New England Patriots WRs Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell are considered locks as the top four wide receivers. The team is expected to keep one or two more receivers from a list that includes WRs DeAndre Carter, Aaron Dobson, Chris Harper, Devin Lucien, Keshawn Martin and Nate Washington. Dobson has reportedly looked good in training camp so far, but the fact he doesn't play special teams might hurt his chances. Martin received a $600K bonus in January, so he might be the favorite for the No. 5 job.

| Footballguys view: Reports indicate that Washington has struggled to get on the same page with QB Tom Brady during the offseason. Dobson had a lot of drops in college at Marshall, and his lack of concentration has continued as a pro. None of these receivers have much (if any) fantasy relevance even if they do make the 53-man roster. |

| Footballguys view: When Harper came out of Kansas State this year there were some in the scouting community who compared his skill set to that of Anquan Boldin (49ers). Now, Harper will get to learn behind Boldin as a reserve player. Harper is big, strong, and has good hands. He needs to learn how to create better separation in his routes if he wants to play up to his potential as a pro. Harper is a very intriguing prospect to watch in deep dynasty leagues. |

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are expected to be the top four wide receivers. Unless an injury or two occurs, that leaves WRs Phil Bates, Arceto Clark, Chris Harper, Greg Herd Jermaine Kearse, Brett Swain, Justin Veltung, Bryan Walters and Stephen Williams to battle it out for the fifth, and perhaps sixth, receiver job(s). The team kept five receivers last season, but could elect to keep six. Walters reportedly had a strong offseason working in the slot.

He might be feeling the pressure of Percy Harvin and the obstruction he presents for snaps in the slot, along with fourth round pick Chris Harper, who might be next in line to start outside because of his rugged game and surprising speed. Baldwin isn't worth drafting, but deep dynasty PPR league owners should be monitoring him this summer. |

Kansas State WR Chris Harper recorded a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump at the NFL Scouting Combine Sunday, Feb. 24. Florida State WR Rodney Smith, West Virginia WR Stedman Bailey and Washington State WR Marquess Wilson managed jumps of 34 1/2 inches. Texas Christian WR Josh Boyce had a 34-inch jump, while Elon WR Aaron Mellette, Southern California WR Robert Woods, Eastern Washington WR Brandon Kaufman, Lehigh WR Ryan Spadola, Oklahoma WR Kenny Stills, Cincinnati WR Kenbrell Thompkins and Baylor WR Lanear Sampson each checked in with a 33 1/2-inch jump. Louisiana Tech WR Quinton Patton posted a time of 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash Sunday, Feb. 23, at the NFL Scouting Combine. Elon WR Aaron Mellette and Cincinnati WR Kenbrell Thompkins posted a 4.54-second time, while Kansas State WR Chris Harper checked in at 4.55 seconds. Virginia Tech WR Marcus Davis managed 4.56 seconds, while Clemson's DeAndre Hopkins was clocked at 4.57 seconds. South Carolina WR Ace Sanders had a time of 4.58 seconds, while Syracuse WR Alec Lemon and Jacksonville State WR Alan Bonner finished at 4.59 seconds. Southern Methodist WR Darius Johnson checked in at 4.60 seconds, while Eastern Washington WR Brandon Kaufman had a time of 4.67 seconds. Duke WR Conner Vernon was good for 4.68 seconds, and Missouri WR T.J. Moe rounded out the group with a time of 4.74 seconds.
