Saints | Alvin Kamara to continue to have big role Sun Jun 15, 01:23 PM
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara will continue to be a significant part of the running and passing game in the new offensive scheme, according to head coach Kellen Moore.
Footballguys view: Kamara was a top five PPR back last year, but he is falling to the fourth round or later in drafts right now. There's not a lot of confidence that he will maintain his level of play and production from last year going into his age 30 season with Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough at quarterback, but that creates enough of a discount to keep him in consideration at his current ADP. |

San Francisco 49ers assistant head coach Brandon Staley is expected to become the defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints after Kellen Moore signs his deal as the new head coach, according to sources Monday, Feb. 10.
Footballguys view: The Saints haven't officially hired Kellen Moore as their new head coach, but once that happens, Staley will be a top candidate to run the defense. Moore was Staley's offensive coordinator in Los Angeles in 2023. Staley had the No. 1 defense with the Rams in 2020, which he parlayed into the Chargers' head coaching job in 2021. He spent last season as assistant head coach of the 49ers. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Saints also have interest in Bucs outside linebackers coach George Edwards for the position. We'll watch for more. |

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to meet again with the New Orleans Saints after the Super Bowl, according to sources. Additionally, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis reportedly informed other head-coaching candidates that he intends to continue discussions with Moore.
Footballguys view: Moore would be by far the best possibility for the Saints to fill what is considered a very unattractive job. If Moore decides to turn them down, the Saints will have to get creative because their other top choice, Mike McCarthy, decided he doesn't want to coach next season. |

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to have a second interview with the New Orleans Saints for their vacant head coaching vacancy. It will be the second interview, and members of team management plan to fly to Philadelphia and meet Moore as soon as Monday, Jan. 27.
Footballguys view: The Saints job is seen as undesirable because of their dead end cap situation, but Moore could still decide to take the job after seeing Byron Leftwich, Bobby Slowik others lose their opportunity and offensive coordinator jobs quickly after being seen as hot candidates. Moore's stock is peaking after his team scored 55 points in the NFC Championship game. |

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore are expected to participate in second interviews with the Jacksonville Jaguars regarding their head coaching vacancy. They will join former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh and former Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham among coaches who have or will interview for a second time with the team.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was requested for an interview for the Dallas Cowboys head coaching vacancy.
Footballguys view: Many think that Moore, a former Cowboys player and assistant, will be their next head coach. He's got to be done with the postseason before he can officially interview with his old team. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is flirting with Colorado HC Deion Sanders, but that might be a leverage play as Sanders looks for an extended contract with the Buffaloes. |

The Dallas Cowboys could be interested in former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for the team's head coaching vacancy, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: As SBNation.com noted, when the Cowboys decided to walk away from five-year head coach Mike McCarthy, they made one clear: Fixing the offense was this offseason's number one priority. Even before QB Dak Prescott went down with a season-ending injury, the Cowboys' offense was a big disappointment during McCarthy's final season in Dallas. While Moore's time in Dallas did not end on the greatest note, there's no denying he had the offense operating at a high level during his time as the team's offensive coordinator. Prescott had two of the best seasons of his nine-year career with Moore as his offensive coordinator and was one of the NFL's best during the four years Moore was Dallas' OC. Getting the most of the quarterback would be a good first step in getting the Cowboys on track and increasing the value of the team's top fantasy prospects. |

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was requested to interview with the New Orleans Saints for their head coach vacancy, according to sources Monday, Jan. 6.
Footballguys view: The list of candidates for the Saints HC opening is growing, with Moore joining Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as potential candidates. A former quarterback for the Lions and Dallas, Moore decided to remain with the Cowboys as their QBs coach and end his playing career in 2018. Dallas later promoted him to offensive coordinator for the 2019 season and he retained the position through a coaching change. However, he and head coach Mike McCarthy later elected to mutually part ways, and the Chargers hired Moore as offensive coordinator in 2023. Moore joined the Eagles as an offensive coordinator when the Chargers hired Jim Harbaugh before the 2024 season. In 2024, the Eagles ranked No. 7 in points per game, No. 8 in yards per game, No. 29 in passing yards and No. 2 in rushing yards. |

Former Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is interviewing for the same post with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Moore once seemed on the fast track to be a head coach. Things stalled for him in Dallas, and he didn't get as much success with Chargers' QB Justin Herbert as everyone expected. Now, he may go back to the NFC East to take over an Eagles offense that is not as powerful as it once was. |

Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was requested to interview for the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator vacancy Thursday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Moore was supposed to be a head coach by now, but things fell off in Dallas and he wasn't as successful as he could have been with the Chargers. Now, we'll see if Moore can find a job with the Eagles or the Browns. Anyone taking over the Browns' offense will get the task of getting QB Deshaun Watson back up to the levels we remember him from his days in Houston. |

Former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract to become the new offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Jan. 30.
Footballguys view: This has to be seen as great news for Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense. It's not clear that Moore was the main person at fault for any perceived problems with the Cowboys offense. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and the team mutually agreed to part ways Sunday, Jan. 29, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Ian Rapoport is already reporting that Moore is expected to join on with the Chargers as their offensive coordinator, which has to be seen as great news for Justin Herbert and the offense. Moore had interviewed for the Panthers head coaching job that eventually went to Frank Reich. Brian Schottenheimer has a connection to Mike McCarthy and has been mentioned a lot as the next Cowboys offensive coordinator. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is still meeting with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Moore seems to be on his way out of Dallas. He's been getting head coaching interest for a couple of years now, and this year might be the time he gets that opportunity. We think former Colts HC Frank Reich is the frontrunner with the Panthers, but Moore will get a chance to prove himself worthy of the job. |

