Rams | Cortez Hankton receiving OC consideration from LAR Fri Feb 18, 02:33 PM
LSU passing game coordinator Cortez Hankton has been requested to interview for the offensive coordinator vacancy with the Los Angeles Rams, according to sources.
Footballguys view: The Rams are looking for someone to replace Kevin O'Connell, the new head coach of the Vikings. They have some in-house candidates like Thomas Brown or Zac Robinson to promote, but they're looking outside the building as well. |

Buccaneers | Cook, others released on cut day Sat Sep 5, 06:33 PM
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released OT Anthony Alabi, CB Kyle Arrington, DT Chris Bradwell, C Rob Bruggeman, PK Matt Bryant, DE Jarriett Buie, S Steve Cargile, WR Patrick Carter, FB Jameel Cook, DT Rashaad Duncan, WR Cortez Hankton, DE Louis Holmes, WR Kareem Huggins, CB Darrell Hunter, OT James Lee, WR Marcus Maxwell, TE Jason Pociask, TE Ryan Purvis, LB Bo Ruud and WR Mario Urrutia. S Donte' Nicholson was waived injured.
Footballguys view: We like TE Ryan Purvis here, and he could find his way to the Bucs practice squad. He was Matt Ryan's security blanket at Boston College, and made a few plays for Tampa Bay this preseason, including catching a 2-point conversion from Josh Johnson. |

Buccaneers | Morris looking for someone to grab No. 3 WR job Tue Aug 18, 04:48 PM
Scott Reynolds, of PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said he is looking for one of the wide receivers on the roster to step up and take the No. 3 wide receiver job. WRs Brian Clark, Maurice Stovall, Cortez Hankton and Sammie Stroughter are among the receivers fighting for the job.
Footballguys view: We love what Sammie Stroughter can do on the football field because of his quickness, body control, and route running ability. However, fantasy owners need to remember that the third WR in Tampa is actually the fourth or fifth target in the passing game behind Antonio Bryant, Kellen Winslow, Michael Clayton, and Derrick Ward. Regardless of who wins the job, there will not be a lot of fantasy production coming from the position. |
