49ers | DuJuan Harris released    Mon May 8, 02:08 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris was released Monday, May 8.

Footballguys view: The 49ers are jam packed at the RB position after trading the Broncos for Kapri Bibbs and selecting Joe Williams (Utah) in the 2017 NFL draft. Some team looking for a slashing pass catching back may look at Harris.

49ers | DuJuan Harris won't disappear from game plan    Sun Nov 13, 09:50 AM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is likely to have a decent role in the offense during Week 10's game against the Arizona Cardinals, even though RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is expected to play.

Footballguys view: Hyde could also test the shoulder and decide the better of playing a lot this week, or he could be benched once the game is out of hand, which shouldn't take long. Harris is still an upside flex play this week in PPR leagues.

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris logged 53-of-60 offensive snaps in a Week 9 loss to the New Orleans Saints and may have played his way into a larger role even when Carlos Hyde is fully recovered from his shoulder sprain, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

49ers | DuJuan Harris to handle 'change-up' duties    Fri Nov 4, 01:23 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is expected to be the change-of-pace option in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, assuming Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is able to go, according the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

Footballguys view: Harris is the #2 back now, with Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn looking up at him. If you are planning of carrying a hedge for Hyde on Sunday, Harris is your man.

49ers | DuJuan Harris outplaying Mike Davis     Wed Nov 2, 11:48 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and has five plays of 20-plus yards on 49 touches since signing with the team, and RB Mike Davis is averaging 1.9 yards per carry and has not had a play of longer than 13 yards in 61 career touches.

Footballguys view: It seems Harris has "earned more opportunities," according to offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins, so we might see more of him, and the matchup against the Saints is good but Carlos Hyde is still the lead back in a full blown RBBC. Keep an eye on Harris but don't go getting excited yet.

49ers | DuJuan Harris signed to active roster    Sat Oct 22, 05:18 PM

San Francisco 49ers practice squad RB DuJuan Harris was signed to the active roster Saturday, Oct. 22. The team also waived DT Taylor Hart.

Footballguys view: With Carlos Hyde (shoulder) down, the 49ers need more depth at the RB position. Harris shouldn't see much action against the Bucs this week as he's buried on the depth chart. Mike Davis should be the lead back for the 49ers with Shaun Draughn backing him up.

49ers | Shaun Draughn is the backup     Mon Aug 22, 02:11 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn is the No. 2 running back, according to head coach Chip Kelly. RBs DuJuan Harris and Mike Davis are competing for the No. 3 position.

Footballguys view: Draughn was injured (ribs) during the joint practices with the Broncos last week and missed the team's second preseason game. He'll be the backup to Carlos Hyde, but Draughn may see a large enough role as a receiver to warrant taking him as a last-round flier in deeper PPR leagues.

49ers | DuJuan Harris to be odd-man out?    Wed Aug 3, 11:24 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is projected to be cut by beat writer Grant Cohn, with RBs Carlos Hyde, Shaun Draughn and Kelvin Taylor expected to be the top three backs. Harris is expected to be the odd-man out because he isn't adept at catching the football.

Footballguys view: Chip Kelly wants backs who can be on the field for passing downs, and utilized out of the backfield, neither of which Harris is adept at. Carlos Hyde leads what could be a disappointing backfield, though we think he'll get enough word to warrant a RB2 spot on your roster.

49ers | Two RBs looking to move up order    Tue Jun 21, 01:13 AM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris saw extended reps in the offseason, and he and RB Kelvin Taylor will be looking to move up the depth chart. Currently Harris and Taylor are behind RBs Carlos Hyde and Shaun Draughn in the pecking order.

Footballguys view: Harris is a good all-purpose back, but injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his pro career. Taylor, son of former Jaguars star RB Fred Taylor, is a tough player who is willing to run between the tackles. The rookie never fumbled in his college career at Florida but needs to show better patience and anticipation of cut-back lanes if he wants to play up to his potential as a pro.

49ers | DuJuan Harris does it all    Sun Jan 3, 10:48 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris had 16 carries for 67 yards and eight catches for 86 yards in a 19-16 win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 17.

Footballguys view: Harris had a few shots at extended playing time late this season and did well for himself. He could fit in as a third running back somewhere next season.

