Cardinals | Lowball offer led QB Warner to retire? Sat Jul 9, 08:28 PM
Dave Razzanno, former 20+ year scout, reports via Twitter that Kurt Warner's people told him the veteran QB wanted to continue playing last year but a lowball offer from the Cardinals forced him into retirement.
Footballguys view: Cardinals fans should be upset if this is true. Kurt Warner led the team to a Super Bowl and some feel he could still play at a high level. The Cardinals suffered through a 5-11 record where they burned through guys like Derek Anderson, Max Hall, and John Skelton at the QB position. Arizona was the 31st ranked team in passing offense in 2010 and could have certainly used Warner under center. |

Cardinals | Richard Bartel in running for No. 3 QB job Wed Jun 8, 02:57 AM
Arizona Cardinals QB Richard Bartel is considered a strong candidate for the team's third quarterback job, perhaps battling QB Max Hall for the job if the team trades for a signal caller once the lockout is resolved. Hall might end up on the practice squad.
Footballguys view: The Cardinals are high on the potential of Bartel as a reserve QB. He's bounced around the league during his career but has good athleticism and arm strength. Some feel he could even challenge John Skelton for the second-string job this year. Arizona is likely to add either Kyle Orton or Kevin Kolb via trade to be their starting QB this year. |

Cardinals | Max Hall would like to add some weight Wed May 11, 12:54 PM
Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall said he would to add around 10 pounds during the offseason so he can absorb some hits better next season. He believes he will be more comfortable with the system next season.
Footballguys view: Hall was undrafted out of BYU and was actually forced into the starting lineup as a rookie last year. Adding weight would help him take a beating in the NFL, but we don't feel he'll see the field much this year. Unless injuries hit the depth chart in front of him Hall should be holding a clipboard for most of 2011. |

Arizona Cardinals QB Richard Bartel is believed to have a leg up over QB Max Hall for the No. 3 job, reports Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic.

Cardinals | Max Hall ticketed for practice squad? Sat Apr 9, 03:03 AM
Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall might be best used on the practice squad, reports Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic. However, head coach Ken Whisenhunt has never been a proponent of keeping a QB on the practice squad, because it's hard to get that player enough work and there are more pressing needs at other positions.
Footballguys view: Hall was forced into starting last year but the undrafted free agent from BYU simply wasn't ready. The team would likely be able to sneak him through to the practice squad without another team stealing him away. |

Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall (concussion) has passed his neurological tests and has been cleared to practice Wednesday, Oct. 27, a source told Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic. Hall should start in Week 8 if he does not have any problems during the week.

Cardinals | Max Hall to start Week 5 Wed Oct 6, 01:26 PM
Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall will be the starting quarterback in Week 5, a source told Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic.
Footballguys view: The Cardinals are going with rookie Max Hall this week and we're not completely surprised by this development. Hall was very impressive throughout training camp and the preseason while Derek Anderson has failed to impress as the starter. He doesn't have a big arm like Anderson, but Hall is very intelligent and knows how to accurately throw the underneath routes. |

Cardinals | Unsure about QB Week 5 Sun Oct 3, 10:03 PM
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he is not sure if QB Derek Anderson or QB Max Hall will start in Week 5, reports The Associated Press.
Footballguys view: The Cardinals may decide to move forward with rookie Max Hall here over Anderson. Hall is an efficient quarterback, but lacks the arm strength of an elite prospect. The rookie was very impressive during training camp, and outplayed fellow rookie John Skelton. The team may want to see if Hall can develop into the quarterback of the future, so don't be surprised if he's named the starter going forward. |

Arizona Cardinals QB Derek Anderson went 17-for-31 for 161 yards and two interceptions in Week 2, according to The Associated Press. He was replaced by QB Max Hall late in the game.

Cardinals | Max Hall could start in 2011 Thu Sep 9, 11:19 AM
Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall could be the team's starting quarterback in 2011, according to Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic.
Footballguys view: Hall could start even sooner if Derek Anderson is injured or ineffective this year. He's a smart quarterback who knows how to take what the defense gives him, and Hall could be a decent starter for the Cardinals with the great weapons around him on offense. |

Cardinals | Max Hall to be No. 2 QB Sat Sep 4, 05:05 PM
Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall will be the team's primary backup quarterback entering the season, reports Brad Biggs, of NationalFootballPost.com.
Footballguys view: John Skelton was the rookie quarterback many thought was the QB of the future in Arizona, but he's been outplayed by fellow rookie Max Hall. Our very own Cecil Lammey watched Hall up close during the week of practice for the Shrine Game in Orlando earlier this year and was impressed with the young man's football intelligence. Hall doesn't have a rocket arm, but can buy time in the pocket with his feet and always keeps his eyes downfield. |

Arizona Cardinals rookie QB Max Hall, who has impressed the team's coaches during training camp, led the team to two touchdowns and a field goal in three possessions Thursday, Sept. 2, reports The Associated Press. He hit 7 of 9 passes for 126 yards during the game.
Footballguys view: It's not a stretch to think Hall could start for the Cards at some point this year, which should tell you exactly where this team's QB situation is at right now. |

Cardinals | Impressed with rookie QBs Mon Aug 30, 04:36 PM
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he has been impressed with how QBs John Skelton and Max Hall have performed during training camp and feels more comfortable about the possibility of them being backups if they would decide to let go one of their veteran quarterbacks, reports AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban.
Footballguys view: Good thing, because the team might need to count on one of them by the end of the season. This also keeps open the possibility of Matt Leinart being traded to Seattle if he's not named the starter. |

Arizona Cardinals QB Max Hall appears to have the edge over QB John Skelton in the competition for the team's No. 3 quarterback job, reports The Arizona Republic's Kent Somers.
Footballguys view: Even if Hall wins the #4 QB job, we don't think the Cards can slip Skelton through to the practice squad without having him stolen by another team, so expect the Cards to have to carry four QBs this season if this holds. |

Cardinals | Not talking with Marc Bulger Sat May 22, 10:05 AM
The Arizona Cardinals have not engaged in discussions about signing free-agent QB Marc Bulger (Rams), according to Steve Wyche, of NFL.com. 'We are not actively engaged in discussion with Marc Bulger,' general manager Rod Graves said Friday, May 21. 'If he is interested, we're appreciative, but right now, we're focused on the guys that we have here. QB Matt Leinart has done a great job so far, but so has QB Derek Anderson and our young guys (QBs Max Hall and John Skelton).'
Footballguys view: As of right now the Cardinals are content with the quarterbacks they have on their roster. However, once training camp and preseason get here then we have a feeling the Cardinals could be regretting the decision not to sign Marc Bulger. The veteran has a couple of options on where to sign this year, but doesn't seem to be in any hurry to get a deal done. |

The Arizona Cardinals have signed undrafted rookie free-agent QB Max Hall (BYU) and OT Devin Tyler (Temple), reports Daniel Mogollon, of NFLDraftBible.com.
