New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (groin, knee) practiced in full on Friday, Dec. 18, and is listed as questionable.
Footballguys view: Active or not, the Jets have stated they are moving forward with Brady Cook this season. Taylor is an injury-away stash for superflex managers in need of a quarterback, but his path to relevance over the next two weeks is very limited.

New York Jets QB Brady Cook will start in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars as QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) is out.
Footballguys view: Justin Fields suffered a knee injury last week and is expected to miss this game after not practicing. Cook, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Mizzou, spent five years in college, starting the final three. He's an athletic quarterback with a big arm but suffers from inconsistent play. Expectations for all Jets pass-catchers should be tempered, as the game plan will likely focus on slowing things down and taking the air out of the ball.

New York Jets QB Brady Cook will receive the first-team repetitions in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Footballguys view: Let's all give Jets' fans a hug. This is not a great situation for their offense or players Fantasy GMs might be looking to in the fantasy playoffs. QBs Tyrod Taylor (groin) and Justin Fields (knee) won't practice Wednesday, and they'll all be evaluated later in the week.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) suffered a groin injury during the Week 14 game and was characterized as questionable to return. He did not.
Footballguys view: Taylor had just moved into fantasy relevance and had a favorable fantasy matchup today. Fantasy teams that trusted him for the first time all season are regretting the decision. UDFA rookie Brady Cook replaced Taylor and was ineffective. The Jets offensive outlook against Jacksonville next week is bleak.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor completed 19-of-33 passes for 172 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons, while running eight times for 44 yards and a score.
Footballguys view: Taylor led four second-half scoring drives, including two in the final nine minutes of the game, to erase a deficit and finish off the Jets' third win of the season. Now 1-2 as the starter, Taylor delivered two highlights: A 10-yard scoring run and a 52-yard touchdown pass to Adonai Mitchell, who played his best game as a Jet. Taylor was far from perfect, making it difficult to sustain drives, but he maintained his poise during a frantic comeback win. The Jets play the Dolphins in Week 14.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor went 17-for-28 for 222 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. He also rushed for 19 yards on five carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Taylor wasn't a bust if you used him as a QB2/Superflex and he even made one of his wide receivers a good fantasy play. Head coach Aaron Glenn is taing a week-to-week approach with his starting quarterback decision. Taylor probably played well enough to start against the Falcons next week.

Although QB Tyrod Taylor was named the starter for Week 12's game versus the Baltimore Ravens, it does not mean that he is guaranteed to retain the job for the rest of the season. The Jets plan to re-evaluate the position after this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor was named the starting quarterback for Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens over QB Justin Fields.
Footballguys view: The move comes on the heels of a 27-14 loss to the Patriots last Thursday that dropped the Jets to 2-8 on the season. Fields threw for just 116 yards on 15-of-26 passing. It marked the fourth time in the last five games that he finished with less than 200 passing yards and a completion rate below 60%. For weeks, head coach Aaron Glenn has resisted all inquiries into the possibility of a quarterback change, saying that not divulging his plans conveys a competitive advantage. Turns out there was no competitive advantage.

Footballguys view: Jets HC Aaron Glenn declined to name a starting QB for Week 10's game against the Browns. The team may go with Taylor as their starter since he's healthy and they don't seem happy with Justin Fields. However, this is the Jets so you just never know. Let's see if anything gets leaked before gameday.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) is expected to participate in practice this week, according to head coach Aaron Glenn.
Footballguys view: Taylor appeared to be set to move ahead of a struggling Justin Fields as the team's starting quarterback last week. However, a knee injury ultimately led to Taylor being ruled out ahead of the Jets' matchup with the Bengals. Aaron Glenn, fresh off the bye week, remained mum on his starting quarterback for Sunday against the Browns. Fields is expected to get the nod, but Glenn said he will let it play out until Sunday. We'll keep watching, but Taylor seems all but certain to open this week watching from the sidelines.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) has been ruled out for Week 8.
Footballguys view: It looked like Taylor was going to start for the Jets this week. Instead, this knee injury is not healed enough for him to play. That means Justin Fields will be starting again, this time against a bad Bengals defense - but without Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) is questionable for Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Taylor has been limited in practice all week, but Aaron Glenn refuses to tip his hand on who will start at quarterback in Week 8. Justin Fields took a blow to the head last week, briefly exited the game, returned, had three bad drives, and was benched for Taylor coming out of halftime. If he's starting, Fields always has appealing upside. If Taylor gets the start, he's a low-end QB2. Given the number of bye weeks, desperate managers might consider these guys potential streamers, but expectations should remain tepid.

