Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (calf) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 31, but is not on the injury report for Week 9.
Footballguys view: The Packers have been conservative with Jacobs' usage over the last couple of weeks as he navigates this calf injury. Still, a matchup against the Panthers puts him into RB1 consideration. Expect Emanuel Wilson to get some work, but Jacobs still projects for the vast majority.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs rushed 13 times for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, while posting a single 3-yard catch on his lone target.
Footballguys view: Jacobs, who entered the day listed as questionable due to illness and a calf issue, was cleared to play after pre-game warmups. It wasn't his busiest day of the season, but it was a success nonetheless. We'll monitor his health in the coming days as the Packers prepare to play the Steelers in Week 8.

Footballguys view: Logging a full practice leads us to believe that Jacobs will probably play against the Cardinals. If he's active, fire him up as an RB1. However, fantasy managers looking for a running back could stash Emanuel Wilson just in case Jacobs' health regresses.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs rushed 18 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 57 yards in a 27-18 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky, Jacobs said last week that he has always felt like it takes three or four games to get the running game going. On Sunday, that's precisely what happened. While it was far from a dominating performance, the Packers piled up 153 yards on the ground. It included the season-high 93 yards by Jacobs, who had two rushing touchdowns for his fifth game with multiple rushing scores since the beginning of last season. Jacobs averaged 5.2 yards per carry after he came in averaging just 3.3 yards. The Packers take on the Cardinals in Week 7.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs ran the ball 22 times for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. Jacobs added a team-high 71 yards on four receptions despite checking out briefly with a laceration on his knee.
Footballguys view: As CBSSports.com noted, the highlight of Jacobs' performance was an 18-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter, which was one of his three rushes to go for double-digit yardage. Jacobs surpassed 70 receiving yards for the fourth time in his career and second time as a Packer. Sunday night was also the first time he surpassed 100 total yards in a game this season, though he's found the end zone in three of four contests. He left briefly with a knee injury in the fourth quarter, but quickly returned despite a questionable designation. The Packers are off Week 5.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 26, but is not on the injury report for Week 4.
Footballguys view: Jacobs has been tending to what sounds like a minor ankle injury all week. He spent a lot of time on the injury report last year, too. This isn't overly concerning. The Packers are famously careful about injuries, and want to make sure their workhorse is ready for a get-right primetime matchup against the Cowboys. Fire Jacobs up as an RB1 on Sunday night.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs managed 16 carries for just 30 yards, and he was good for 44 receiving yards on five receptions. He was targeted a game-high nine times.
Footballguys view: Jacobs at least bailed out fantasy teams with his five catches, but the Browns are a clear avoid for opposing running backs. We will of course keep Jahmyr Gibbs in lineups next week against Cleveland because of his pass catching prowess, but David Montgomery will be a no go for fantasy. Expect Jacobs to have a better game against Dallas next week.

Footballguys view: Jacobs logged limited practices this week but should be a full go on Sunday against the Browns. He's one of the league's few workhorses, and that shouldn't change in this matchup. Fire him up as a top-ten running back in your fantasy leagues.

Footballguys view: It's a long season, and Jacobs will see his practice workload maintained. This is just a bit of maintenance as Jacobs and the Packers get ready for the Browns.
Josh Jacobs player page
Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs carried the ball 23 times for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders in Week 2. Jacobs was not targeted as a receiver.
Footballguys view: Jacobs has been mostly contained as a runner, and not that productive as a receiver, but you still have to feel good about his staying power because of the Packers defense's ability to keep them in run-heavy game scripts. The Packers were also missing two starting offensive linemen in a short week of rest.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs said he feels that he left a lot of yards on the field last season. 'I had some plays where I felt like I kinda gave up on the play because I thought the play was over, and it really wasn't,' Jacobs said.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs rushed for 12 of his 15 touchdowns during the second half of the 2024 NFL season even though he rushed for 667 yards in the first half and 662 yards in the second half.
Footballguys view: Jacobs was a stud for the Packers last year. In 17 games, Jacobs ran 301 times for 1329 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns. He also added a career-best 9.5 yards per reception on 43 targets. This year, Fantasy GMs are taking Jabobs off the board in the second or third round with a current ADP of RB10.
Josh Jacobs player page
Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs is looking better than he did at this time last year and will not have any limitations during offseason workouts, according to running backs coach Ben Sirmans.
Footballguys view: As CheeseheadTV.com suggested, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst took a gamble replacing longtime locker room leader and fan favorite Aaron Jones with Jacobs, but it paid off. In his first season with Green Bay, Jacobs finished sixth in the league with 1,329 YDs rushing on 301 attempts. He averaged 4.4 YDs per carry and totaled 15 rushing TDs, third among running backs. He was reliable, playing in all 17 games and caught 43 passes for 342 yards, scoring his first career receiving touchdown in week 7. His average of 9.5 yards per catch was second among the top 25 running backs in catches. But make no mistake, handing the ball to Jacobs is a winning formula, and we'll see it again this season. Jacobs is RB10 on the initial Footballguys 2025 Projections. That aligns directly with his current RB10 Average Draft Position in early Underdog best-ball drafts. Fantasy managers who invest in anticipated workload will find this price appealing.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs said he believes the team needs to add a proven No. 1 wide receiver this offseason.
Footballguys view: Some want to make this statement more than it is; a mere statement of truth...and the truth isn't meant to make you feel good. The Packers don't have a true no.1 receiver and instead have spread the ball around in their passing game. How's that working out? Getting a stud, clear-cut no.1 receiver that QB Jordan Love could lean on could change the dynamics of this offense. Jacobs was not being disrespectful to any of his teammates, he was merely stating fact.
Josh Jacobs player page
Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs recorded 737 rushing yards after contact during the 2024 regular season. He also recorded 35 broken tackles during the season.
Footballguys view: In his first season in Green Bay, Jacobs ran for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 carries and caught 36 passes for 342 yards and one touchdown. The 15 rushing touchdowns were a career-high for Jacobs, and his receiving TD was the first of his career. The former Raider finished the season as RB5 (through Week 17) with an average of 18 fantasy points per game. He'll be in the RB1 conversation again next year, with Footballguy Dave Kluge advising readers that a talented back with ideal usage on a good offense shouldn't slip any lower than the top half of Round 2 in drafts this year.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love completed 20-of-33 passes for 212 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions while running for 10 yards in the NFC wild-card game loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. RB Josh Jacobs rushed 18 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, while adding three receptions for 40 yards. WR Jayden Reed, who left with a shoulder injury, ended up with a team-high 46 yards on four targets, and Jacobs was second-best with 40 receiving yards. WR Dontayvion Wicks finished with 39 yards on two grabs with six targets, and TE Tucker Kraft absorbed all five of his targets for 26 yards. WR Romeo Doubs, who checked out early due to a possible concussion, ended up with 13 yards on two receptions. LB Quay Walker gutted his way through the way, finishing with a team-high four solo tackles with eight total stops.
Footballguys view: Love didn't play nearly as well as he did last year in the postseason, but he was without Christian Watson coming in, and lost Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs during the game. Josh Jacobs, on the other hand, rose to the occasion, and had the play of the day to set up his one-yard touchdown run, the only on the day for the team. Jacobs ended up being a big addition, but the passing game didn't live up to higher expectations after a promising 2023. Jordan Love and the Packers passcatchers will be going a lot lower in fantasy drafts this year.
