Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said he is not interested in talking about his contract situation at this time.
Footballguys view: GM Eric DeCosta said earlier this month that contract negotiations have started with Jackson, including during OTAs. Minicamp would be a convenient time for the two sides to continue those conversations. Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million deal during the 2023 offseason that made him the NFL's highest-paid player at the time. Dallas' Dak Prescott currently tops the NFL with a contract averaging $60 million per season. Head coach John Harbaugh said in March that Jackson's next contract will again put him at the top of the salary scale. "Sounds good," Jackson said when asked about Harbaugh's comments. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was not present for the voluntary workout Monday, June 9.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson participated in only one of the voluntary workouts this offseason, but head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson looked good in that workout and is not bothered by the absences.
Footballguys view: Given the voluntary nature of the workouts, there's not much Harbaugh and the Ravens can say -- at least nothing they didn't account for with his last contract. Jackson's 2023 deal includes separate $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. To get the money, he has to show up for at least 80 percent of the workouts. Like he has this year, Jackson also passed on that bonus last year. Nonetheless, he finished as QB1 overall with an average of 25.1 points per game. So, nobody should get too worked up about this year's absences. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has started preliminary talks with the Ravens about a possible contract extension, according to general manager Eric DeCosta.
Footballguys view: Jackson is under contract through 2027, as he signed a five-year, $260 million contract with the Ravens in 2023. There is no rush to get this deal done, but the quarterback market is crazy so perhaps the sooner the better for the Ravens. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 18 of his 25 passes for 254 yards, two touchdown and an interception in a 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. Jackson also ran six times for 39 yards and a lost fumble, and RB Derrick Henry had 16 carries for 84 yards and a score. TE Isaiah Likely had four catches for a team-high 73 yards and a score, and WR Rashod Bateman had four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. TE Mark Andrews finished with five receptions for 61 yards and lost a fumble.
Footballguys view: Playing without Zay Flowers (knee), the Ravens silenced the Buffalo crowd with a 16-yard score from Bateman on third down of Baltimore's opening drive. But Buffalo responded quickly on offense before their defense came on strong. The Bills forced three turnovers on the night, including two on Jackson and one crucial fumble from Andrews -- his first since 2019 -- in the fourth quarter. Andrews had a chance at redemption on the Ravens' final drive on a two-point conversion that could have tied the game, but he juggled and dropped the ball in the end zone. Scrutiny of Jackson's playoff performances will only increase as he fell to 3-5 in the postseason. Baltimore fell to 5-8 in the divisional round, including 1-4 in its last five. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson connected on 25 of his 33 passing attempts for 290 yards and 4 TDs during the team's Week 10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson also ran the ball seven times for 33 yards.
Footballguys view: Jackson was quiet for most of the first three quarters, but exploded in the fourth to help the Ravens overcome a 14 point deficit to win when the Bengals failed on a two point conversion that might have had more than on missed penalty. Jackson is the most valuable quarterback in fantasy football, although Burrow matched him (even slightly outscored him) on this night. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (rest) did not practice on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Footballguys view: Jackson was estimated to be a full participant in Monday's walk-through and was not designated with any injuries. Last week, before a starring performance in a blowout win Sunday over the Denver Broncos, he missed practice Wednesday and Thursday to rest minor back and knee injuries, then returned as a full participant Friday. Coach John Harbaugh was asked after Monday's walk-through whether the Ravens would consider limiting Jackson in practice again.â€Well, we only have one practice at speed this week, so I guess we have that going for us this week for the whole team,†Harbaugh said. â€"We'll see how it works for everybody.†The Ravens play the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night after a short turnaround. Expect Jackson to play as usual. |

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a perfect passer rating today for the fourth time in his career. No one else in NFL history has done that.
