Texas Christian QB Trevone Boykin has received an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine and he will be working out with the quarterbacks. According to sources, Boykin has also been doing receiver work during his combine preparation, but there are no current plans for him to run routes or catch passes at the combine or his pro day at TCU.
| Footballguys view: Boykin is another guy whose off-field issues are a problem (he was arrested for a bar brawl and suspended for his team's Alamo Bowl appearance) but the trickier aspect is his game. Is he a receiver or can he make it as a quarterback? Teams might be leaning towards him as merely a signal caller, since there are no plans for him to run routes, but there are a lot of miles yet to go in this process. |
