Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley ran 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders, while adding two receptions for 14 yards on three targets. He had his day end early in the fourth quarter with the Eagles way ahead.
Footballguys view: Barkley didn't break free for a long score, but he did still find paydirt once in the easy win and got enough rushing volume to post a decent RB1 line for the second straight week.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) fully participated in practice Saturday, Nov. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.
Footballguys view: Barkley is ready to go after a groin injury bothered him back in Week 8. With a Week 9 bye and a full participation in practice, Barkley should be counted on at his normal RB1 projections in Week 10 against the Packers.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 7.
Footballguys view: Barkley picked up a groin injury late in Week 8 but immediately downplayed the severity. He rested up over his Week 9 bye and should be at full strength in this week's game against the Packers. Barkley finally broke out last week with some big runs that had evaded him early in the year. Fire him up as a plug-and-play RB1.

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) likely could have returned to the game if it were closer, according to sources. The injury isn't believed to be serious.
Footballguys view: Again, this falls into line with Barkley's post-game comments, and it was also the Eagles' official company line. Per the team, he could have returned to the game if needed. He wasn't. But, as Profootballtalk.com noted his morning, Barkley will be needed in 15 days, when the Eagles visit the Packers. The bye week will give Barkley plenty of time to get back up to full speed. Barkley had his best game of the season against the Giants. He rushed for 150 yards with a touchdown on just 14 carries. He caught four passes for 24 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley did not play in the final quarter of Sunday's win over the Giants because of a groin injury he sustained on a 28-yard run at the end of the third quarter. Barkley indicated he might have played down the stretch if the score was closer, however, and didn't express any concern about being ready for the Packers game in Week 10 following the team's bye.
Footballguys view: Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio reported the same during a Sunday Night Football pre-game appearance. Barkley had a breakout performance against his former team Sunday, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown to pace the Eagles in their 38-20 win over the New York Giants. We'll continue to monitor throughout the Eagles' off week, with more definitive information likely to come when the team begins preparing for Week 10.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries against the New York Giants in Week 8 before leaving the game because of a groin injury. He also caught four passes for 24 yards and one touchdown during the game.
Footballguys view: The injury looked like a minor nick or bump and Barkley will have his bye next week. Before the injury, Barkley's 65-yard score looked just like the 2024 Barkley that won championships for us. Tank Bigsby also ran hot, going over 100 yards on only nine carries. He's the pickup if you want Barkley injury insurance or if you're willing to hold a speculative value backup running back through their bye.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 44 yards on 18 carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.
Footballguys view: Barkley seemed to get shaken up at one point in the game, possibly a shoulder issue, and otherwise couldn't find room to run against the Vikings. He has been one of the more disappointing players of the first round of fantasy drafts, but the Eagles vertical passing game came to life in a good sign for the viability of the offense and touchdown opportunities to come for Barkley. Next, he'll face his old Giants team for the second time in three weeks.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (knee) is dealing with some soreness but is expected to play in the Week 6 game, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Barkley, 28, had just six rushing attempts and just nine total touches in the Eagles' 21-17 loss to the Broncos on Sunday at the Linc. But this is the first we have heard of a knee injury. Although he was listed as a nonparticipant, the Eagles did not have an actual practice on Monday and will not have one all week as they prepare to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday Night Football on short rest. So Monday's injury report is an estimation. Expect Barkley to start and play as usual, barring further notice.

The Eagles listed RB Saquon Barkley as a non-participant on their estimated injury report because of a knee injury.
Footballguys view: Barkley has just 83 carries for 267 yards through five games this year. It's his worst five-game stretch as an Eagle. After gaining more than 2,000 yards in 16 games last season, Barkley is on pace for less than 1,000 yards in 17 games this season. There's no indication any of this is injury-related -- or that Barkley is in danger of missing Thursday's game against his former team. But we'll watch for more.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed six times for just 30 yards in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, but he added three receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown on his three targets.
Footballguys view: Barkley got loose for a long receiving touchdown to salvage what would have otherwise been a very poor fantasy showing. The good news is that Nick Sirianni is highly unlikely to abandon the run again after the Broncos came back from a 17-3 deficit in the fourth quarter. Barkley also looked as fast as ever running down the ball while it was in the air for his touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed 18 times for 46 yards in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, and he added four receptions for just nine yards on five targets.
Footballguys view: Barkley hasn't gotten going yet and stalwart right tackle Lane Johnson got hurt in this game, but the good news is that the Eagles pass offense woke up after two and a half games of slumber under new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Things will be rough for Barkley next week against the Bucs, but overall, better fantasy days are ahead for him.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was fined $46,371 by the National Football League for an act of unnecessary roughness/use of the helmet in Week 2's game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. No flag was thrown on the play.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley faces the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, and in two meetings with the Rams last season, Barkley ran for a combined 460 yards and scored four total touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Barkley gives a lot of team nightmares. This year, Barkley has no carries over 20 yards - yet - and this could be the week he looks like he did last season. Every team is working to slow him down, but the Eagles give him a ton of work as the centerpiece of their offense. He's a no-brainer RB1 each week.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 1,245 yards and eight touchdowns during the second half of games during the 2024 season. He posted 760 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in the first half of games.
Footballguys view: The Eagles will want to keep Barkley fresh after a 480+ touch season when the postseason is added to his final numbers. 2024 fourth round pick Will Shipley had a great spring and should play the Kenneth Gainwell role at a minimum after Gainwell signed with Pittsburgh in free agency. AJ Dillon is coming back from a neck injury and could be the early down backup, but Shipley is talented enough to claim that role too. When you are putting together a list of backup running backs to target late in your draft, Shipley should be on it.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley totaled 436 carries, including the playoffs, during the 2024 season, which matched the highest number of carries in a season since 2000 -- former Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray logged an identical 436 carries in 2014.
Footballguys view: Despite the massive workload, Barkley claims there are no aftereffects. "I feel really good," he said last month. "Like I'm entering my prime." But the concern is obvious. As Footballguy Gary Davenport pointed out, of the 30 running backs to surpass 370 carries in a season since 1980, only one, Eric Dickerson in 1984 (when he set the NFL all-time rushing record), gained more rushing yards the following year. Forty percent saw their production drop by over half. That said, Barkley is still this year's RB1, according to current ADP data, going with the second pick overall.

