Giants | Darius Slayton limited in practice Fri Nov 28, 04:13 PM
New York Giants WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) was limited in practice on Friday, Nov. 28.
Footballguys view: With Monday night's game, Slayton will have another chance to log a full practice on Saturday. Even if he's active, he's little more than a desperation flex. Fantasy managers relying on him would be wise to start looking elsewhere.

Footballguys view: The Giants play on Monday night against the Patriots. Dart could be out there in Week 13, and Saturday's practice status will be the one to watch. If he can't play, Jameis Winston gets another nod.
Free-agent CB Myles Purchase (Chargers) was signed to the practice squad by the New York Giants on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
Link to storyIndianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will be a strong candidate for the New York Giants' head coaching vacancy in the offseason. He has familiarity and a relationship with general manager Joe Schoen.
Footballguys view: Fantasy investors would prefer an offensive-minded coach, but Empire Sports Media's Anthony Rivardo notes that several reporters and insiders have linked Anarumo to the Giants. Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post took it one step further, recently posting on X that Anarumo is the "slight favorite" for the job at this current moment. Anarumo and Schoen had overlapping years with the Miami Dolphins. Anarumo was a member of Miami's coaching staff from 2012 to 2017, while Schoen was in the Dolphins' front office from 2008 to 2016. Stay tuned.

Link to storyNew York Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen was fired Monday, Nov. 24. Outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen will serve as interim DC.
Footballguys view: The move came after New York (2-10) blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead to the Lions in a 34-27 loss that was capped by a 69-yard touchdown run by the Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs on the first play of overtime. Sunday's loss was the fifth time this season that Bowen's defense allowed at least a 10-point lead to slip away, tying an NFL record. The defense was expected to be the strength of the team entering the season, especially with so much invested in the team's defensive line. But instead of a strength, it was a weakness with Bowen calling the shots.

Link to storyNew York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson set career highs in receptions and receiving yards, finishing with nine catches on 14 targets for 156 yards and a touchdown in a 34-27 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
Footballguys view: As Pro Football Focus noted, the Giants have tried to use several wide receivers this season since Malik Nabers' injury. Robinson has been the clear top receiver since the injury, and he had the best game of his career on Sunday. Robinson became the first Giants player since Hakeem Nicks in 2011 to accomplish that feat. This was his second 100-yard game of the season, which happens to be a contract year. He'll try to build on that against the Patriots on Monday night in Week 13.
New York Giants RB Devin Singletary ran for 47 yards on 14 carries during a 34-27 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 12.

New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed 20 times for 62 yards and caught three passes for 68 yards in a 34-27 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
Link to storyNew York Giants QB Jameis Winston completed 18 of his 36 passes for 366 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 34-27 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 12. He also ran four times for 13 yards and caught a 33-yard touchdown pass.
Footballguys view: As NFL.com noted, "Winston has a near-classic Jameis Winston game." For the most part, Winston was sensational on Sunday, delivering multiple big plays. Winston completed 10 passes of 20-plus yards. On a day he avoided pass rushers, Winston's lone sack of the game came on the final play. Jaxson Dart is likely to return for the team's Week 13 game against the Patriots on Monday Night Football. Winston will return to the bench if so, and await his next opportunity.

New York Giants WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) was limited in practice on Friday, Nov. 21, and no longer appears on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Slayton missed last week's game with a hamstring injury but could end up being the biggest beneficiary of playing with Jameis Winston. Slayton's role as a deep threat pairs well with Winston's gunslinger tendencies. In what is projected to be a trailing game script against the Lions, Slayton has some sneaky flex appeal in deep leagues.

New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 12. QB Jameis Winston will start against the Detroit Lions.
Footballguys view: After exiting Week 10's game with a concussion, Dart will miss his second straight outing. There are concerns about what his usage will look like when he returns. Dart leads all quarterbacks in designed runs, which many are blaming for both his concussion and Brian Daboll's firing. While Mike Kafka will surely prioritize Dart's health, it's in the young quarterback's DNA to run. We'll have to wait at least one more week to see how Dart looks under his new head coach.

New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart (concussion) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 20.
Footballguys view: Dart is trending towards playing in Week 12 against the Lions. He's a runner, and the team isn't going to take that away from him, but it would be nice to see him take fewer hits. Because of Dart's rushing ability, Fantasy GMs can look to him as a potential QB1 on a weekly basis.
New York Giants CB Paulson Adebo (knee), TE Thomas Fidone II (foot), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (illness), CB Cor'Dale Flott (non-injury), CB Rico Payton (illness), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) and LB Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 19. New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart (concussion) will participate in a non-contact practice Wednesday, Nov. 19, and is trending toward returning for Week 12.
Footballguys view: Dart should be out there against the Lions on Sunday. Coming back from a concussion, Dart might be tasked with running less - something that impacts his fantasy value. They may try to proceed with caution, but Dart's legs are going to be a part of what he does. That makes him a low-end QB1 from a fantasy perspective.
New York Giants DE Abdul Carter was benched for the opening series in Week 11 and denied a report that he slept through a walk-through practice last week and said he was getting treatment at the time of the walk-through.

Link to storyNew York Giants QB Jaxson Dart (concussion) is still going through the concussion protocol, according to interim head coach Mike Kafka.
Footballguys view: Kafka was asked whether Dart would be available to start practicing with the Giants on Wednesday. "Jaxson's still in the protocol, so I'm just going to see that through, talk with the medical (staff), and when they give us the thumbs up, then we'll take the next action," Kafka said. Jameis Winston started in Dart's absence Sunday, passing for 201 yards with an interception as well as a lost fumble on the final play of a 27-20 home loss to the Packers. We'll be following Dart's progress closely in coming days. The Giants play in Detroit in Week 12.
