Commanders | More solid reviews for RB Rachaad White Tue Jun 23, 02:34 PM
Washington signed Rachaad White this offseason to fortify its depth and provide a pass-catching threat out of the backfield. White looked spry and showed his speed while catching passes out of the backfield this spring.
Footballguys view: This reporting, by ESPN.com's John Keim, confirms what we heard throughout OTAs and minicamp. White signed with the Commanders in March to give them veteran depth at the position. Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt is in line for a larger role, but White could provide the team with pass-catching ability out of the backfield. The Commanders also drafted Penn State RB Kaytron Allen in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but Croskey-Merritt and White sit atop the depth chart heading into training camp.
According to ESPN.com's Brady Henderson, in the six full-squad practices that were open to reporters, it was George Holani -- not first-round pick Jadarian Price or free agent pickup Emanuel Wilson -- who tended to get the first crack at running back reps with the No. 1 offense.
Footballguys view: Holani, a 2024 undrafted free agent, is squarely in Seattle's backfield plans for 2026. Holani is looking to build off his strong finish to 2025, when he performed well as a fill-in for Zach Charbonnet. Holani is being drafted as RB75 right now, well behind Price, Charbonnet, and Wilson.
George Holani player page
Much like in 2025, Cowing had a strong offseason program, consistently making big plays down the field in team drills and 7-on-7. Cowing even caught the attention of veteran wideout Mike Evans. "He has a lot of juice, and he can add a lot to this team," Evans said. "The speed down the field, the quickness. He's having a few really good weeks, and he's made a lot of plays."
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner reported, Cowing was unable to capitalize on a strong spring last year as a series of hamstring injuries kept him out all season. If he can stay healthy, he should have a chance to carve out a role as a returner with some opportunities in the passing game behind Evans and Ricky Pearsall. But with Christian Kirk, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Demarcus Robinson also in the mix, Cowing will have his work cut out for him.
Jacob Cowing player page
Terrance Ferguson, a second-year tight end, is part of a crowded position group, including rookie second-round pick Max Klare. But several people in the Rams' building have pointed to Ferguson as a player they think will take a big step forward in Year 2.
Footballguys view: Tight end Tyler Higbee said while the position is "one of the tougher" spots to transition from college to the NFL, Ferguson has "got it." "He's going to be a great player," Higbee said. In addition to Ferguson and Higbee, the Rams have Colby Parkinson, rookie Max Klare, and veteran Davis Allen at the position. Despite the team's heavy use of two- and three-TE sets, fantasy investors will want to watch camp this summer to see who among them starts earning consistent looks.
Duvernay, who signed a one-year deal in March and is on his fourth team in four years, showcased his speed throughout OTAs and minicamp in drills on offense and special teams.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss noted, Duvernay's quickness will add a dynamic element to the Cardinals' return game and, if/when he's used, as a receiver. Fantasy investors, however, should realize that Durvernay will likely compete for Greg Dortch's role on special teams and in the offense. Footballguy Matt Waldman believes this could lead to occasional fantasy value, but not a predictable amount.
Devin Duvernay player page
This won't shock a lot of people, considering WR Tez Johnson was pressed into action extensively last year in his rookie season and had five touchdowns, but in arguably the most competitive room on the team, Johnson stood out. He had two touchdown catches from Jake Browning in their final practice and caught several others.
Footballguys view: Johnson is one of the smallest players in the NFL. But Footballguy Matt Waldman notes that Johnson is also a tough and dynamic receiver in the middle of the field who can turn a short player into a long gain. The second-year man will compete for the fourth spot on the WR depth chart and should earn a role as a return specialist and big-play slot option who can become a fantasy factor if injuries to Chris Godwin and/or Jalen McMillan occur.
The Panthers got some side-eye from critics when they drafted a wide receiver in the third round, with Tetairoa McMillan, the 2025 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, already on the roster. But the 6-5 Brazzell, a lengthy playmaker, is making believers out of Carolina fans as an impact player in OTAs and minicamp.