Philadelphia Eagles RB P Saquon Barkley has been calculated when balancing training and recovery this offseason, ensuring he's as fresh as possible when players report to training camp. However, multiple players publicly expressed the need for the offense to evolve from last year's run-heavy attack, according to Andrew DiCecco of Inside The Birds.
Footballguys view: Recovery only becomes more critical as we age. And Barkley, coming off 482 touches and heading into his age-28 season, knows that. The Eagles can spend all offseason talking about their plans. But when the games kick off, they'll likely lean on their superstar running back the same way they did last year.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed 25 times for 57 yards in Super Bowl LIX to set the NFL season rushing record, postseason included, surpassing the mark of 2,476 yards set by Terrell Davis.
Footballguys view: Heading into the matchup, Barkley, named the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday, needed only 30 yards to move past Davis' 1998 mark. He did so on the final play of the first half with a 2-yard run. Barkley's 2,447 yards were second all-time in a single season heading into the game, having surpassed Davis' 1997 showing of 2,331 yards in last month's NFC Championship Game win over the Washington Commanders. He became the first player in NFL history to record over 2,500 rushing yards in a season, including the playoffs. Expect Barkley to be in the 1.01 conversation as we head into the 2025 draft season.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 17 of his 22 passes 221 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and ran 11 times for 72 yards and a score in a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. RB Saquon Barkley rushed 25 times for 57 yards and caught six passes for 40 yards. WR DeVonta Smith had four catches for 69 yards and a touchdown, and WR A.J. Brown added three grabs for 43 yards and a score. CB Cooper DeJean returned an interception for a touchdown, and DE Josh Sweat had 2.5 of Phildelphia's six sacks.
Footballguys view: While Hurts, whose cell phone screen saver for the past two years has been a photo of him walking off the Super Bowl LVII field in Arizona surrounded by yellow and red confetti after losing to the Chiefs, was absolutely stellar en route to earning Super Bowl MVP honors, the defense shouldn't be overlooked. The Eagles forced three turnovers and held Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense to 275 yards. "This is the ultimate team game. You can't be great without the greatness of others. Great performance by everybody -- offense, defense, special teams," head coach Nick Sirianni said while holding up the Lombardi Trophy. "We didn't really ever care what anyone thought about how we won, or their opinions. All we want to do is win."

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was named The Associated Press' Offensive Player of the Year Thursday, Feb. 6.
Footballguys view: Let's call this the "best offensive player that isn't a quarterback" award. Barkley's true potential was reached in a diverse running game that leveraged the best offensive line in the league into one of the best single season performances by a running back in NFL history. If the Eagles can win Super Bowl LIX, he'll surely be a big reason why.

Footballguys view: The Eagles have a lot of time before they have to be ready to play the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, so this bye-week injury report isn't determinative. That said, Smith's injury bears watching. As Profootballtalk.com notes, Smith was not listed on Philadelphia's report last week. He was on the field for 83 percent of the Eagles' offensive snaps in the NFC Championship Game and caught all four targets for 45 yards. Gainwell, who has to work through the concussion protocol, also bears watching. Goedert, Dickerson, and Jurgens also bear watching. Running back Saquon Barkley and receiver A.J. Brown should be non-issues, but we'll follow up as needed.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was awarded a $250,000 bonus for the Eagles winning the NFC Championship Game, and he could receive another $250,000 if they win the Super Bowl.
Footballguys view: Barkley originally signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles last March after his six-year run with the New York Giants ended. He proceeded to post career numbers as Philadelphia's top offensive weapon, becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for at least 2,000 yards. Barkley ended the 2024 regular season just 101 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson's all-time single-season mark. Barkley was also fantasy's RB1 overall through Week 17 (Jahmyr Gibbs moved past him when Barkley sat out Week 18) and will be a prime candidate to be the No. 1 pick overall in 2025 drafts.
