Seattle Seahawks S Nick Emmanwori (ankle) is expected to play in Super Bowl LX, according to head coach Mike MacDonald.
Footballguys view: Emmanwori did not practice on Thursday, but we believe that he'll play because of the size of the stage. That doesn't mean he'll be as effective as he usually is. The Seahawks have been a good run defense despite often playing with light boxes because of Emmanwori's prowess as a run defender. The Patriots will surely test him early and often on Sunday.
Seattle Seahawks S Nick Emmanwori (ankle) suffered an ankle injury late in practice Wednesday, Feb. 4, and will undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury.

Footballguys view: Smith-Njigba is just getting some rest on a Wednesday before the big game. Darnold's oblique injury won't cause him to miss the game, but we'd like to see him fully practicing before the end of the week.

Link to storyDenver Broncos defensive pass game coordinator Jim Leonhard was officially hired by the Buffalo Bills Saturday, Jan. 31, as their new defensive coordinator.
Footballguys view: Leonhard is a fast-riser in coaching circles. He's only coached in the NFL for two seasons with the Broncos, but the former 10-year NFL safety is seen as a bright mind and future head coach. The Broncos' defense, ran by Vance Joseph, taught Leonhard a lot, and now he'll take those lessons to Buffalo. New Bills HC Joe Brady will run the offense, and now Leonhard is entrusted with a defense that needs improvement.

Los Angeles Rams S Kamren Curl is set to be a free agent this offseason, and the chances of the team re-signing him are 'slim,' per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who notes that the team recently signed fellow S Quentin Lake to a large extension and are unlikely to have multiple sizable contracts at that position.

Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold completed 25 of his 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns and gained nine rushing yards on three carries in a 31-27 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. RB Kenneth Walker III rushed 19 times for 62 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 49 yards, and RB George Holani served as the backup, rushing three times for four yards and gaining 27 yards on three receptions. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was Darnold's top target, catching 10 of his 12 targets for 153 yards and a touchdown. WR Cooper Kupp chipped in four receptions for 36 yards and a score, and WR Rashid Shaheed's lone catch went for 51 yards. TE AJ Barner finished with two catches for 13 yards, and WR Jake Bobo hauled in a 17-yard touchdown. LB Ernest Jones led the way for the defense, finishing with a team-high 8 tackles, including six solo stops. DL DeMarcus Lawrence recorded Seattle's only sack, and CB Riq Woolen broke up a pair of passes.
Footballguys view: Though the Seahawks' vaunted defense was solid, it was the play of Darnold and Smith-Njigba that carried the day. It was fitting that Darnold starred in this one after leading Seattle to a 14-3 record and the NFC's No. 1 seed during the regular season. Still, there were questions about his big-game ability. But now, Darnold has Seattle in the biggest game of all in a season that did not begin with Super Bowl expectations. The Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX.

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 22 of his 35 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns and gained 16 rushing yards on two carries in a 31-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game. RB Blake Corum gained a team-high 55 rushing yards on nine carries and caught three passes for 24 yards, and RB Kyren Williams rushed 10 times for 39 yards and had two receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown. WR Puka Nacua was open early and often, catching nine passes for 165 yards and a touchdown, and WR Davante Adams hauled in four passes for 89 yards and a score. TE Colby Parkinson finished with 62 receiving yards on three receptions, and TE Tyler Higbee caught his only target for 12 yards. LB Omar Speights recorded a team-high 11 tackles, including seven solo stops, and S Kamren Kinchens, DE Jared Verse and DL Braden Fiske all recorded a sack.
Footballguys view: The Rams outgained the Seahawks 479 to 396, but Seattle was 4-of-5 in the red zone and had the only takeaway. The Rams were only 1-for-8 on third down. Stafford, who is a finalist for NFL MVP, threw a 9-yard touchdown to Williams, a 2-yarder to Davante Adams, and a 34-yarder to Nacua, who was named a finalist for the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award. Beyond that, even if head coach Sean McVay loses an assistant or two in the current hiring cycle, the Rams are well-positioned for continued success in 2026.

Baltimore Ravens special teams coordinator Chris Horton is being hired by the New York Giants as their special teams coordinator and assistant head coach, according to sources.

