Browns | Jurevicius allowed to pursue lawsuit against team Fri Apr 2, 12:22 AM
Pat Galbincea, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports a federal judge ruled Wednesday, March 31, that former WR Joe Jurevicius can proceed with his claims against the Browns in state court for incurring a staph infection at their training facility two years ago. U.S. District Judge Solomon Oliver Jr. said the Browns' contention that the case should be dismissed outright because of an NFL collective bargaining agreement was not valid. Oliver ruled that eight of Jurevicius' claims against the Browns arose from state law and not the league's collective bargaining agreement.

Browns | Jurevicius sues team Fri Jun 26, 12:53 PM
Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports unrestricted free-agent WR Joe Jurevicius (Browns) has filed a civil suit against the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Clinic, and the team's former and current physicians for negligence and fraud that he alleges led to a staph infection that might have ended his NFL career.
Footballguys view: Former Browns TE Kellen Winslow also had problems with staph infections when he was in Cleveland so this isn't shocking. |
