: This news was expected despite Boutte being absent from the Patriots' voluntary workouts last month. Boutte mostly played at the same outside receiving spot that A.J. Brown does. The team may move Boutte around the formation (Footballguy Matt Waldman believes Boutte would be great as a slot receiver) to find a way to get him on the field in the last year of his rookie contract. Boutte could also be a midseason trade candidate if the Patriots can't find snaps for him and want to recoup something before he leaves in free agency.

Dallas Cowboys QBs Joe Milton and Sam Howell are getting equal reps in the competition for the backup job behind Dak Prescott.
Footballguys view: Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said today that Howell and Milton are in an open competition to be the No. 2 quarterback in Dallas. "It's going to be a fun competition," Schottenheimer said. The Cowboys acquired Milton from the Patriots in a trade last year. He played in four games behind Prescott, completing 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, with a touchdown and two interceptions. Howell signed with the Cowboys in March after spending last season as a backup for the Eagles. He has started 18 games in his career, all for the Commanders. We'll monitor this one all summer.

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders is working with the first team offense during mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 9.
Footballguys view: Sanders' late push during OTAs has complicated things here. His improved command of the offense and more efficient play have given head coach Todd Monken reason to keep the competition open. Most of the offseason, Deshaun Watson appeared to have the edge over Sanders based on his superior athleticism and experience. But Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com reports that Sanders seemed to have narrowed the gap the past couple of weeks with his grasp of the playbook and increased efficiency. This development could lead Monken to hold off on naming or even determining his QB1 until sometime during training camp.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen says the competition for the backup job between QBs Anthony Richardson Sr. and Riley Leonard remains 'back and forth right now.'
Footballguys view: The Colts have a full quarterback room for the foreseeable future after Richardson's time spent on the trade block failed to land any suitors during the 2026 NFL Draft. So, he'll continue to battle Leonard for the spot behind Daniel Jones, who is working back from his Achilles rehab. SI.com believes that Leonard is viewed as the better fit for this version of Steichen's offense with Jones at the helm, and the subsequent backup of the future, whereas Richardson remains the unrefined, oft-injured project that could be fun to fix.
Anthony Richardson Sr. player page
Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce (ankle) and DL DeForest Buckner (neck) will not participate in OTAs, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Pierce underwent offseason surgery on a lingering ankle injury, but should be back on the field for training camp. Pierce, who's led the NFL in yards per catch the last two seasons, has become a well-rounded wideout, able to attack different levels of the field in a variety of ways. With Michael Pittman Jr. traded to the Steelers, Pierce is set to serve as the team's top downfield weapon. He's being drafted as WR33. Like Pierce, Buckner is focused on being ready for training camp.
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (personal reasons) is not practicing at the team's OTA session on Tuesday, June 9.
Footballguys view: Lamb's absence shouldn't be of any concern. As SI.com suggests, he'll likely be back at practice in no time, barring injury. We'll watch for more on that, but there's nothing here that changes Lamb's 2026 expectations or draft stock.

Miami Dolphins QB Malik Willis looked 'more comfortable' with the team's offense this week, according to head coach Jeff Hafley.
Footballguys view: In fact, Hafley, who was around Willis for the last two seasons with the Packers, told reporters on Tuesday that Willis has "looked as good as he's looked since I've known him." Willis, 27, played well when called upon as Green Bay's backup over the last two seasons. In his 11 appearances with three starts, Willis completed 79 percent of his passes for 972 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 261 yards with three TDs in that span. That rushing equity makes him an interesting prospect at his current QB21 ADP.
Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson's four-year deal is worth up to $110.5 million, but the base value is $97.5 million over five years. The deal includes $18.5 million in incentives related to Pro Bowls, catches, receiving yards and touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Watson got a $23 million average in new money, but because he had one year left on his deal, the real average is lower. Additionally, the Packers' wide receiver had only $31 million in guarantees. That's the signing bonus, and there are no guarantees beyond it. That said, $23 million is good money based on what Watson has done so far as an NFL player. As AtoZSport's Wendell Ferreira suggested, even if the Packers are treating Watson as a real WR1, his deal looks more like high-end WR2 money, and that's a fair assessment of his market value.
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (foot) recently underwent a procedure on a foot injury he suffered during the offseason but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to a source.
Footballguys view: As USA Today notes, Rodriguez was the lone outside addition made by the Jaguars this offseason during the free agency period. He will be competing with Bhayshul Tuten for the top spot on the Jaguars' running back depth chart, but regardless of who holds the RB1 title, both players will be big factors on offense this season. But Rodriguez will need to recover as expected. We'll be watching for more on that when training camp opens.
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks needs to stay healthy, but could potentially become the lead back in Carolina over Chuba Hubbard, in the opinion of Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com on Monday, June 8.
Footballguys view: Wolfe identified Brooks as the team's wild-card player. As USA Today's Anthony Rizzuti reminded readers, two ACL tears, both to the same knee, have limited Brooks to only three NFL games since he was selected in the second round of the 2024 draft. But Brooks, over the past few weeks, was able to fully participate in organized team activities for the first time in his career. How Brooks will fit into that backfield with Hubbard and Trevor Etienne will be one of the things to watch as the Panthers head into training camp next month.

Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love has received work as a kick returner during offseason workouts, but special teams coordinator Michael Ghobiel indicated that Love may only be an emergency option for the position.
Footballguys view: Please note the "an emergency option" portion of that news. The Cardinals didn't use the third pick overall to have Love work as a return man. He's there to be the lead back in Mike LaFleur's offense. Will he share with Tyler Allgeier, James Conner and/or Trey Benson. To some degree. But Love's RB13 ADP isn't out of line and a top-10 fantasy finish this season is in his range of outcomes.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Emari Demercado has consistently been the RB2 behind free-agent acquisition Kenneth Walker III in solo drills and also, 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills in OTAs, according to Charles Goldman of AtoZ Sports on Monday, June 8.
Footballguys view: Goldman reminded readers that Demercado has been written off a bit because of the addition of Emmett Johnson in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, the coaching staff still appears to be very high on him and his abilities. Things can obviously change throughout the course of an offseason, but Goldman believes that after OTAs it feels like Demercado is closer to RB2 in Kansas City than any other prospect.
Free-agent WR Brandin Cooks (Bills) said he plans to play in the 2026 season.
Footballguys view: According to ProFootballRumors.com, Cooks, who revealed the news on an interview with SiriusXM Radio, didn't indicate which teams have shown interest in him. The six-time 1,000-yard wideout ended 2025 with the Bills, who became his sixth team after the Saints waived him in November, and the sides were still in contact earlier in the offseason. It is unknown if the Bills remain open to re-signing Cooks after trading a second-round pick to the Bears for DJ Moore and spending a fourth-rounder on rookie Skyler Bell.

Free-agent K B.T. Potter has reportedly signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source on Monday, June 8. The Buccaneers have also waived P Aidan Laros.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks WR Levi Wentz was waived Monday, June 8.
Link to storyUndrafted free-agent WR Malick Meiga (Coastal Carolina) signed with the Carolina Panthers Monday, June 8. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also waived TE Heinrich Haarberg.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett officially reported for the mandatory minicamp Monday, June 8.
Footballguys view: Again, it's not clear how much on-field work Brissett will do after missing all the team's voluntary OTA sessions. Rookie Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew worked with the first team offense in Brissett's absence. We'll continue to monitor the situation, but it's widely believed the two sides will come to an agreement before the season starts. The question will be how much work Brissett does until then.

New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo (ankle) is participating in practice Monday, June 8.
Footballguys view: Skattebo, who said mid-May that he expects to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season, is about eight months removed from the dislocated right ankle that limited him to eight games as a rookie. As CBSSports.com suggests, while it doesn't yet appear that the 2025 fourth-round pick has been cleared for full team drills, seeing him move fluidly on the field in individual work is encouraging. We'll continue to watch for more, but Skattebo being fully cleared for the start of training camp is within the range of outcomes here.
New York Jets WR Quentin Skinner (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation Monday, June 8, according to a source.
Link to storyFree-agent WR Jalen Walthall (Texans) agreed to terms with the New York Jets Monday, June 8, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyAtlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) may be cleared to participate in team drills before the end of offseason workouts, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Penix has been able to take part in seven-on-seven drills as part of his recovery.
Footballguys view: The Falcons will wrap up their offseason program with a mandatory minicamp next week. Penix is returning from last season's torn ACL. Stefanski also said that Penix has hit every milestone in his rehab schedule to this point in the offseason. Tua Tagovailoa is the other quarterback option for the Falcons. This is a situation we'll be monitoring through training camp.
Free-agent WR James Proche (Titans) is participating in a tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles this week.
Footballguys view: Proche spent three years in Baltimore before bouncing on and off the Browns' roster from 2023 to 2024. Proche played for the Titans last season. One factor potentially working in Proche's favor is that he has a track record of contributing on special teams. Part of the impetus for the tryout could be related to the Eagles currently being a little short-handed at receiver. Makai Lemon is reportedly expected to miss practices this week due to a hamstring injury. Britain Covey did not participate in the Eagles' media-attended OTA practice last week. The team also waived Brandon Hayes on Friday evening.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett plans to report to minicamp this week despite a contract dispute.
Footballguys view: Because it's a mandatory minicamp, Brissett was at risk of being fined a total of $107,911 if he didn't show up. He's missed all the team's voluntary OTA sessions up to this point. Brissett will report as the Cardinals' presumed starter, but it's uncertain how much on-field work he will do. Rookie Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew have taken more snaps in Brissett's absence. Brissett wants a restructured contract for this season. His deal currently pays him $4.88 million, with the potential to grow to $5.39 million, of which only $1.5 million is guaranteed.

