Packers | Josh Jacobs to miss at least another week    Tue Aug 11, 01:24 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (groin) will miss 'at least' another week of practice, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.

Footballguys view: Jacobs dealt with numerous injuries last season, finishing with 929 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns in 15 games (all starts). He also had 36 receptions for 282 yards and a score. MarShawn Lloyd has been a bright spot in training camp, LaFleur said, and is likely to work with the No. 1 offense in the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday. We'll have more on Jacobs as further details come to light.

Packers | Josh Jacobs misses practice    Thu Aug 6, 02:26 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (groin) did not practice on Thursday, Aug. 6. The injury isn't considered to be long-term.

Footballguys view: It's not a serious injury, but 2024 third round pick MarShawn Lloyd has had an impressive camp - and more importantly stayed healthy so far after two injury-riddled seasons in the NFL. Jacobs could have more company in the backfield than he has in the past, and it's fair to wonder if he is wearing down after logging at least 260 touches in each of the first seven years of his career.

Packers | RB Josh Jacobs' case still open, pending resolution    Mon Jul 27, 04:34 PM

A May 2026 arrest of Packers running back Josh Jacobs following a domestic disturbance resulted in no charges being filed. But Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports the Brown County District Attorney's Office said via email on July 23 that the investigation is "still open" and that "there will be an update provided once a resolution is reached."

Footballguys view: Jacobs remains available to practice and to play. As PFT's Mike Florio suggests, the possibility of paid leave would arise if he's formally charged with one or more crimes relating to domestic violence, or if the league determines, based on its own investigation, that paid leave is required. For now, it appears that there will be no information until he's charged. Even if he isn't charged, Jacobs could be subject to discipline under the Personal Conduct Policy. We'll continue to monitor while reminding you that MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks are next men up at the position.

Packers | Josh Jacobs easier to take down    Sun Jul 19, 06:08 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs ranked 17th in yards after contact last season after ranking third in the category the previous season.

Footballguys view: Jacobs did play hurt in the second half of the season, but he has logged at least at 262 touches in each of his seven years in the NFL, so it's possible that he is starting the decline in effectiveness that comes to every running back. MarShawn Lloyd stayed healthy in the offseason for the first time since the team drafted him in the third round of the 2024 draft and he could have a weekly role that reduces Jacobs workload.

Packers | Josh Jacobs back at OTAs    Tue Jun 2, 01:05 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs was at the team's practice during OTAs on Tuesday, June 2.

Footballguys view: Jacobs was arrested on May 26 after police responded to an alleged domestic violence incident a few days earlier. He missed practice time as those matters played out, but it does not sound like there will be any limitations on his participation this week. Coach Matt LaFleur told reporters that it is "business as usual" for the veteran back. Prosecutors said last week there has been no decision about formally filing criminal charges against Jacobs. We'll continue to watch for more.

Packer | Josh Jacobs released; no charges filed at this time, investigation ongoing    Wed May 27, 03:21 PM

Running back Josh Jacobs has been released from jail Wednesday after his arrest on several domestic violence charges. No charges have been filed at this time, but the Brown County (Wisconsin) District Attorney's Office said the investigation "remains open and ongoing."

Footballguys view: Jacobs, 28, was booked Tuesday on charges of battery, criminal damage to property, domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim. Jacobs, through his attorneys, denied the allegations on Tuesday. Head coach Matt LaFleur opened a Wednesday press conference by making his first public comments on Jacobs. "I'm gonna stick with the statement that we put out as an organization and just let the process play out," LaFleur said. It's safe to say this story is moving fast. Fantasy investors should follow LaFleur's lead and take a beat here to see how it plays out.

Packers | LaFleur: Packers will let the process play out with Josh Jacobs    Wed May 27, 12:37 PM

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur opened a Wednesday press conference by making his first public comments on running back Josh Jacobs' arrest. "I'm gonna stick with the statement that we put out as an organization and just let the process play out," LaFleur said, via Michael Gross of Fox 11 News.

Footballguys view: Jacobs was arrested in Wisconsin over the weekend and faces five criminal charges, including a felony charge of strangulation. The Packers released a statement saying they were aware of the matter and declining further comment. LaFleur was asked whether the team would be making plans to play without Jacobs for some portion of the season and said, "A lot's gonna happen between now and then" before answering another question about the overall makeup of the running back group. "I like the guys that we have, but, certainly, you can never have enough," LaFleur said. Stay tuned.