Denver Broncos defensive pass game coordinator and assistant head coach Jim Leonhard does not have an official interview set with the Green Bay Packers for its defensive coordinator job just yet. However, the hope is both sides can meet after the AFC Championship Game. Leonhard starred with the University of Wisconsin, and as a Packers player.
Footballguys view: If/when Broncos DC Vance Joseph is hired by the Cardinals to be their head coach, Leonhard is next in line to take over the defense in Denver. Even though he has strong ties to Wisconsin, Leonhard may stay to continue his coaching career under Sean Payton. Leonhard is seen as a future head coach in this league.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is a target of the Las Vegas Raiders for their head-coaching vacancy. The team wants a younger, offensive coach, and Kubiak fits that bill. He has already completed a virtual interview with the organization, but he is expected to have an in-person interview after the NFC Championship Game.
Footballguys view: Rumblings have the Raiders interested in an offensive-minded head coach, and Kubiak is arguably the hottest head coaching candidate remaining in the postseason. Kubiak runs a West Cost/Shanahan system, and that would elevate the quarterback play while leaning on wide-zone rushing concepts. Anyone taking over the Raiders gets a stud tight end (Brock Bowers) and running back (Ashton Jeanty) to craft an offense around.

Green Bay Packers CB Trevon Diggs was released on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Footballguys view: Diggs was claimed off waivers in late December after the Cowboys released him. But he did not make an impact for the club. While Diggs played 33 defensive snaps in the regular-season finale against Minnesota -- during which the Packers rested their starters -- he was on the field for just one snap in the postseason loss to Chicago. Though he led the league with 11 interceptions in 2021, Diggs has played just 22 games since the 2022 season. We'll be watching to see what the future might hold.

Chicago Bears S Jaquan Brisker is expected to have an 'outside market' that 'prices him out of Chicago,' in the opinion of Dan Graziano.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 20 of his 42 passes for 258 yards in a 20-17 overtime win over the Chicago Bears in the Divisional Round. RB Kyren Williams rushed for a team-high 87 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries and added four grabs four 30 yards. RB Blake Corum was held in check, finishing with six carries for 19 yards. WR Puka Nacua and TE Colby Parkinson tied for the team lead with 56 receiving yards. Parkinson caught three passes, and Nacua had five receptions to go along with two carries for six yards. Davante Adams was limited to two catches for 24 yards, and TE Tyler Higbee had just one catch for 27 yards. WR Jordan Whittington finished with two receptions for 35 yards. S Kamren Curl turned in a standout performance, logging a team-high 13 tackles, including seven solo stops, and an interception. LB Nathan Landman finished with 10 tackles, including five solo stops, and CB Cobie Durant had two tackles, three passes defensed and a pair of interceptions.
Footballguys view: The Rams' offense -- a unit that led the league in offensive DVOA during the regular season -- struggled for much of their 20-17 divisional-round win against the Chicago Bears. Through three quarters, the Rams had 174 yards, their fewest of the season, according to ESPN Research. But the Rams' defense stepped up when they needed to most, with safety Kam Curl intercepting a Caleb Williams pass in overtime to give Los Angeles the ball back at their 22-yard line. While not a pretty game for the Rams, it was enough to send them to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since they won Super Bowl LVI during the 2021 season. Now get ready for Rams vs. Seahawks Part III.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams completed 23 of his 42 passes for 257 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in a 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. He added 40 rushing yards on five carries. RB D'Andre Swift rushed 19 times for 76 yards, and RB Kyle Monangai chipped in 36 rushing yards on 13 carries and caught four passes for 36 yards. TE Colston Loveland caught four passes for a team-high 56 yards, and WR DJ Moore had 52 receiving yards and a touchdown on a team-high five catches. WR Rome Odunze gained 44 receiving yards on two receptions, WR Luther Burden III added three catches for 24 yards, and TE Cole Kmet finished with three grabs for 31 yards and a game-tying touchdown that forced overtime. S Jaquan Brisker led the way on defense with a team-high 14 tackles, including eight solo stops, a sack and two passes defensed. CB Kyler Gordon, DE Montez Sweat and DE Dominique Robinson all recorded a sack in the loss.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Courtney Cronin wrote, "They were the Cardiac Bears until the very end." After facing a seven-point deficit late in the game, Williams squeezed one more drop of fourth-quarter magic when he found Kmet in the corner of the north end zone at Soldier Field for a 14-yard touchdown to force the extra period. The Bears failed to score after their sole possession of overtime ended with Williams throwing an interception, his third of the game. Nonetheless, Ben Johnson's first year with the Bears was a resounding success despite Chicago falling short of reaching the title game as the NFC's No. 2 seed. The Bears finished with 11 wins in the regular season and their first playoff win in 15 years when they beat the Packers in the wild-card round.