New England Patriots WR A.J. Brown's 15 receptions of 50-plus yards since the start of the 2019 season are tied for the most in the NFL.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss, the addition of Brown reflects how the Patriots have aggressively reshaped their receiving corps since losing to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, a process that began with the release of leading receiver Stefon Diggs in March. Diggs totaled 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in his one season with the Patriots. As Reiss explained, the 6-1, 226-pound Brown is more of a perimeter target than Diggs, and Brown's history of making big plays adds to the positive vibe here.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten is running better during OTAs this season than he was last year, according to head coach Liam Coen.
Footballguys view: According to SI.com's John Shipley, Tuten looked like he was picking up steam during OTAs. Coen also said Tuten looks like he is more in tune with the scheme now than as a rookie. With veteran Chris Rodriguez Jr. missing time with an unspecified issue, Tuten could use minicamp to solidify himself in the room further. However, it remains to be seen to what extent. We'll certainly be watching. Tuten is currently being drafted as RB25, a price that accounts for both the upside and the uncertain role.
New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson has focused on improving his blocking and receiving during the offseason program.
Footballguys view: A more well-rounded skill set would give the second-year man a better chance of getting more playing time. Henderson played 43% of the offensive snaps last season, second most on the team behind Rhamondre Stevenson (52.9%), but he's being drafted well ahead of his teammate. Henderson is RB21 according to current ADP data. That spot carries a fourth-round price tag. Stevenson is RB29 with a late-sixth-round cost. The Footballguys projections have the two more tightly packed. Henderson is projected for an RB26 finish, while Stevenson's RB28 projection is closer to his ADP. This is a situation worth watching this summer.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin has been able to participate in the offseason program at full strength, according to head coach Todd Bowles. 'Obviously his knowledge of the game helps the younger guys but his route running is sharp, he looks smooth running his routes and he understands the offense very well,' Bowles said. 'We know the playmaker he's going to be for us.'
Footballguys view: Godwin is needed now more than ever as the wide receiver room enters a new era without Mike Evans. A vintage Godwin performance as he works alongside Emeka Egbuka this season can really help get the Tampa Bay offense back to being a top-five unit like it was in 2024, which was the last time the Buccaneers had a winning season, made the playoffs and won the NFC South. Godwin is being drafted as WR40 in Round 7.

New England Patriots TE Eli Raridon has 'growth potential' because of his size and speed, according to tight ends coach Thomas X. Brown. 'There's so much more to kind of be captured from his college tape,' Brown said.
Footballguys view: The Patriots had significant plans for tight end Julian Hill after signing him to a three-year, $15 million deal in March, and coaches were gutted for him after he sustained a season-ending knee injury in practice. Hill's absence could create an expanded opportunity for Raridon, the team's third-round pick from Notre Dame. Raridon has a high athletic ceiling, and the Patriots don't have a receiving tight end of the future. Ideally, Raridon gets time to develop. But opportunity may knock sooner.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR CJ Williams has 'arguably been the top backup receiver' during the offseason program, according to John Shipley of SI.com, and Shipley believes Williams will earn a spot on the receiver depth chart.
Footballguys view: Shipley added that after a few weeks of seeing him on the practice field, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Williams is not a part of the wide receiver depth chart in some fashion or another in 2026. Williams has arguably been the top backup receiver on the practice field so far this offseason program, and each backup quarterback has enjoyed throwing his way. There will be more competition in training camp, but so far, Williams has looked like he is ahead of each of them when it comes to practice field impact.
Miami Dolphins WR Kevin Coleman Jr. has been the team's best rookie receiver and should be the starting slot receiver, in the opinion of Omar Kelly of The Miami Herald.
Footballguys view: As Footballguy Sigmund Bloom suggested, Coleman projects as the most reliable wide receiver in a low-volume pass offense, which isn't worth chasing in rookie drafts.
Denver Broncos TE Caleb Lohner (lower body) is expected to miss the next two weeks of minicamp and organized team activities (OTAs) due to a routine lower-body cleanup procedure this offseason. He is expected to be ready in full for the start of training camp.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles QBs Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee are in a heated battle to serve as the primary backup to starter QB Jalen Hurts. The Eagles could try and trade McKee to a team in need of a quarterback this summer.
Footballguys view: The #3 quarterback will presumably be fifth round pick Cole Payton. He has some Taysom Hill usage potential, but is also a long term project who could be an option down the line if Jalen Hurts doesn't click with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Payton is an elite athlete and would generate a lot of fantasy value with his legs if he ever gets a shot. He also went to North Dakota State, like Eagles Super Bowl Champion Carson Wentz.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert will remain a big part of the offense, and his usage isn't expected to be impacted much despite the departure of WR A.J. Brown (Patriots).
Footballguys view: The Eagles could use more two tight end sets if second round Eli Stowers - a converted quarterback who is almost as impressive athletically as Jets first round pick Kenyon Sadiq, but a more functional receiver with length at the catch point. In any scenario, Goedert will outproduce his ADP, the only question is how much.

