Broncos | Week 2 injury report for Denver    Fri Sep 12, 05:56 PM

Denver Broncos TE Nate Adkins (ankle) and LB Dre Greenlaw (quad) were limited in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts. TE Evan Engram (calf), DL John Franklin-Myers (knee), and LB Alex Singleton (thumb) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 12, and no longer appear on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Engram left last week with a calf injury, but is good to go against the Colts. He's a high floor/low ceiling TE1 play this week, and more attractive in PPR leagues and .5 and nonPPR leagues.

Broncos | TE Evan Engram Exits With Calf Injury    Sun Sep 7, 08:39 PM

Broncos tight end Evan Engram was designated as questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with a calf injury, the Fox broadcast announced in the fourth quarter. He did not return.

Footballguys view: Engram twice went into the team's blue medical tent before earning that questionable designation. He had three catches for 21 yards on four targets before exiting the game. Engram, who signed a two-year, $23 million contract with the Broncos this spring, missed eight games due to various injuries with the Jaguars last season. With Engram sidelined, the team's remaining top tight ends on the depth chart were Adam Trautman and Lucas Krull (Nate Adkins was out with an ankle injury). The Broncos play the Colts in Week 2. We'll have to wait and see if Engram is available.

Broncos | QB excited about Evan Engram    Sat Jul 12, 12:15 PM

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix said he has been talking a lot with TE Evan Engram this offseason and is excited to have him join the offense this season.

Footballguys view: We haven't even really seen the real Bo Nix, even though as a rookie he was outstanding down the stretch. Now, Nix gets more talent around him like a quality rushing attack, more receivers than just Courtland Sutton, and a real threat at tight end in Engram. While Engram may not produce like he used to, he's still an incredible upgrade who could catch around 69 passes for the Broncos in 2025.

Broncos | Evan Engram miscast in Denver?    Wed Jun 11, 12:30 AM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram is a 'curious fit' in head coach Sean Payton's offensive scheme, in the opinion of ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who believes Engram lacks the 'physicality' of TE Jeremy Shockey, as well as the 'verticality and ability to win in the red zone' of TE Jimmy Graham -- those were the two tight ends that Barnwell noted had success as the 'Joker' under Payton, a role that Engram was signed to fill during the offseason.

Footballguys view: Barnwell explained that Engram has always been more of a safety valve than a threat with the ball in his hands. Additionally, Barnwell points out that Engram's career-high 963 receiving yards in 2023 came on 143 targets, and he believes it would be a surprise if the volume was there for Engram to reach 140-plus targets again. For fantasy investors, the price -- he's being drafted as TE9 at the end of Round 8 -- isn't so high that we need peak Engram to return value.

Broncos | Coach praises Evan Engram    Sat Jun 7, 11:45 AM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram has show 'real good instincts' during OTAs, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Footballguys view: Payton has been looking for his 'joker' on offense, and that's why the team went out and got Engram this offseason. Engram's season was cut short last year, but if healthy he's in line to catch 65-70 passes from Bo Nix. His touchdowns won't push him to the top of the tight end pack, but low-end TE1 production is there for Engram in 2025.

Broncos | Evan Engram could see limited offseason work    Mon May 26, 06:12 PM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram (shoulder) may see a limited workload during offseason workouts because he is recovering from a shoulder injury.

Footballguys view: The Broncos signed Engram to a two-year, $23 million deal to serve as a "Joker" -- an elite pass-catching TE or RB -- in Sean Payton's offense. A first-round pick of the Giants in 2017, Engram had 114 receptions for Jacksonville in 2023. He was on pace for 89 catches last year when he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 9. He'll be limited to save wear and tear on that shoulder, but there's no reason to believe he won't be ready for full duty come Week 1.

Jaguars | Surgery for Evan Engram    Wed Dec 18, 03:16 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) underwent surgery Monday, Dec. 16, to repair the torn labrum in his shoulder, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Footballguys view: Engram signed a three-year, $41.25 MM contract with the team in July, and comes with a $13.5 million dead cap hit should the Jags cut him pre-June 1. A new staff may want to move on from the veteran tight end, or they may see the cap hit as something they don't want to deal with.

Jaguars | Evan Engram placed on IR    Sat Dec 14, 03:18 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Footballguys view: Engram will have surgery on a torn labrum and is out for the season. He signed a three-year extension with the team back in July, so he's most likely going to be their top tight end in 2025 when healthy. We'll see what kind of changes happen to the staff and the players around Engram this offseason.

Jaguars | Evan Engram's season over    Fri Dec 13, 10:30 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum that will require surgery.

Footballguys view: The extent of Engram's injury was discovered when the team did additional scans this week. Previous head coach Doug Pederson said he thought Engram would play, so keep that in mind when we hear early week player availability declarations this late in the season. Brenton Strange joins the streaming tight end parade and Engram teams could be using his backup or someone else from the wire this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) suffered an unspecified shoulder injury during the Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Doug Pederson revealed on Monday, Dec. 9.

Footballguys view: Engram caught 4-of-6 targets for 33 yards in the Jaguars' Week 14 win over the Titans. He missed time earlier this year, so we'll have to see what Engram does (or does not do) this week in practice.

Jaguars | Evan Engram surpasses 100-yard mark    Sun Oct 13, 12:46 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram caught 10 passes for 102 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 6. He was targeted 10 times during the game.

Footballguys view: Engram did lose a fumble, but it's undeniable that he was a positive addition to a somewhat meek Jaguars passing game. Unfortunately for fantasy players, while Engram does add another viable tight end for fantasy leagues, the Jaguars passing game now has four viable targets with Gabe Davis also scoring twice today, making it more difficult to feel good starting Christian Kirk or Brian Thomas Jr.

Jacksonville Jaguars S Daniel Thomas (hamstring), WR Gabe Davis (knee), TE Evan Engram (hamstring) and LB Yasir Abdullah (neck) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable for Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. LB Devin Lloyd (knee), S Darnell Savage (quad), RB Travis Etienne (shoulder) and CB Tyson Campbell (hamstring) were also limited in practice all week but no longer appear on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Engram was supposed to return this week, but it's not a sure thing yet that he will play Sunday morning in London. Etienne being off of the injury report is a good sign for his Week 6 outlook, along with the team reaffirming that he is the lead back.

Jaguars | Pederson Optimistic About Evan Engram Returning In Week 6    Mon Oct 7, 02:45 PM

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson believes TE Evan Engram, who has not played since Week 1 due to a hamstring injury, is likely to return for Sunday's game in London vs. the Bears. "I think the chances of him getting back in here this week are pretty good," Pederson said.

Footballguys view: That was also Pederson's view this time last week. So, while the additional week of treatment makes it more likely, fantasy managers will want to follow Engram's progress in practice this week. Brenton Stange has been serviceable in Engram's absence and will continue to fill in if necessary. But Engram's return would be a boost for this offense.