Packers | Josh Jacobs' charges include a felony    Wed May 27, 12:29 AM

Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Tuesday and booked on several domestic violence charge. According to Brown County jail records, the strangulation and suffocation charge is a felony, and the other four charges are misdemeanors. According to the records, Jacobs was being held without bond.

Footballguys view: As noted in a previous item, Jacobs, through his attorneys, denied the allegations. A first-team All-Pro in 2022 with the Raiders, Jacobs is entering his third season with the Packers after signing with the team in free agency in 2024. Last season, he scored 14 total touchdowns (13 rushing) and totaled 1,211 yards in 15 games. The Packers said they were aware of the matter involving Jacobs. The NFL has also been in contact with the Packers. Green Bay began OTAs on Tuesday, and coach Matt LaFleur has a scheduled availability with the media later today.

Packers | Josh Jacobs arrested and booked on domestic abuse charges    Tue May 26, 06:49 PM

After a complaint on May 23 and a subsequent investigation, Packers RB Josh Jacobs was arrested this morning and booked into Brown County Jail on five charges: battery/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.

Footballguys view: While it's far too early to assess the fallout, we wanted to get it on your radar. These are serious charges -- but at this point, they're just that, and Jacobs, through his attorney, "vehemently denies the allegations." The Packers offered the following comment: "We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment." The NFL is also aware. We'll obviously be following up as developments warrant, but if you're in the middle of a draft, avoiding the situation until we get more information isn't a horrible idea.

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee, ankle) practiced in full on Friday, Jan. 2, and no longer appears on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Jacobs has played through this injury for the past few weeks, but it has impacted his workload and efficiency. He can still be started in fantasy, but there's obvious risk. Emanuel Wilson has looked solid in relief and could see extra work against the Vikings.

Packers | Josh Jacobs will be limited ahead of Week 17    Tue Dec 23, 02:41 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee) will be limited all week ahead of Week 17, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.

Footballguys view: Playing on a questionable designation in Chicago, Jacobs carried the ball just 12 times for 36 yards. He also lost a fumble in the third quarter and only played two snaps after that without touching the ball. The end result was a 6.8-point finish in a vital week for his investors. Coach Matt LaFleur was asked about Jacobs' diminished role after the game. "I thought [Emanuel Wilson] was running pretty well," the coach said. "So we kind of were rolling with that." Wilson should be high on your radar in case the Packers decide to give Jacobs the week off.

Packers | Josh Jacobs' status in question    Thu Dec 18, 03:41 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 16.

Footballguys view: Jacobs now has three DNP's this week in preparation for Saturday's game against the Bears. He's a seasoned veteran and doesn't need every practice rep, but this is a worrisome development. Make sure he's in the lineup before trusting him as a starter in Week 16. Emanuel Wilson will do more if Jacobs can't play.

Packers | Josh Jacobs sitting out    Thu Dec 18, 12:14 PM

Footballguys view: Last week, Jacobs was DNP, DNP, and limited then still played against the Broncos. This time, Jacobs is questionable with three missed practices and a Saturday game against the Bears. He's certainly a game-time decision, so Fantasy GMs need to be dialed in on his status. Emanuel Wilson would be in line to do more if Jacobs has to miss Saturday night's game.

Footballguys view: Jacobs was limited last week for two days and got a full practice in on Friday. This week, Jacobs has two DNPs to begin the team's practice routine. He could be full on Friday, but there's a chance he might be just limited. Jacobs owns the Broncos every time he plays them, so he's at least an RB2 if he's out there in Week 15.

Footballguys view: Jacobs missed one game two weeks ago, but played through his knee injury last Thursday against the Lions. He'll suit up for another divisional matchup against the Bears on Sunday. He's third among running backs to Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs in rushing touchdowns. Start him as an RB1.

Packers | Josh Jacobs a limited participant    Thu Dec 4, 04:23 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 4.

Footballguys view: Jacobs has been limited both days so far this week. The Packers are being wisely cautious as he deals with this knee injury. Against the Bears in Week 14, we like Jacobs as an RB1.