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel and Dallas cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore are expected to interview for the head coaching vacancy of the Miami Dolphins on Friday, Feb. 4.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins appear to be down to their finalist, two young offensive minds on the rise. This would be good for Tua Tagovailoa, although recent revelations cast doubt on whether ownership is happy with the 2020 #5 overall pick as the future of the team. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will interview for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy Thursday, Jan. 20.
Footballguys view: Moore and Quinn are making the rounds...and they have plenty of free time after the Cowboys couldn't get past the 49ers in the Wild Card Round. The Dolphins are looking for the right head coach to mesh with QB Tua Tagovailoa. That could be someone like Moore, who has been seen as an up-and-coming bright mind in coaching circles. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is reportedly interviewing with the Denver Broncos in the Dallas area on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is scheduled to do the same later in the evening.
Footballguys view: The Broncos are looking at both coordinators from the Cowboys. Since moving on from Vic Fangio, the team should focus on improving their offense and finding a head coach who can fit with whatever quarterback they bring in this offseason. Rumblings have been their top target is trading for QB Aaron Rodgers. It seems like a pipe dream, but they should be aggressive in their pursuit of upgrading the quarterback position. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is interviewing for the Denver Broncos' head coaching position Tuesday, Jan. 18.
Footballguys view: Moore has a bright offensive mind, but he's coming off a playoff loss to the 49ers and that may have cooled his stock in the eyes of Broncos fans. The Broncos have talent on offense, outside of having a good quarterback. Perhaps Moore, and the right QB, will help jump start this talented but under performing unit. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich will interview via Zoom for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching position Friday, Jan. 7.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars are getting the drop on the rest of the NFL teams that will be in the market for a head coach this offseason by firing their coach in-season. Both Moore and Leftwich fit the league trend towards young, offense-oriented head coaches, and both have had great success in recent years. Leftwich was also once the franchise quarterback for the Jaguars, so he would be a natural fit. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn have received requests from the Jacksonville Jaguars to interview for their head coaching position, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: Moore and Quinn should both be hot names in the coaching carousel that is about to take off. If a team wants a young, bright offensive mind then Moore is on the list. If a team wants a veteran coach with a good reputation and previous head-coaching experience then Quinn is your guy. There's a chance both will get new gigs for 2022. |

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles in regards to their head coaching vacancy Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Footballguys view: Moore has been seen as a future head coach for some time. He's on his way to being a head coach in the NFL, and at 31-years old the Eagles could get him signed as that guy. We'll see how he interviews and if the Eagles go in that direction. They need to find someone who can get QB Carson Wentz back on track and work closely with GM Howie Roseman. |

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore agreed to a three-year contract extension with the team Saturday, Jan. 2.
Footballguys view: Many thought he'd become the new head coach at Boise State, but the Cowboys are going to keep Moore to direct the offense that should be one of the league's best when Dak Prescott returns next week. |

Former Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore was brought on as the quarterbacks coach Tuesday, Jan. 23, according to owner Jerry Jones. Additionally, running backs coach Gary Brown was re-signed.
Footballguys view: Moore goes from being a teammate of Dak Prescott, to his coach in one year. He retired after working as the Cowboys no3 quarterback for part of 2017. Moore will work with Jason Garrett closely to get the most out of the situation, and he's always had a coaches mentality to approaching the game. It should be a near seamless transition for Moore. |

Footballguys view: Undrafted out of Boise State in 2012, Moore has been with the Cowboys since 2015. He's bounced on and off their practice squad and now finds his way to the coaching staff. Moore is a bright mind for offensive football and is a good hire for the Cowboys. |

Free-agent QB Kellen Moore (Cowboys) will re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, Sept. 5, according to owner Jerry Jones.

Free-agent QB Kellen Moore (Cowboys) could return to the Dallas Cowboys roster, according to head coach Jason Garrett.
Footballguys view: Rookie Cooper Rush is the only QB on the roster behind starter Dak Prescott. Moore has the veteran experience that Rush obviously does not have, and the team might want him back as insurance in case of emergency. |

Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore was released Saturday, Sept. 2, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Cowboys got rid of Luke McCown too. Rookie Cooper Rush looks like the backup to Dak Prescott. |

Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore's understanding of the offense and ability to move the chains were on display at times during last week's three-day minicamp, and his accuracy continues to be a strong point as well.
Footballguys view: Kellen Moore is the likely backup to Dak Prescott in 2017. He's facing competition from guys like rookie Cooper Rush and recently added free agent Zac Dysert. Moore is likely the winner of the competition, but the Dallas offense would not be as exciting if he was forced into the lineup due to an injury to Prescott. We don't see dynasty value in Moore, and there are several other backups we'd rather stash in that format. |

Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore missed all of last season after suffering a broken ankle in training camp, but the team insists it feels good about him backing up Dak Prescott.
Footballguys view: Not a surprise here. Moore doesn't offer much if he's ever forced into the starting lineup. We've got next to zero invested in Moore in our dynasty leagues. |