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton said he is not worried about sharing targets with WR Jaylen Waddle. 'The targets will come,' Sutton said. 'I always say, the ball is going to find you no matter what, you just need to go out there and do your job.'
Footballguys view: Sutton will be the top red zone target in any scenario, and it is clear that Bo Nix has the best chemistry with Sutton of any of the returning Broncos receivers. Sutton is right that targets will come, especially in key game situations, because he has been so good at doing his job with Denver.
Courtland Sutton player page
Kansas City Chiefs WR Jalen Royals has performed well in his additional reps with the first-team offense during OTAs, according to head coach Andy Reid. 'He looks strong out here and is running well. It's great for him and the quarterbacks to see what he is all about on repeated reps,' Reid said.
Footballguys view: The 2025 fourth round pick was having a good first training camp but knee issues slowed him down at the beginning of the season. He has a similar skillset to Rashee Rice and the team could see him as a future replacement with Rice's unreliable off-field profile. Royals shouldn't be on the waiver wire in dynasty leagues and could become a consideration in redraft leagues if Rice has any problems getting back in action after spending time in jail following knee surgery in May.
Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley could be in line for more working catching the ball out of the backfield, thanks to the departure of WR A.J. Brown (Patriots). He was targeted just 50 times in 2025, and 43 times in 2024. In his final two seasons with the New York Giants, he had 136 total targets. Offensive coordinator Sean Mannion could look to use Barkley more in pass-catching situations to offset the loss of Brown.
Link to storySaquon Barkley player page
Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle is fitting in with his new team, and drawing praise from the coaching staff and teammates for his quick starting and stopping, and for his route running. 'I think his ability to make every route look the same is pretty important,' S Talanoa Hufanga said. 'As a defender, when you can make a 10-yard stop look like a go, a 10-yard dig (route) look like a go, a 10-yard out-route -- it's just, everything looks the same. And it puts pressure on your backpedal, as a DB.'
Footballguys view: Waddle could be a focal point of the Broncos pass offense right away if he and Bo Nix are on the same page and the team is creative with their usage of their big offseason acquisition to push for a Super Bowl while Nix is on a rookie contract. Waddle could get off on the right foot in the season opener against Kansas City, which will likely be #6 pick Mansoor Delane's first NFL start.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs will see a majority of the carries out of the backfield following the trade of RB David Montgomery to the Houston Texans during the offseason. 'He's going to be our bell cow now,' head coach Dan Campbell said. 'We're going to hang our hat on him quite a bit. We're going to do a lot of things we feel like he does well. I've mentioned this before, he can run everything that we've got. He can run every scheme that anybody's ever run.'
Footballguys view: Gibbs is neck and neck with Bijan Robinson for #1 pick in fantasy drafts. Robinson also saw his running mate and sometimes touchdown vulture Tyler Allgeier leave in the offseason, but Gibbs is in the better offense and is trending towards being the most common 1.1 pick this year.
Jahmyr Gibbs player page
New England Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte will be in attendance for the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 9, despite recent trade rumors. He had not been present for the Patriots' voluntary offseason program last month.
Footballguys view: Boutte mostly played at the same outside X receiver spot that AJ Brown occupies. Hopefully the team moves Boutte around the formation (and Brown for that matter) to find a way to get the just turned 24 year old on the field in the last year of his rookie contract. Boutte could also be a midseason trade candidate if the Patriots just can't find snaps for him and want to recoup something before he leaves in free agency.

Arizona Cardinals PK Joshua Karty was released.
Link to storyKansas City Chiefs TE Jake Briningstool (undisclosed) did not participate in the voluntary workout Wednesday, June 3.
Link to storyKansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy has performed well during offseason workouts and seems to be more comfortable entering his third season, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Footballguys view: Worthy can fly down the field with blazing speed, but it takes more than that to make plays at the wide receiver position in the pros. Receivers usually take three years to get going in the NFL, so Worthy is certainly a player who could post better-than-expected numbers in 2026. Wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea said he has been impressed with how Worthy has been catching the ball during workouts.
Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson has been talking with the Falcons about a contract extension, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Both Robinson and Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs are set to get new contracts...and they'll both be resetting the market. Speculation abounds that Gibbs could get rewarded with a deal that pays him around $20 million annually. There is no doubt that Robinson will be in that same ballpark once his new deal is finalized.