Footballguys view: In this year's Rookie Draft Guide, Footballguy Jeff Bell noted the Panthers love big receivers with speed. Brazzell fits their type. McMillan is the clear top receiver, and Jalen Coker is emerging and capable as a second receiver. Brazzell signals the potential end of hope with Xavier Legette, but his speed is perfect given the current room. Brazzel is a boom-or-bust pick who is in a situation that could create a breakout.
It can be difficult to gauge receiver skill sets in spring practices, when NFL rules prohibit physical coverage techniques. But ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert believes it was eye-opening to see Dillon Bell -- an undrafted rookie from Georgia -- working extensively with the second team during drills.
Footballguys view: According to Seifert, that placement spoke volumes about his initial impression with Vikings coaches, who, in essence, were putting him in the (early) mix to be the No. 4 receiver behind Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings. He'll be a player to watch in training camp.
As a rookie, Lions WR Isaac TeSlaa scored six touchdowns off 16 receptions while playing a limited role alongside Detroit's strong offensive weapons, such as Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. But now the second-year WR is ready to get more involved with the support of coach Dan Campbell. Campbell is impressed and said TeSlaa "feels like a veteran right now."
Footballguys view: "This time, for Year 2, is exactly where we want him," Campbell said. "I would say probably even a little bit more." According to Footballguy Matt Waldman, TeSlaa will get to play some of the old Kenny Golladay/Chase Claypool role for the Lions as a third receiver who gets great matchups because Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jamison Williams command so much attention. Waldman added the true test for TeSlaa would come if Jameson Williams got hurt. For now, TeSlaa has bye-week value with low-end fantasy WR2 upside if injuries strike.
Saints fourth-round pick Bryce Lance got his time to shine during minicamp with Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson limited and a number of other wideouts hurt. Lance made it count during the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods, working with both the first- and second-team quarterbacks. He scored a touchdown in 11-on-11 red zone work on a pass from Spencer Rattler on the final day of minicamp and also had a touchdown from Tyler Shough in 7-on-7s that day.
Footballguys view: ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell acknowledges Lance might not get as many reps when the other receivers get healthy, but he has potential. Footballguy Jeff Bell believes Lance could push Devaughn Vele to be the third receiver, though the two have different skillsets, with Vele a better blocker and Lance opening defenses with vertical speed. Even in a potentially limited opening role, Lance merits attention. His top-level athleticism could make him the clear fill-in if Olave or Tyson were to miss time. Bell added that there is underrated long-term value here if Lance's play and Olave's contract demands diverge.
Zavion Thomas, the lightning-fast receiver who ran a 4.28-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, got ample reps as a punt returner this spring and showed that he can be more than a special teams star with his skill set on offense. "He tends to make a play almost every single day right now that says, OK, if we can harness all of this energy and make sure that we can trust him and he's going to align where he needs to and run the route the way we need him to, that we really could use him and he could be a big weapon for us this year," Bears coach Ben Johnson said.
Footballguys view: That's a lot of "ifs," but Footballguy Sigmund Bloom believes the Bears may see potential for Thomas to switch to running back, where he looked natural in a very small dose of carries at LSU. He could be part of the future backfield for this run-first team. Put Thomas on your training camp watchlist.
WR Lewis Bond, a 2026 sixth-round pick, practiced with the second-team offense and has made plays with the group.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's DJ Bien-Aime, Lewis has turned heads throughout the offseason to the point that he has an online team fanbase called the Lewis Bond Fan Club. It's early -- and the Texans have a talented group of wideouts in Nico Collins, Jayden Higgins, Tank Dell, Jaylin Noel, and Xavier Hutchinson, so we need to see if he can continue this performance into training camp. But Bien-Aime believes this is a great start for the former Boston College standout.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan will have an opening for a larger role after WR Mike Evans left in the offseason.
Footballguys view: McMillan suffered a serious neck injury last preseason that limited him to just four games during the 2025 season. McMillan returned to action in Week 14. Two games later, he recorded the first 100-yard game of his career. He finished the final two weeks of the season with 12 receptions for 178 yards. But the Buccaneers' confidence in McMillan is also based on what he accomplished before the injury. During his rookie season in 2024, he totaled 37 receptions for 461 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games. We'll be watching for more here.
