There wasn't much of an update on quarterback Trevor Lawrence's condition during Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson's press conference on Monday. Lawrence remains in the concussion protocol after being knocked out of Sunday's loss to the Texans on an illegal hit by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaiir, and Pederson said that Lawrence did not aggravate his left shoulder injury on the play. Pederson said that the team will let Lawrence progress through the protocol before thinking about a possible return and noted that "where we are as a team" will join Lawrence's health as a consideration. "You gotta take it all into consideration obviously and make a smart choice," Pederson said.
| Footballguys view: The Jaguars are 2-10 heading into the final five games of the season, and there was already talk of Lawrence having shoulder surgery, so it would not come as a great shock if his next game action doesn't come until next season. If that's the case, Mac Jones will continue to serve as the starter. Jones would only be of interest in the deepest of two-QB and Superflex leagues. |

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (concussion) has been ruled out of the Week 13 game because of a concussion.
| Footballguys view: Lawrence was making his first start since Week 10 when he suffered a sprained left AC joint in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He missed the Jaguars' next two games -- losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions -- and the Jaguars had a Week 12 bye, giving Lawrence a month to recover. He had completed 4 of 10 passes for 41 yards and an interception before the injury. The injury came on a hit from Houston linebacker Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. Lawrence was sliding when Al-Shaair, who was penalized and ejected, delivered a blow to the head with his forearm. This is the second concussion for Lawrence -- who left the Jaguars locker room with his wife and walked to the players' parking lot behind the team's training facility adjacent to EverBank Stadium -- in less than a year. He also suffered a concussion in a Week 15 loss to Baltimore in December of 2023. Mac Jones, who played well against the Texans in relief of Lawrence, will be the starter until Lawrence is cleared -- if he's cleared this season. |

He's a big-bodied receiver who knows how to use his body to box out smaller defenders. Cooks has length and a vertical leap that allows him to play 'above the rim' which helps near pay dirt. | Footballguys view: With 2:56 remaining in the third quarter in the blowout loss to the Lions, Davis went down with a knee injury. The team's medical staff quickly ruled him out. The injury appeared to be non-contact, with Davis running before coming up lame on an untargeted route. Jacksonville brought in Davis via free agency this offseason. He has caught 19 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns through nine games. Davis missed one game with a shoulder injury. He sustained the injury in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers. We'll have more on his status going forward in coming days. The Jaguars have a Week 12 bye. |
