| Footballguys view: After suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 last year, playing in Week 5 at age 35 would be semi-miraculous. Then again, Hill has consistently defied the odds since coming into the league. This Saints team hasn't won a game this year and desperately needs a sparkplug. If and when Hill is active, expect him to be deployed in his typical role as a tight end, slot receiver, running back, wildcat quarterback hybrid. But those who can afford to take a wait-and-see approach should. |

New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill (knee) will have his 21-day practice window opened this week, according to head coach Kellen Moore.
| Footballguys view: Head coach Kellen Moore said at a Monday press conference that Hill will start the process of returning to active duty from the physically unable to perform list this week. Hill has been out with a chest injury. Moore is looking forward to adding Hill's offensive versatility to the lineup. "He's obviously had such an impact on this organization for such a long time, and whenever that time comes that he's back on the field, we'll be fired up," Moore said. If Hill isn't activated during his three-week window, he will not be eligible to return this season. |

New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill (knee) suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, according to sources Monday, Dec. 2.
| Footballguys view: Hill left late in the Saints' loss to the Rams Sunday after making five catches for 37 yards and rushing five times for 10 yards. He finished the season with 34 carries for 278 yards and six touchdowns to go with 23 receptions for 187 yards. Hill's 278 rushing yards are the third most by any tight end in a single season in NFL history -- trailing only himself in 2022 and 2023. He exploded in a memorable Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns, becoming only the second player since 1950 to turn in 130-plus rushing yards, three or more rushing TDs, and eight or more receptions. The resulting 43.5 fantasy points were the most by a tight end this season. With Hill out, Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau, more traditional tight ends, are next men up at the position in New Orleans. |

TE Taysom Hill, who was carted off today, is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
| Footballguys view: Hill will undergo an MRI to confirm the initial diagnosis. As Profootballtak.com reports, he was injured on a 2-yard run on fourth-and-1 with 4:49 left. Linebacker Jared Verse was tackling Hill when Cobie Durant went low to take out Hill's legs. Durant's helmet hit Hill squarely in the left knee, which bent back awkwardly. Hill left on a cart, a sign the injury was serious. "It's the worst," quarterback Derek Carr said, via John Hendrix of SI.com. "I don't know anything. Y'all probably know more than me. Just as a brother, as a friend. It's bigger than football at that moment." We'll follow up after the MRI results are revealed. |

| Footballguys view: Hill appeared to take a helmet to his left knee while running for a first down late in the 21-14 loss to the Rams. His knee bent back awkwardly as he fell to the ground, and he remained down as athletic trainers attended to him. Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said Hill would be going through testing and did not have an update about the severity of the injury after the game. "Taysom goes down, a lot of the guys are disappointed," Rizzi said of the team's mood after Hill's injury. "He's obviously a very respected and well-liked guy in our locker room." Hill led the team with five catches for 37 yards and carried the ball five times for 10 yards. We'll be following up as further details come to light. |

Saints tight end Taysom Hill returned to the lineup on Sunday after missing last week's loss to the Eagles with a chest injury, but he couldn't finish the game after an injury to a similar part of the body. After the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen offered an update on Hill's condition. Allen said that Hill did not aggravate the earlier injury and suffered an injury to the ribs on the other side of his body.
| Footballguys view: Hill ran for two touchdowns before leaving the 29-27 loss, leaving Alvin Kamara, who was dealing with a rib injury of his own, to carry the load in the backfield the rest of the way. Those touchdowns were the first two scores of the season for Hill, who left a Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys with a chest injury. Hill was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated with what Fox Sports said was diagnosed as a bruised lung. He did not play in last week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, we'll all have to wait and see if the versatile offensive weapon is available for a Monday night game against the Chiefs in Week 5. |
