Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams is set to face the Washington Commanders in Week 6 on Monday, Oct. 13. He'll be working behind a new left ankle, as OT Theo Benedet makes his first career start at the position, and with OT Darnell Wright (elbow) questionable, rookie Ozzy Trapilo might start at right tackle.
Link to storyChicago Bears OT Ozzy Trapilo might get the nod to make his first NFL start at right tackle in Week 6 against the Washington Commanders if OT Darnell Wright (elbow) cannot go.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (thigh) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 11, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.
Footballguys view: The rookie was healthy going into the Bears Week 5 bye, but after a DNP on Thursday it looks like he'll play on Monday night. Monangai is the primary backup behind D'Andre Swift, and he's just looking for more of an opportunity to showcase his skill set. |
Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 11, but is listed as questionable for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Loveland has yet to do much in his young pro career. He was injured a couple of weeks ago and had to miss time to get back on track. We still appreciate him in dynasty leagues, where a longer view is necessary. It would be nice to see him get more involved as his rookie season goes on. |
Chicago Bears DT Grady Jarrett (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 10. CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring), TE Colston Loveland (hip) and OT Darnell Wright (elbow) were limited during practice. DE Austin Booker (knee), S Jaquan Brisker (quadriceps), LB T.J. Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 10.
Footballguys view: The Bears were on bye last week, making Monangai's lack of availability at their first practice concerning. But the rookie is back and will hope to stack another full practice on Saturday. The Bears play Monday night, and Monangai is likely to serve in his regular role as the preferred change-of-pace option behind D'Andre Swift. |
Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 10.
Footballguys view: A limited practice is a good sign after Wednesday's DNP. Loveland will hope to get a full practice in on Saturday before Monday night's game in Washington. Coming out of the bye nursing an injury isn't ideal. Loveland was drafted while recovering from a shoulder injury and has picked up a few others since. Cole Kmet has been playing formidably, but the Bears would probably love to see their top-ten pick start contributing soon. |
Chicago Bears S Jaquan Brisker (quadriceps), DT Grady Jarrett (knee), RB Kyle Monangai (thigh) and OT Darnell Wright (elbow) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring), OG Jonah Jackson (rib) and TE Colston Loveland (hip) were limited during practice. DE Austin Booker (knee), LB T.J. Edwards (hamstring), RB Travis Homer (calf) and PK Cairo Santos (thigh) fully participated in practice. The Bears did not hold a practice Thursday, so the report is an estimation.

Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) is not expected to play in the Week 4 game, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Cole Kmet is a viable streamer this week if you're looking for a tight end from the waiver wire. The Bears have a bye next week, so hopefully their first round pick can return to the field in Week 6. |

Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet (groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.
Footballguys view: Kmet has a firm grasp on the starting tight end role this year despite the drafting of Colston Loveland. Although this matchup has shootout appeal, Kmet might be a tough player to trust in your lineup. The Bears are also without Darnell Wright, their starting left tackle. Kmet might have to stay attached to the line to help with blocking Maxx Crosby off that edge. |

Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift (hip) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.
Footballguys view: Those hoping Friday's report would bring clarity regarding Swift will have to wait a bit longer. Swift has practiced every day this week, but only in a limited capacity. With the Bears playing late, make sure Swift is in your flex spot and you've got an option to pivot to in the afternoon or evening games. |

Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.
Footballguys view: Friday was the first time Loveland practiced this week. There is still hope for Loveland's long-term development, but he's clearly behind Cole Kmet right now, who is behind a handful of receivers. Loveland would need a drastic change in usage before he's in the weekly tight end discussion. |

Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 25.
Footballguys view: Swift is just going to be limited as he's been over the last couple of weeks. He's still the lead back for the Bears, but we still are waiting for rookie RB Kyle Monangai to do more. |

Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Footballguys view: Swift was limited last week too, but he was able to take lead the Bears' backfield in Week 3. It was a quad injury last week, and it's a hip injury now but Swift should once again be the lead back. Rookie Kyle Monangai will continue to serve as a backup. |

Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Link to storyChicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (hip) is not believed to be dealing with a serious injury and may have a chance to play in Week 4, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Despite being the first tight end off the board in this year's past draft, Loveland has not seen as much use as expected. Through three games, he has three receptions on six targets for 43 yards. As The Sporting News suggests, the most likely problem is that the Bears' tight end room features a talented duo, with Loveland stuck firmly behind Cole Kmet, who has four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown scored yesterday, so far this season, with Kmet and four productive WRs ahead of him in the pecking order. Loveland will need time to develop. |
Chicago Bears CB Jaylon Johnson (groin) is expected to undergo surgery on his injured groin but may have a chance to return at some point this season, according to head coach Ben Johnson.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams completed 19-of-28 passes for 298 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, and he ran for 12 yards on five attempts.
Footballguys view: It was arguably the best game of Williams' career. He set personal bests with a 142.6 passer rating while reaching 10.8 yards per attempt. A 65-yard touchdown pass to rookie Luther Burden III traveled 62.1 yards in the air, the longest completion in the NFL this season and the longest of Williams' career. After taking a league-high 68 sacks as a rookie and six sacks in his first two games this season, Williams walked away from Week 3 without being sacked for the first time in his NFL career. Chicago plays the Raiders in Week 4. |
Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III posted three receptions for 101 yards in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, including a 65-yard touchdown. He was targeted three times, and he also had a punt return for 15 yards.
Footballguys view: Coach Ben Johnson made good on his plan to put Burden in position for his first 100-yard receiving day. That 65-yard touchdown pass to Burden traveled 62.1 yards in the air, the longest completion in the NFL this season and the longest completion of Caleb Williams' career. Burden will be a priority waiver-wire addition heading into Week 4. |
