Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson emerged from voluntary minicamp last week with an edge over QB Shedeur Sanders in the starting quarterback competition, according to sources.
| Footballguys view: One year after calling the trade for Watson a "big swing-and-miss," Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said in March that Watson has a "great chance" and a "fresh start" with offensive-minded first-year coach Todd Monken. According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, Monken hopes to declare -- or at least identify -- his starter by the end of Browns minicamp (June 11). Shedeur Sanders has time to close the gap with a former three-time Pro Bowler. But as things stand now, Watson is the most likely candidate to be atop the depth chart heading into training camp. |

As the NFL has trended toward passes closer to the line of scrimmage, Anderson's ceiling outcome makes him a potential fantasy contributor. His landing spot, however, isn't great. The Browns selected wideouts KC Concepcion (with the 24th pick overall on Thursday) and Denzel Boston (in Round 2 on Friday). In addition, Jerry Jeudy heads the list of holdovers at the position. |

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett revised his contract language this week. His option bonuses in 2026, 2027 and 2028 were to be exercised by the 15th day of the league year, which would be March 25 in 2026. In the amended terms, that date has been pushed back to seven days before the regular season each year. The payment of the option bonuses was also modified in a way that has benefit to Garrett. Additionally, Garrett had $8 million of his base salary in 2029 and 2030 moved into roster bonuses early in each league year.