49ers | DuJuan Harris shines in start    Sun Dec 27, 09:01 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris had 11 carries for a career-high 73 yards and one catch for 11 yards in a 32-17 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

Footballguys view: Harris seemed to have a shot with Seattle after Thomas Rawls went down, and then was jettisoned only for the 49ers to pick him up and give him a chance this week. He'll be worth a look as a desperation RB next week against St. Louis.

San Francisco 49ers RB Travaris Cadet was released Tuesday, Dec. 22, and Baltimore Ravens RB DuJuan Harris was signed from Baltimore's practice squad. RB Mike Davis (hand) was cleared to begin practice, but he is not eligible to play this week.

Seahawks | DuJuan Harris cut    Tue Dec 15, 05:28 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB DuJuan Harris was released Tuesday, Dec. 15, according to a source.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson will be third-down back    Mon Dec 14, 06:36 PM

Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch not ready    Mon Dec 14, 01:54 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) is at least a week or two away from returning to action after having sports hernia surgery last month. RBs DuJuan Harris and Fred Jackson will be the main ball carriers now with RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) out for the season.

Footballguys view: Without Lynch, the team is going to work both of the backs into the mix. Harris is likely to receive the first crack at the starting duties.

Seahawks | DuJuan Harris replaces Thomas Rawls    Sun Dec 13, 02:07 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB DuJuan Harris took over starting running back duties in light of Thomas Rawls (ankle) being ruled out for the game with an ankle injury.

Footballguys view: Harris has fumbled and been mostly unimpressive through the first half. He's not looking like a priority pickup if Rawls is out for a spell even though the Seahawks are a run-first winning team. The Seahawks could be forced into erring on the side of rushing Marshawn Lynch back early from his hernia surgery.

Seahawks | Paul Richardson to IR    Sat Dec 5, 04:52 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (hamstring) was placed on Injured Reserve Saturday, Dec. 5. RB DuJuan Harris was promoted from the practice squad.

Footballguys view: Richardson had such promise coming out of Colorado just last year. The multiple knee problems he had in college followed him to the pros as he just returned to action (from an ACL injury) in Week 10 before getting hurt again. Now, this hamstring injury will limit him to just one game appearance this year.

Vikings | DuJuan Harris signs    Thu Mar 19, 05:15 PM

Free-agent RB DuJuan Harris (Packers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, March 19.

Footballguys view: An interesting move for Minnesota. Their backfield may not be done changing just yet. We know they're unlikely to release Adrian Peterson, but they may trade him...or they may just keep him. Harris may lack the durability of a featured back, but he is a good receiver out of the backfield with speed to make the corner.

Packers | DuJuan Harris not tendered offer    Mon Mar 9, 07:41 PM

Green Bay Packers exclusive rights free-agent RB DuJuan Harris will not receive a tender offer from the Packers and will become an unrestricted free agent.

Footballguys view: Harris never got a chance after getting banged up for the Packers in 2013. He's a good receiving back with the intent to be a between-the-tackles runner.

Packers | Several in mix for No. 5 RB job    Wed Jul 16, 11:36 PM

If the Green Bay Packers elect to keep five running backs on the roster, there is a wide open battle behind RBs Eddie Lacy, James Starks, DuJuan Harris and FB John Kuhn. RBs Michael Hill, Raijon Neal, LaDarius Perkins and Ina Liaina will try to prove they belong during training camp and the preseason.

Footballguys view: We like Perkins in this race. He's a good all-around talent who is swift with the ball in his hands. Perkins can change direction smoothly and provide the team with a decent receiving option out of the backfield.

Packers | DuJuan Harris hopeful of big return    Thu Jul 10, 01:31 AM

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) is hopeful to return from an injury-plagued 2013 season. He suffered a ruptured right patellar tendon and missed the entire season. 'DuJuan Harris looks like he's back at full strength,' head coach Mike McCarthy said last month. 'He's competing to play just like all the other guys.'

Footballguys view: Eddie Lacy grabbed the starting job in the backfield, but the Packers always like to have some options. With Jonathan Franklin likely retired there is room on the roster for another back. Harris was rumored to be in the mix for the starting job last year but his injury pooched that. Now he'll vie with James Starks for the backup role. Neither one has value in redraft (barring a Lacy injury) but both are worth a deep stash on your bench on dynasty leagues.

Packers | DuJuan Harris could complement other RBs    Wed Jun 25, 07:39 PM

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris' size and explosiveness could complement the bruising styles of RBs Eddie Lacy and James Starks well if he is fully healthy this upcoming season.

