San Francisco 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (PCL) will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to GM John Lynch on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Footballguys view: This is no surprise after Pearsall's knee did not respond well to the open of camp. The PCL injury happened last season, so someone did not manage the rehab of this previously not surgically repaired issue well.

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson, CBs Christian Gonzalez and Marcus Jones and OG Alijah Vera-Tucker were limited in practice and did not participate in team drills Saturday, Aug. 1, in order for them to stay healthy, according to head coach Mike Vrabel.
Footballguys view: It sounds like the team is going use load management this summer for some of their starters who aren't exactly old timers, but do have some mileage on their bodies as entrenched starters. This is a good sign that Stevenson is in no danger of losing his starting job to TreVeyon Henderson.

Link to storyCleveland Browns S Grant Delpit signed a three-year extension worth $48 million, with $35 million guaranteed, on Wednesday, July 29.
Footballguys view: A second-round pick in 2020, Delpit missed his rookie season due to a torn Achilles suffered at practice in late August. He has since appeared in 78 games with 68 starts for Cleveland, delivering seven career interceptions with 21 passes defensed. He's also registered 6.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, and 17 quarterback hits.

Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward and the Browns have agreed on a two-year contract extension worth $62.2 million, according to a source on Tuesday, July 28.
Footballguys view: The $31.1 million annual average value makes Ward the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history for the second time in his career. In the aftermath of the Browns' dealing defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in June, Ward became Cleveland's longest-tenured player. Last season, Ward recorded 39 tackles and an interception in 15 games played. The No. 4 pick in the 2018 draft, Ward has 18 interceptions, 104 passes defended, and 361 tackles in eight seasons.

Carolina Panthers CB Jaycee Horn (toe) was activated from the non-football injury list Tuesday, July 28. He suffered a cut on his toe while running that required stitches and has been running on the side during practices.
Footballguys view: Horn landed on the list as camp opened last week due to a cut on his foot. He worked on side fields while the rest of the Panthers practiced last week, and Tuesday's move clears him for a full slate of activities. Tuesday's practice will be the first fully padded one of the summer for the defending NFC South champions. Four Panthers remain on the team's injury lists, and offensive tackles Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton are expected to remain out into the regular season.

Free-agent LB Jamal Adams (Raiders) will reportedly sign with the Minnesota Vikings, according to a source on Monday, July 27.
Footballguys view: At one point, Adams, selected by the Jets with the sixth pick of the 2017 draft, was one of the best safeties in the league. In his three seasons (46 games) in New York, Adams made two Pro Bowl appearances and was named first-team All-Pro in 2019. He added another Pro Bowl appearance as a Seahawk in 2020. Adams played in five games with the Titans and Lions in 2024. He appeared in 17 games last season with the Raiders. In 102 career games (87 starts), Adams, 30, has recorded 546 tackles, 22.5 sacks, four interceptions, and 36 pass deflections.

Seattle Seahawks S Nick Emmanwori's (ankle) availability for Week 1 is in question, head coach Mike Macdonald said Saturday, July 25.
Footballguys view: Emmanwori's problem ankle got hurt in Week 1 - which caused him to miss three games - and then was reinjured in practice the week before the Super Bowl. He had surgery earlier in July, and the team surely won't rush him back. The Patriots, Cardinals, and Commanders open up the regular season schedule for Seattle and would benefit if Emmanwori is limited or out.
Chicago Bears LB Keyshaun Elliott (undisclosed), CB Kyler Gordon (undisclosed), LB Noah Sewell (undisclosed), OT Ozzy Trapilo (knee) and DE Shemar Turner (undisclosed) were placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 25. The team also placed LB T.J. Edwards (undisclosed) on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.
Footballguys view: The most important name here is Trapilo, who emerged as the team's starting left tackle as a rookie second round pick last year. The team still has Braxton Jones, who he supplanted, and they signed former Browns first round pick Jedrick Wills as a reclamation project for depth. Trapilo tore a patellar tendon, so he's projected to miss most of the season, and there's no guarantee that he'll play at all.
