Mattison only being limited leaves the door open for Sincere McCormick to get a larger workload after he impressed in part-time duty last week. Head coach Antonio Pierce said McCormick will get more opportunities. |

The Las Vegas Raiders have declared OG Cody Whitehair, WR Ramel Keyton, RB Alexander Mattison, DT Matthew Butler, TE Harrison Bryant, CB Nate Hobbs and RB Zamir White inactive for Week 13.
Footballguys view: With Mattison and White out, the backfield will be split between Ameer Abdullah and Sincere McCormick. The coaching staff has been talking up McCormick, so this could be a game where he gets on the radar in deep dynasty leagues. Both are desperation plays with the uncertainty about the backfield split. |

Before his injury, Mattison carried five times for 19 yards and caught all three of his targets for 50 yards. We'll have more on his status in coming days. The Raiders play the Broncos in Week 12. |

Las Vegas Raiders RB Alexander Mattison deserves more reps, and he will receive them, according to head coach Antonio Pierce.
Footballguys view: Mattison helped the Raiders gain a season-high 152 rushing yards against the Browns on Sunday. In its first three games, the team totaled just 153 yards on the ground. What a larger workload for Mattison means for starter Zamir White is unclear. White, who ran for 397 yards in the Raiders' final four games last season, was expected to be the team's workhorse this year. But White has 152 rushing yards on 49 attempts through four games, an average of 3.1 yards per carry. He also had a fumble returned for a touchdown Sunday. On the other hand, Mattison has 87 yards on 17 rushing attempts for a 5.1 yards per carry average. Rewarding Mattison with a more significant role makes sense. |

Las Vegas Raiders RB Alexander Mattison rushed four times for just one yard in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, but he was able to least able to score his second touchdown of the season. He was not targeted in the pass game.
Footballguys view: While Zamir White played a much higher percentage of the offensive snaps this week, Mattison still had ample opportunity. Making matters worse for White is Mattison continuing to split short-yardage work. According to Pro Football Focus, that included a goal-line snap that led to a Mattison touchdown. Worth noting: Mattison is the first Raiders running back to score a touchdown (rushing or receiving) in each of the first two games of a season since Marshawn Lynch (first three) in 2018. Expect Mattison to continue sharing the workload with White going forward. |

Las Vegas Raiders RB Alexander Mattison is 'quietly having a very good camp,' according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
Footballguys view: He's probably the early down backup behind Zamir White, but Mattison floundered in a large opportunity last year, and sixth round passing down back Dylan Laube has gotten most of the headlines among the backs behind White. Mattison is barely draftable in typical leagues right now. |
Alexander Mattison player page
Las Vegas Raiders RB Alexander Mattison has spent his entire career in offensive schemes that utilize a similar zone-blocking approach to the one used by offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, and he could become the starter if RB Zamir White isn't able to handle a larger workload, in the opinion of The Athletic's Tashan Reed.
Footballguys view: We could see White pushing for 1,000 yards rushing this year as the Raiders lead back. Mattison is a seasoned veteran with plenty of experience, but if White can handle the workload he won't see the field much. Fantasy GMs consider White a low-end RB2 or flex option, but there's value to be had if he plays up to his potential. If Mattison is playing more, then it means White has failed to do that. |