Footballguys view: Jackson completed 16 of 19 passes for 280 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions in today's win over the Broncos, which gave him a perfect passer rating of 158.3. Jackson previously had perfect passer ratings in Week One of the 2019 season against the Dolphins, Week 10 of the 2019 season against the Bengals, and Week 17 of the 2013 season against the Dolphins. With his fourth perfect passer rating today, Jackson is the first player in NFL history to hit the 158.3 mark four times in games with at least 15 pass attempts. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, and Ben Roethlisberger are the only other quarterbacks to do it three times. As PFT suggested, Jackson may be the best running quarterback in NFL history, but he probably doesn't get enough credit for his passing. He can take over a game with his arm like a few other quarterbacks in NFL history. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (back, knee) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 1.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (back, knee) did not practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Footballguys view: This is more than just getting rest. When Jackson missed Wednesday's practice, we were not concerned as many veterans take that day off. Missing two days is different. He should at least be limited on Friday, and right now we're expecting him to start against the Broncos on Sunday. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 23-of-38 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns, while running eight times for 46 yards.
Footballguys view: Jackson was not the reason the Ravens were upset in Cleveland. He was let down by a drop from Rashod Bateman on a deep ball and Derrick Henry getting stuffed on a direct snap on fourth down in the Cleveland red zone. The Ravens depleted pass defense also had trouble covering the Browns passcatchers. Jackson remains the most valuable quarterback in fantasy football heading into a matchup with the Broncos. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 20-for-26 for 323 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Washington Commanders in Week 6. He also rushed for 40 yards on 11 carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Jackson threw his first interception of the season to Mike Sainristil, but otherwise was efficient and in control against a weak Commanders pass defense. It wasn't a huge game for Jackson because the Ravens were in control most of the way, but you should still feel like you have the #1 quarterback in fantasy football if you drafted him. A possible shootout with Baker Mayfield in Tampa is up next. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 21-of-34 passes for 247 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders, while adding five runs for 45 yards.
Footballguys view: Jackson became the fourth-reigning NFL Most Valuable Player to lose his first two games of a season since the 1970 merger and the first since Kurt Warner in 2002. Today's game marked the first time Jackson has lost consecutive starts since December 2021. "We've got to find our mojo," Jackson said. "We've got to find [it], and do what we do, because that's not us at all." Fortunately, a poor start for the Ravens hasn't hurt Jackson's fantasy production. He entered Sunday night's game as QB2 through two games, scoring an average of 21.8 points per game. |

According to multiple reporters on the scene, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not on the field for Monday's practice.
Footballguys view: It's currently unknown why Jackson was absent from the session. Head coach John Harbaugh, asked about the absence, replied: "Injury report comes out on Wednesday afternoon." Jackson threw for 273 yards with an interception and rushed for 122 yards in Baltimore's season-opening loss to Kansas City. The Ravens will host the Raiders on Sunday for their 2024 home opener. We'll watch for more on Jackson in coming days, but at this point, nobody seems overly concerned by about the QB's availability. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 26 of his 41 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown during the team's Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackson also ran the ball 16 times for a game-high 122 yards. The 16 rushing attempts were his most in a single game since Nov. 28, 2021.
Footballguys view: Jackson took the offense on his shoulders against a good Chiefs defense as the line is still a work in progress. He could have had an even better game if he had finished the final drive with a touchdown, so you should feel good about having Jackson as your fantasy quarterback. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) returned to practice on Saturday, July 27.
Footballguys view: This is very good news after Jackson had to leave practice yesterday. He had just returned from a multiday absence due to the unspecified illness. As long this issue doesn't resurface later in camp, we'll file this under "no big deal". |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) did not participate in practice on Friday, July 26, due to illness. Jackson missed the first three training camp practices due to an illness and left practice early upon returning to work on Wednesday.
Footballguys view: This has now risen to the "probably nothing, but should be monitored" level. Josh Johnson is the backup in Baltimore and will be getting extra work with the first team while Jackson and the Ravens get this figured out. Stay tuned. |

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is out for a second consecutive day of training camp. Jackson was sent home with an illness before Sunday's opening practice, and he remains out Monday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner reports.
