Updating previous reports, free-agent DE Dorance Armstrong (Cowboys), LB Frankie Luvu (Panthers), DE Dante Fowler (Cowboys) and S Jeremy Chinn (Panthers) officially signed with the Washington Commanders Friday, March 15. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed, but earlier reports stated Armstrong signed a three-year, $45 million contract, Luvu signed a three-year, $36 million deal and Chinn signed a one-year contract worth as much as $5.1 million.

Carolina Panthers DT Derrick Brown (non-injury), DE Yetur Gross-Matos (illness) and OT Russell Okung (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 30. S Jeremy Chinn (hip), OG Dennis Daley (ankle), CB Donte Jackson (toe), DT Kawann Short (foot) and LB Adarius Taylor (hip) were limited during practice.

Carolina Panthers S Jeremy Chinn appears to be close to nailing down a starting spot as a rookie, according to comments made by head coach Matt Rhule on Tuesday, Aug. 25.'Jeremy Chinn is going to play a lot for us, whether it's at safety or the big nickel... If we went out there and played today, he would probably be starting for us,' Rhule said.

Carolina Panthers CB Jeremy Chinn said he participated in video meetings with several defensive groups this offseason and believes he will be able to line up at multiple positions.
| Footballguys view: Chinn should be a box safety and very valuable right away in IDP leagues playing on a team that is likely to trail a lot this year. He should be drafted in redraft leagues along with being a top 3 safety in dynasty rookie drafts. |