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson says that head coach Aaron Glenn is 'moving towards' naming Tyrod Taylor to replace Justin Fields as the starting quarterback for Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Glenn will address reporters on Wednesday, but team owner Woody Johnson, speaking at a league meeting in New York on Tuesday, made his position clear. "It's hard when you have a quarterback with a rating that we got." Johnson also suggested things would be better "if we could just complete a pass." Johnson added the choice is Glenn's, but the owner clearly has a point of view. We'll continue to watch for more here, but Taylor, who started the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Bucs with Fields out due to a concussion, is about to get another chance.

New York Jets QB Justin Fields was benched in Week 7, and head coach Aaron Glenn said he's undecided on whether Fields or QB Tyrod Taylor will start in Week 8.
Footballguys view: Both quarterbacks guided the team to field goals and Fields was sacked three times while Taylor threw a pair of interceptions. Glenn said it is "something that I want to continue to look at" and said he plans to speak to other coaches who have been in similar situations as he makes up his mind. Glenn said his mindset is focused on "who gives us the best chance to win" against the Bengals and that longer-term considerations such as Fields' contract will not factor into his choice. Stay tuned. More to come.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor completed 10-of-22 passes for 126 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, while running three times for 11 yards, coming in during the second half for the ineffective QB Justin Fields.
Footballguys view: Coach Aaron Glenn had been steadfast in support of Fields, but he ran out of patience after six straight quarters without a touchdown. Taylor provided some energy but threw two interceptions. Could Glenn go back to Fields next week? As ESPN.com's Rich Cimini suggested, even if he does, the outcome seems inevitable. With a high draft pick, the Jets will be in the 2026 quarterback market, starting over yet again. The Jets play the Bengals in Week 8.

New York Jets QB Justin Fields was benched in the second half of the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers. He completed 6-of-12 passes for 46 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions before departing, and he was sacked three times while running for 22 yards. Veteran journeyman QB Tyrod Taylor took over.
Footballguys view: Fields had his worst game since his first game in the NFL last week in an ominous sign for his development. Head coach Aaron Glenn bristled at the suggestion that he would have considered benching Fields last week, but he did it this week. While Taylor is an improvement over Fields, he's still only desperation depth in 2QB/Superflex leagues and this will still be one of the worst offenses in the NFL. The winless Jets have the inside track for the #1 pick going into a game at Cincinnati.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor will start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
Footballguys view: The Buccaneers present a tough challenge for the Jets this week. Taylor has a ton of experience and can use his legs to escape pressure. That makes him a consideration for Fantasy GMs in deeper superflex leagues. Adjust your expectations for WR Garrett Wilson this week as he might be best considered a WR2 with Taylor under center.

New York Jets QB Justin Fields (concussion) is in the concussion protocol and out of practice Monday, Sept. 15. He will have to practice in order to play in Week 3, head coach Aaron Glenn said. QB Tyrod Taylor is being prepared to start this week in case he is needed.
Footballguys view: Coach Aaron Glenn said Fields will continue to be evaluated. As previously noted, if Fields is unable to play Sunday at Tampa Bay, veteran backup Tyrod Taylor would start for New York. The Jets' next practice is Wednesday, and Glenn acknowledged Fields would need to be cleared from the concussion protocol and get in some time on the field if he's going to play against the Buccaneers.

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor went 7-for-11 for 56 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 after replacing QB Justin Fields (head). He also rushed for 21 yards on three carries during the game.
Footballguys view: We'll see if Fields can get cleared in time to face Tampa next week. If not, Taylor will be streamable with his running ability that the likelihood that the Jets have to pass to move the ball against the Bucs stout defensive front that shut down the Falcons running game in Week 1.