Footballguys view: Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Jackson's timetable for a return was unclear after the reigning NFL MVP fell ill Saturday. Harbaugh said Jackson would return "when he feels better when he's not sick anymore." Backup Josh Johnson is taking Jackson's first-team reps, with rookies Devin Leary and Emory Jones the other quarterbacks on the roster. Again, there is nothing to panic over here. We'll monitor and report back as needed, but there's no reason to believe this is a long-term issue. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) was sent home from practice due to an illness, the team announced Sunday, July 21.
Footballguys view: This doesn't sound like a big deal. It shouldn't be long before we see Jackson back out there in training camp. We have Jackson ranked as the no.4 fantasy quarterback this year, and Fantasy GMs are expecting him to continue making strides as a passer while maintaining his elite rushing ability. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson probably will not receive more carries this season even though he dropped some weight during the offseason, in the opinion of BaltimoreRavens.com's Ryan Mink. Jackson averaged 9.25 rushing attempts last season.
Footballguys view: The Ravens have Derrick Henry to do the heavy liftin in the backfield. Jackson is going to take off and run under pressure, and that's always going to be part of his game. However, as he gets older it's wise to cut down on those designed runs to save the wear and tear on his body. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson could earn more pre-snap responsibilities in his second year under offensive coordinator Todd Monken, according to recent comments from quarterbacks coach Tee Martin.'It takes him understanding how we're blocking things up front to get us to the best run and the best pass for whatever coverage we're facing. He's accepted it and done a heck of a job of getting us into the right play, and today was probably the best day in a long time of him really just having the freedom to do what he wants to do. We saw some really good plays and some positive gains with him doing that today,' Martin said.
Footballguys view: The Ravens pass offense improved as the season progressed in the first year under Monken, and that was without Mark Andrews for the last third of the season. Zay Flowers will be even better in year two and Rashod Bateman will be healthier. Jackson is going as QB4 in fantasy drafts, but can easily finish as QB1, like he did in his second season in the league. |

It's too late to earn his $750,000 workout bonus. It's not too late to get better prepared for the 2024 season. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has returned to OTAs on Tuesday.
Footballguys view: Jackson, a two-time league MVP, signed a five-year, $260 million contract last year. The deal has $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. According to PFT's Mike Flori, it's unclear why he's been absent up to this point. The workouts are voluntary, but as Florio pointed out, most NFL starting quarterbacks volunteer to attend unless they have a good reason not to be present. Whatever Jackson's reason, the $750,000 workout bonus for 2024 can't be earned. Fortunately, there's no reason to believe this will hurt Jackson's fantasy production. He's QB4 on our Footballguys 2024 Draft Rankings. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said he currently weighs 205 pounds after playing the 2023 season at 215 pounds.
Footballguys view: Jackson bulked up to take the NFL beating last year, and he turned in an MVP season. With the addition of RB Derrick Henry, perhaps the Ravens will be a little less pass-happy than they were last season. About a month ago, Ravens HC John Harbaugh said, â€"There's no doubt†that the offense will look different in 2024. |
Lamar Jackson player page
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson may have fewer rushing attempts with RB Derrick Henry on the team as the Ravens plan to use fewer run-pass option plays. 'I don't see us going towards like [a] specific offense that runs those more than anybody else,' head coach John Harbaugh said. 'RPOs will be a part of what we're doing, for sure, but they're not going to be the main part of what we're doing.'
Footballguys view: Jackson won his second MVP award last season and took his passing game to a different level with career highs in passing yards (3,678) and completion percentage (67.2%). However, Jackson still led all quarterbacks with 821 rushing yards and his ability to stress defenses with his running is something the Ravens don't want to disappear. That said, the addition of Derrick Henry gives them a running back they can lean into and one that will perhaps allow Jackson to be more judicious in his choices to run. |