Footballguys view: Harris was actually slated to come into the season as sort of an RBBC member with Lacy, so the fact that he's healthy will add a nice change of pace to the backfield. He's worth monitoring (or adding) in super deep dynasty leagues.

Packers | Would like to lessen workload for Eddie Lacy    Wed Jun 25, 06:31 PM

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy is ready for another season of 250 or 300 carries in 2014, but the team would like to lessen the burden for Lacy in an attempt to help keep him healthy.

Footballguys view: Lacy fell to the late second despite possessing the skills of a higher pick because of long-term durability issues, so this is the wise approach for the team that just lost 2014 fourth-round pick Johnathan Franklin to a career-ending neck injury. Lacy can still justify a pick in the first-round with 250 or so carries as long as he gets goal-line work and some receptions, but this certainly takes the luster off of his upside if the Packers stick to it.

Packers | DuJuan Harris hopes to join mix    Mon Jan 6, 09:11 PM

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) is hopeful of being part of a 1-2 running back punch with RB Eddie Lacy next season. He entered training camp as the team's starting running back, but a right knee injury sidelined him in the offseason, recurred in the preseason and landed him on season-ending Injured Reserve. He said at midseason that there was fluid on the knee and irritation of the patellar tendon, but no structural damage after surgery in August. He expects to be ready for the offseason program and organized team activities (OTAs) in the spring.

Footballguys view: Harris has good upside as a change-of-pace runner. He's a good receiver out of the backfield, and Harris can make defenders miss in the open field. He needs his workload limited, so that's why he's a quality backup and not a starter.

Packers | DuJuan Harris was going to have big role on offense    Wed Aug 28, 02:03 PM

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said RB DuJuan Harris (knee) was going to have a big role on offense this season as part of a tandem with RB Eddie Lacy before he was placed on Injured Reserve. 'You have a vision, packages in place on how you're going to start the season. I'll just tell you this: DuJuan was a big part of particularly my individual focus for this season. Last week was really the first opportunity to play DuJuan and Eddie Lacy in a game as kind of a 1-2 type punch format, and that has now changed,' McCarthy said.

Footballguys view: Losing Harris is unfortunate for the team. He was originally listed as a co-starter with rookie Eddie Lacy (Alabama) at the start of camp. Harris could have provided a good change of pace to Lacy because of his swift style and moves in the open field. That change of pace role will now have to be found in guys like Jonathan Franklin, James Starks or Alex Green.

Packers | DuJuan Harris to IR    Tue Aug 27, 01:42 PM

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) has been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss the 2013 season after a negative second opinion on his knee.

Footballguys view: The Packers' starting RB should now be rookie Eddie Lacy (Alabama). The Packers haven't had a 100-yard rusher in last 43 regular-season games (more than twice as long as any other active streak in NFL). That could change with Lacy toting the rock. Lacy is a between the tackles banger who saw 64.7 percent of his rushes there during his time at Alabama. His game is all about yards after contract as he has a bruising style. We'll see if Lacy can stay healthy throughout this season. While in college he was often bothered by nagging injuries even though he was only a 14 game starter.

Packers | DuJuan Harris unable to practice    Tue Aug 27, 12:17 AM

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) missed his second consecutive practice Monday, Aug. 26, after suffering a setback with his knee injury in the team's latest preseason game. He is expected to get a second opinion on the injury.

Footballguys view: Bad news for Harris here. He was originally listed as a co-starter with rookie Eddie Lacy (Alabama) but won't be on the field if he can't get healthy. Lacy has had a mostly positive preseason and is in line to be the week one starter for the Packers. They proved last year that even though they are a pass happy team head coach Mike McCarthy is willing to give someone around 20 carries per game. That someone is Lacy.

Packers | DuJuan Harris uncertain for Week 1    Mon Aug 26, 03:21 PM

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said RB DuJuan Harris (knee) will get a second opinion on his injured knee. McCarthy said he is not sure if Harris will be able to play Week 1.

Footballguys view: Harris and the Packers will be cautious as he comes back from this knee injury. He was competing for the starting job with rookie Eddie Lacy (Alabama). If Harris misses time then it presents a big opportunity for the rookie. When he's ready the Packers could work Harris in as a change of pace back.
