Rams | Tyler Higbee activated from IR Sat Jan 3, 04:18 PM
Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (ankle) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Jan. 3, and he is expected to play in the Week 18 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Footballguys view: Higbee has been out of action on IR since Week 11. Now, he's got a game to shake off the rust before the Rams begin their playoff run. Higbee may not get much work with the Rams almost certainly locked into the no.6 seed.

Dallas Cowboys RB Phil Mafah (shoulder) was activated from the Reserve/Injured Designated to Return list on Saturday, Jan. 3. He is expected to join RB Jaydon Blue in the backfield for the Week 18 game against the New York Giants with RBs Javonte Williams and Malik Davis out for the finale.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue is expected to start in Week 18 against the New York Giants. He last appeared in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos, and he has posted 65 rushing yards on 22 carries, or 3.0 yards per carry, with no touchdowns through four games.
Footballguys view: Malik Davis and Javonte Williams have been ruled out, so Blue is in line for a big workload in Week 18. He's been limited this year with Williams having a breakout season and Davis performing well as a reserve. We'll see if Blue can be a reliable option on Sunday against the Giants.
Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams (neck, shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Saturday, Jan. 3.
Footballguys view: It's been a good year for Williams. He finished the season with a career highs of 1,201 rushing yards, 4.8 rushing yards per carry and 11 touchdowns across 16 games. Williams is set to hit free agency, and the Cowboys would like him back if they can afford his services. He'll be one of the hottest backs on the open market later this spring.

Washington Commanders QB Josh Johnson will start Week 18's game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footballguys view: Johnson gets another start here as the Commanders are playing out their disappointing 2025 season. He loves to hit shorter passes and stay safer with the football, so Johnson should only be considered a QB2 in deep superflex leagues.

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams (ankle) is expected to play in Week 18's game versus the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: The Rams aren't going to rest starters, according to HC Sean McVay. Williams should be in line for his lead-back workload. However, there's a chance guys like Ronnie Rivers or Jarquez Hunter could get more involved with the Rams pretty much locked into the no.6 seed.
Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney (knee) is expected to play in Week 18's game versus the New Orleans Saints, according to head coach Raheem Morris.
Footballguys view: Multiple injuries have left Mooney pretty much ineffective in 2025. With Kyle Pitts and Drake London set to play against the Saints, there's a chance Mooney doesn't do much (which is as per usual in recent weeks).

Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London (knee) is expected to play in Week 18's game versus the New Orleans Saints, according to head coach Raheem Morris.
Footballguys view: London is clearly not himself, but he's giving it a go in the season finale. Against the Saints, we think London could post high-end WR2 numbers for Fantasy GMs still playing in Week 18.
Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) is expected to play in Week 18's game versus the New Orleans Saints, according to head coach Raheem Morris.
Footballguys view: Against the Saints on Sunday afternoon, Pitts should post TE1 numbers. With other weapons ready to play (like Drake London), Pitts may only post low-end TE1 numbers at the position in Week 18.

New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson needs 142 yards in Week 18 to become the first New England rookie to reach 1,000 rushing yards since Robert Edwards in 1998.
Footballguys view: Henderson has been an amazing player for the Patriots this year. It took some time for him to get going, but Henderson has been a big part of their offense since his breakout in Week 8. Against the Dolphins on Sunday, Henderson should be considered an RB2 with upside. There's a chance he gets to that 1,000-yard mark.
Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua has four games this season with at least 150 receiving yards, which leaves him one game shy of tying for the most in a single season in NFL history.
Footballguys view: The Rams are at home against the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Rams HC Sean McVay has said that he won't rest starters in Week 18, even though they're almost assuredly going to be the no.6 seed on the NFC side of the bracket.

New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough has three straight games with at least 250 passing and zero interceptions, tying him for the longest streak by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.
Footballguys view: Shough and the Saints travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons on Sunday. Shough could get that record all to himself if he throws for over 250 yards and no interceptions. We've got him projected as a high-upside QB2 in Week 18, so it's quite possible the Saints rookie quarterback will own that record to himself.
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence has recorded 35 total touchdowns this season, putting him two behind the team record of 37 set by QB Blake Bortles in 2015.
Footballguys view: Lawrence is playing with a ton of confidence in recent weeks. His season started out rough under HC Liam Coen, but it just took some time for things to click. Lawrence has been better about sticking with his reads, and he's not taking unnecessary chances much anymore. He's clearly comfortable in the system, and his play is one of the reasons why Jacksonville should be a tough out in the playoffs.