Pittsburgh Steelers second-round pick WR Germie Bernard said QB Aaron Rodgers has been pouring into him and teaching him the game. 'Coming in as a rookie and him being an NFL vet, man, he's just teaching me the game,' Bernard said. 'He's helping me catch up because he thinks I have the potential to play. He's just pouring into me as much as he can. I just ask questions and I try to learn, be a sponge as much as I can. Receive what they're telling me because they know the best, they've been played the game for a long time.'
Footballguys view: Dynasty investors take note. As Footballguy Sigmund Bloom noted after the draft, Bernard landed on a team with an uncertain present and future at quarterback. Still, he could be the top target earner on the team in 2028 with Michael Pittman Jr. and DK Metcalf playing on big contracts during the back nine of their careers.
New York Jets QB Geno Smith is being investigated by Davie, FL police for assault allegations stemming from an incident that took place on Sunday, according to a source on Monday, June 22.
Footballguys view: TMZ says the situation is under review. Fox Sports South Florida reports that the case has already been closed. A spokesperson for the Davie, Florida, police department told the California Post that no one was taken into custody at the scene. The Jets declined comment to the Post. Smith has not yet addressed the matter. The Jets brought Smith, whom they drafted in the second round of the 2013 draft, back earlier this year in a trade with Las Vegas. Smith, who has 98 regular-season starts in 12 NFL seasons, is expected to be the team's starting quarterback in 2026.

Link to storyTampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (shoulder) should be fine for the regular season and would be available to play if the team had a game in a few weeks, according to general manager Jason Licht.
Footballguys view: Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles raised some concern about Irving's fitness when he said he thought the running back would be ready to return from a shoulder injury in the "summer or fall." Still, developments in June have painted a better picture. Irving practiced before the end of the offseason program, and Licht's comments add to the more positive outlook. Irving missed seven games in 2025. He'll likely share with free agent pickup Kenneth Gainwell, but a healthy Irving has been very effective for fantasy investors.
Las Vegas Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza said he has talked with minority owner Tom Brady since joining the Raiders and is learning from Brady how to be a team leader.
Footballguys view: According to PFT's Michael David Smith, Brady has talked to Mendoza and the Raiders' other quarterbacks about what a franchise quarterback needs to be, and Mendoza told the Raiders' YouTube channel that he's trying to lead by example. Brady became perhaps the greatest leader in NFL history, but he was drafted to be a backup and was thrust into a leadership role during his second season, when Drew Bledsoe got hurt. Mendoza, as the first overall pick in the draft, is in a very different situation. He'll immediately compete with Kirk Cousins for the starting job.
Dallas Cowboys WR Ryan Flournoy is 'one of those guys - because he does everything right' that Dak Prescott trusts implicitly, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Todd Archer noted, Flournoy is coming off a 40-catch, 475-yard, four-touchdown season a year ago, when he had two 100-yard games. If something happens to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, the Cowboys know what they have in Flournoy. He is strong at attacking the ball. This offseason, he has worked in the slot more. At the very least, he'll be in the mix as their WR3.
Las Vegas Raiders WR Malik Benson showed a strong connection with QB Fernando Mendoza during offseason workouts and has a chance to earn a role in the passing game if he performs well during training camp, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Ryan McFadden.
Footballguys view: According to McFadden, the Raiders drafted Benson in the sixth round with the belief that the former Oregon wideout could be a vertical threat who opens up the offense and makes explosive plays. He showcased that ability throughout OTAs and minicamp. Benson was Mendoza's go-to target during team drills, especially in the middle of the field. McFadden added that the competition at wide receiver is wide open, meaning Benson has a chance to create a role for himself in Year 1 if his production continues during training camp.
Baltimore Ravens WR Devontez Walker was a standout performer during offseason workouts and was able to stretch the field on a consistent basis, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.
