Free-agent WR Golden Tate (Giants) likely will not receive interest from the Tennessee Titans, in the opinion of TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt.
Footballguys view: Last month, Tate said he's looking at signing with the Titans, Colts, and Rams. He's from Tennessee, but it sounds like any sort of homecoming will not happen in 2021. The Titans upgraded their WR corps in a huge way when they traded for superstar Julio Jones, and they'll roll forward with Jones and A.J. Brown as their primary targets at the position. We'll see what kind of market Tate has once training camp starts, although there is a chance he gets a non-guaranteed deal before that time. |

Free-agent WR Golden Tate (Giants) said he would be interested in signing with the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Rams.
Footballguys view: Tate would be an excellent fit with the Titans, filling a need and having a chance for significant playing time and production. The Rams and Colts already have deep wide receiver groups and might not see the need to add Tate despite his long track record of quality contributions. |

Footballguys view: No surprise here. Tate's game has fallen off and he didn't seem happy with his role on the Giants offense. Some team could want him as slot depth in 2021. |

New York Giants WR Golden Tate's time with the team is 'almost certainly nearing an end,' opined one team beat reporter Saturday, Nov. 7. The Giants attempted to trade Tate last week, but found no market, according to a source, and he very likely will be released following the season.
Footballguys view: No surprise here if that's the case. Things aren't going well for Tate as he's going to be a healthy scratch in Week 9 as a disciplinary action for complaining about his lack of targets on social networking. |

New York Giants WR Golden Tate will not make the trip with the team Saturday, Nov. 7, to Washington and consequently will miss Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team, according to sources.
Footballguys view: This situation comes about with Tate complaining about his lack of targets on social networking. Sterling Shepard will do more with Tate out of action. The decision was made due to 'overall issues with (Tate's) effort and performance.' Tate 'has a chance' to return to the team's lineup in Week 10. |

New York Giants WR Golden Tate has worked out with the scout team at practice over the last two days and could be deactivated for Week 9's game versus the Washington Football Team. Tate originally got in trouble with the organization for screaming at the Giants' sideline during Week 8's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of unhappiness with his lack of involvement in the offense. He later posted a video on Instagram of him screaming into an ESPN end zone camera after scoring a touchdown during that game, where he once again voiced his displeasure with his lack of targets.
Footballguys view: Keep an eye on this situation as the Giants deal with the disgruntled veteran receiver. Sterling Shepard could get more work if Tate is benched or a healthy scratch in Week 9. |
