Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers connected on 17 of his 33 passing attempts for 146 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception in a loss to the Houston Texans on Wild Card Weekend. Rodgers was sacked four times and fumbled twice, losing one. RB Jaylen Warren had 12 carries for 43 yards; he added a four-yard reception. RB Kenneth Gainwell picked up 20 yards on six carries, and he also caught four passes for 26 yards. WR DK Metcalf had two receptions for 42 yards; he was targeted five times. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling logged 26 yards on three receptions. WR Adam Thielen posted two receptions for 25 yards. WR Calvin Austin was held to three catches and eight yards. TE Pat Freiermuth had an 18-yard reception for his lone catch, while TE Jonnu Smith turned two receptions into minus-one yard. LB Patrick Queen led the club with 10 tackles, including seven solo. CB Brandin Echols was credited with three stops and had an interception in the loss.
Footballguys view: Unlike a heart-stopping fourth-quarter rally against Baltimore that earned them their first AFC North title since 2020, this time there was no late-game magic from Rodgers and the Steelers. Instead, Mike Tomlin's postseason losing streak hit seven, tying Marvin Lewis of the Bengals for the longest playoff skid by an NFL coach. While the NFL's longest-tenured coach is all but assured of returning for a 20th season if he wants, Pittsburgh heads into yet another offseason likely searching for another quarterback and answers to a playoff drought whose weight seems to grow by the year.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 21 of 32 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 30-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wild Card Weekend. Stroud also fumbled five times, losing two. RB Woody Marks ran the ball 19 times for 112 yards and a touchdown. RB Nick Chubb had 10 carries for 48 yards. WR Christian Kirk tallied eight receptions (on nine targets) for 144 yards and a score. WR Jayden Higgins finished with three catches for 39 yards, and WR Xavier Hutchinson managed 21 yards on two grabs. WR Jaylin Noel was targeted once but did not have a catch. TE Dalton Schultz caught three of four targeted passes for 12 yards. S Jalen Pitre had a team-high seven tackles (five solo), including two tackles for loss. DT Sheldon Rankins had 1 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery that he returned for a score. S Calen Bullock had three solo tackles and an interception that was taken back for a touchdown.
Footballguys view: The Texans will take on the Patriots in a Divisional Playoff game Sunday afternoon. Houston heads to New England as the hottest team in the NFL with a quarterback who will be eager for a chance at a reprieve and a defense that can keep a game close against any opponent. The injury status of Nico Collins, who suffered a concussion in Pittsburgh, will merit our attention.

Footballguys view: Gonzalez sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday night's 16-3 wild-card win over the Los Angeles Chargers and did not return to the game. The Patriots will host the winner of Monday night's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans at home on Sunday. Gonzalez will have to make it through the five-step protocol to play.

Los Angeles Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon (shoulder) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list because of the shoulder injury he suffered during the Wild Card playoff game, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: Witherspoon began the season as a starter for the Rams, but he has played only seven games in a secondary that has been repeatedly exposed as the defense's weakest link, with or without his presence. Cobie Durant moved into Witherspoon's starting spot after Week 2, and he kept the spot after Witherspoon's return. Durant had an early interception in the Rams' win at Carolina. The Rams play in Chicago on Sunday.

Maye also lost a fumble. RB Rhamondre Stevenson finished with 10 carries for 53 yards and caught three passes for a team-best 75 yards, and RB TreVeyon Henderson gained just 11 yards on seven carries while catching one pass for nine yards. WR Kayshon Boutte hauled in four passes for 66 yards, and TE Hunter Henry turned three catches into 64 yards and a score. WR Stefon Diggs was limited to 16 yards on two receptions, and Efton Chism III caught a 20-yard pass and failed to complete his only pass attempt. WR Kyle Williams ended up with one catch for seven yards, and WR Demario Douglas gained three yards on his only catch. S Craig Woodson's 11 tackles led the team, and his seven solo stops were also a high mark for New England. The Patriots combined for six sacks and 11 quarterback hits, and DT Milton Williams and LB K'Lavon Chaisson both notched a pair of sacks.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-35 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in an NFC Wild Card game loss against the San Francisco 49ers, while running five times for 14 yards. RB Saquon Barkley rushed 26 times for a game-high 106 yards with three receptions for 25 yards on six targets. RB Tank Bigsby had four runs for 19 yards, with RB Will Shipley chipping in with a 6-yard grab on his lone touch and target. WR DeVonta Smith posted team bests with eight receptions and 70 yards on 11 targets, while new dad TE Dallas Goedert had four receptions for 33 yards and a TD, while also running for a 1-yard score. WR A.J. Brown had three receptions for 25 yards on seven targets, but he also had a key drop in the fourth quarter and a shouting match with head coach Nick Sirianni during the game. WR Darius Cooper had a 9-yard catch on his only target, while WR Jahan Dotson didn't have a catch on his lone target. DB Quinyon Mitchell had two interceptions and three passes defensed, while DE Jalen Carter had three total stops, a solo tackle, a sack, a tackle for loss and a QB hit.
Footballguys view: The Eagles offense has been a dysfunctional family all season, and it ended up being the downfall of the 2025 season for the team. AJ Brown had a terrible drop with the team driving to win the game, and was seen having a heated exchange with head coach Nick Sirianni on the sideline earlier in the game. That won't quiet speculation that he gets dealt in the offseason. The 49ers were without their starting linebackers, but the Eagles underachieved on offense all day. It could lead to both the firing of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the hiring of 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as a head coach in this firing/hiring cycle - but not for at least one more week. Dallas Goedert is also a free agent, so there could be some major changes for this offense in the offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence completed 18-of-30 passes for 207 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, while running six times for 31 yards. RB Travis Etienne Jr. rushed 10 times for a game-high 67 yards, while RB Bhayshul Tuten ran four times for 51 yards. On the receiving end, WR Parker Washington hauled in seven receptions for a game-best 107 yards and a touchdown, while Etienne added five grabs for 49 yards and a score, and WR Brian Thomas Jr. had two catches for 21 yards and a TD. WR Jakobi Meyers was targeted four times, but managed just a single 12-yard catch, while TE Brenton Strange converted his five targets into just two grabs and nine yards. LB Devin Lloyd led the way with five solo tackles, an assist and a fumble recovery, while S Eric Murray had seven total stops and four solo tackles, and DE Josh Hines-Allen had four total stops, three solo tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.
Footballguys view: It wasn't a flawless game by Lawrence, but it would have been good enough to beat most of the teams in the AFC playoff bracket, and he was productive against a good Bills pass defense. The Jaguars were stopped on fourth down inside the Bills 10 after recovering a Ray Davis fumbled kickoff return and Cam Little missed a 54-yard field goal attempt at the half awarded on a controversial call. You can't expect to beat Josh Allen in the postseason when you miss multiple scoring opportunities. The future is still bright for this team and for Lawrence (who will get Travis Hunter back). The biggest decision this offseason will be whether to sign Travis Etienne, who is due to hit free agency in March.
