Dolphins | Miami may look at several potential backup QBs    Sun Mar 7, 04:04 PM

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Jacoby Brissett, Los Angeles Chargers impending free-agent QB Tyrod Taylor and free-agent QB Robert Griffin III (Ravens) could be possible backup quarterback options for the Miami Dolphins this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Cameron Wolfe.

Footballguys view: If the Dolphins keep Tua Tagovailoa as their starter (there is chatter they could move him to the Texans in part of a deal for Deshaun Watson), then they'll need a veteran backup. Any of these quarterbacks fit the bill, but perhaps Taylor would be the best suited to help guide a young passer like Tagovailoa. Stay tuned.

Ravens | Teams looking at Robert Griffin    Sat Sep 1, 12:04 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Robert Griffin III is drawing trade interest, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Footballguys view: Griffin looked good in the preseason as he tries to get his pro career back on track. With Teddy Bridgewater getting traded to the Saints, other teams in need of a veteran backup could look to Baltimore and the price tag for Griffin. While Bridgewater fetched the Jets a third round pick, Griffin would be a lower cost...perhaps a late round pick for the Ravens.

Ravens | Robert Griffin doesn't play    Thu Aug 30, 11:06 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Robert Griffin III didn't play in the preseason finale against the Washington Redskins Thursday, Aug. 30, but head coach John Harbaugh said the decision to sit Griffin isn't an indication of future roster decisions.

Footballguys view: Lamar Jackson has shown enough to be a backup even though it might be rough at first if he had to fill in for Joe Flacco. Griffin could catch on elsewhere if the Ravens let him go.

Ravens | Joe Flacco more motivated    Wed Jun 13, 01:50 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco appears to be more motivated this offseason as a result of the Ravens drafting QB Lamar Jackson and signing QB Robert Griffin III, according to FS Eric Weddle.

Footballguys view: Flacco has to be feeling the pressure after the Ravens added two quarterbacks this offseason, one (Jackson of course) with a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Under contract through 2020, it seems like Flacco realizes the league is called 'not for long' for a reason. We'll see if Flacco can stay sparked through the 2018 season with so much about his future riding on this season.

Baltimore Ravens QBs Robert Griffin III and Lamar Jackson split the second-team repetitions Thursday, May 24.

Ravens | Robert Griffin could make team    Mon May 7, 03:05 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Robert Griffin III has a chance to make the 53-man roster depending on how QB Lamar Jackson progresses during training camp and the preseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Footballguys view: Jackson has great upside as a quarterback in the NFL. However, his skill set may require some sharpening at the pro level. Griffin has the veteran experience like the guarantee on the box on 'Tommy Boy' and he could easily be the primary backup to Joe Flacco while Jackson develops.

Free-agent QB Robert Griffin III (Browns) agreed to a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, April 4. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Footballguys view: The Ravens were interested in Griffin last year. Griffin should be the backup to Joe Flacco, but is unlikely to see the field unless Flacco gets hurt or bombs this year.

Free-agent QB Robert Griffin III (Browns) said he worked out for the Los Angeles Chargers last summer, almost played for the Baltimore Ravens and has received 'interesting offers' from other teams.

Footballguys view: So long as Griffin keeps himself in shape, there might be a team that gives him a chance to compete in camp next year. The Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, Griffin took the league by storm in his first year. Injuries and problems with head coach Mike Shanahan caused his career to go off track.

Ravens | Baltimore may work out Robert Griffin    Sun Jul 30, 05:56 PM

The Baltimore Ravens are considering the possibility of working out free-agent QB Robert Griffin III (Browns), according to owner Steve Bisciotti.

Footballguys view: Colin Kaepernick was also a possibility, but it appears that fan reaction might have shut down that plan. Griffin hasn't been able to stay healthy in games for years, but he could help the team with practice and preseason reps while Joe Flacco recovers. If he has to start any games in the regular season for the Ravens, they are in trouble.