Louisiana State University WR Zavion Thomas announced on his social media account that he is declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Footballguys view: Thomas is a playmaker as a wide receiver and return man. He can line up in the backfield on gadget plays, run routes to get open with quickness, and Thomas is dangerous with the ball in space. Think Kalif Raymond when you think of a pro comparison for Thomas, and he could end up as a Day 3 steal in the 2026 NFL Draft.
University of Texas TE Jack Endries announced that he is entering the 2026 NFL Draft.
Footballguys view: Endries is one of the top move tight ends in the 2026 NFL Draft. He's got the ability to get open against slower linebackers, and Endries can make things happen after the catch. Known for his versatility, Endries can move around the formation even though he is a bit undersized (240 pounds) for an in-line tight end. Early projections have him going in the second or third round, and some in the scouting community say there's some Tucker Kraft to his game.
Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph could begin interviewing for head coaching jobs starting on Wednesday, Jan. 7, if the Broncos clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC, according to Sports Illustrated's Conor Orr.
Footballguys view: Joseph was the head coach of the Broncos for a couple of seasons, but he didn't have much success (or support from the front office). His defense is one of the best in the league, and he's learned a ton from Sean Payton over the last few years. We're certain that his next chance at head coach is going to go better than his first chance did. Perhaps a team like the Giants would be interested, and Joseph may bring Davis Webb (Broncos QB coach) with him wherever he goes.
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is 'one name that could be of interest' to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if the Buccaneers to decide to move on from head coach Todd Bowles, according to Albert Breer of SI.com.
Footballguys view: Kubiak has made a name for himself as an offensive coach over the years with a few teams. He's the son of Super Bowl-winning coach Gary Kubiak, and his name carries a sterling reputation in NFL circles. The Buccaneers are trying to find more spark on offense, and Kubiak's West Coach (Shanahan) offense would provide just that.

S Jeremiah Pharms Jr. was released, while OL Brenden Jaimes and DL Leonard Taylor III was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad.
Link to storySan Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (back) is not on the injury report, and ready for the Week 18 game against the Seattle Seahawks. However, there is some wet weather in the Bay Area, but it is not expected to impact how McCaffrey is used in the NFC West title game. There is a 45 percent chance of rain showers, so it could be a slippery track.

New York Jets WR Adonai Mitchell enters Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills with 301 receiving yards on 24 receptions in seven games since coming over from the Indianapolis Colts. He needs 95 receiving yards to surpass the injured WR Garrett Wilson, who hasn't caught a pass since Oct. 12, for the team lead.

Los Angeles Rams OG Kevin Dotson (ankle) is still a question mark for Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals. OG Justin Dedich continues to fill in admirably in Dotson's absence.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams OT Alaric Jackson (knee) is expected to return for Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals. OT D.J. Humphries was disastrous in a Week 17 appearance in Jackson's place, as he nullified a pair of big plays by WR Puka Nacua, including a touchdown, while getting beaten on a fourth-down play to stymie run by RB Kyren Williams in the red zone.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams WRs Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith have been playing ahead of WR Tutu Atwell in recent games because of the need for strong run blockers with WR Davante Adams (hamstring) sidelined.

Los Angeles Rams S Quentin Lake is back, and he is a huge boon to the defense in multiple ways. DLs Jared Verse and Byron Young managed 13 combined sacks in 10 games with Lake patrolling the secondary, but in six games without him, they managed just 4.5 sacks. And, in the first 10 games with Lake on the field, the rushing defense allowed just 100.7 yards per game on the ground, while going for 133.0 per game in six outings without him.
Link to storyDenver Broncos OG Ben Powers (biceps) is expected to return to the starting lineup for Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He had been alternating with OG Alex Palczewski after returning from biceps surgery. He wasn't thrilled with the idea at first, but accepted it. 'At first, I didn't like it, but being out for 10 weeks, it was the smart thing to do,' Powers said Saturday, Jan. 3.