Footballguys view: The pressure is on Walker, a fourth-round pick in 2024, after Baltimore drafted two wide receivers: Ja'Kobi Lane in the third round and Elijah Sarratt in the fourth round. Still, Walker is competing for the No. 3 spot behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Walker has made the most of his limited opportunities, scoring touchdowns on four of his seven career catches.
Miami Dolphins TE Greg Dulcich emerged 'as one of the primary targets' in the passing game this spring, according to ESPN.com's Marcel Louis-Jacques.
Footballguys view: During team drills, Willis demonstrated clear trust in Dulcich, who was one of the best tight ends in the league last season at making plays after the catch. He returned from injured reserve in Week 8 and finished the season averaging the second-most yards after catch per reception (7.6) in that span. While the former Bronco is best viewed as a late flier or potential waiver-wire add once the season opens, Miami's lack of high-end talent at wideout could lead to better-than-expected production from Dulcich.
Denver Broncos second-round draft choice DT Tyler Onyedim signed a four-year contract with the Broncos Monday, June 22. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyJacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. and Trevor Lawrence have 'taken a huge step' in building their rapport this offseason, according to John Oehser of the team's website.
Footballguys view: After recording nearly 1,300 yards and finishing the season as fantasy's WR2 in 2024 as a rookie, Thomas Jr. totaled only 707 yards this past season. This included dealing with dropped passes and catching just 49 percent of the passes thrown his way. So one of the points of emphasis this offseason has been Thomas Jr. and Lawrence continuing to build their chemistry within Liam Coen's offense. While it's still early, the reporting from OTAs and minicamp has been positive. That's good news because Thomas Jr. is the first Jaguar WR off the board as WR33.
Cleveland Browns WR Isaiah Bond was the receiver targeted the most this spring.
Footballguys view: Being the most targeted receiver is no mean feat, considering the team drafted KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the first two rounds of April's Draft. According to ESPN.com's Daniel Oyefusi, Bond continued to display his speed and showed off the 15 pounds of muscle he added this offseason with a bunch of contested catches. Worth noting, only three Cleveland receivers -- Concepcion, Boston, and Jerry Jeudy -- currently show up in our ADP rankings. Bond might be the ultimate free square play in best ball drafts. He's also a player to watch during training camp.
New York Jets WR Adonai Mitchell showed a rapport with QB Geno Smith, and his grasp of the system allowed him to exhibit vertical speed.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Rich Cimini, the Jets figured Mitchell would take a leap this offseason -- his first with the team -- but he has exceeded their expectations. Mitchell, acquired from the Colts last November in the Sauce Gardner trade, solidified himself as the No. 2 receiver. Cimini believes Mitchell, who is currently being drafted as WR76, should be a nice complement to Garrett Wilson.
Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs lined up in the slot and out wide during minicamp.
Footballguys view: The departure of Michael Pittman opens up the opportunity for Downs to hold a much larger role in the Colts' offense. As SI.com's Andrew Moore reminded readers, Downs never saw the field as much as Pittman and Pierce over the last three years, as the bigger wide receivers stayed on the field in 12 personnel. While 2025 was a down year to his standards, Downs could be poised for a career year, just in time for him to cash in as a free agent next offseason. For our purposes, Downs' RB48 ADP and 9th-round price make him a great value.
Josh Downs player page
Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce is expected to receive 'close to double the number of targets' than he did last season, according to Andrew Moore of SI.com.
Footballguys view: Pierce did not participate in Indy's offseason program after undergoing a procedure on his ankle, and it's possible he could miss some time in training camp as well. However, the Colts have no concerns about Pierce and believe he will hit the ground running when he is healthy. And the team didn't pay sign him to a four-year, $114 million extension in March and part with Michael Pittman Jr. in the process, for Pierce to be anything but their top downfield weapon. The question is, will he deliver? As WR32, it's not cost-prohibitive to find out.
Tennessee Titans RB Tony Pollard could be part of 'a more balanced committee' this season, according to Nick Arvin of SI.com.
Footballguys view: Pollard led Tennessee in scrimmage yards last season with 1,288 total yards, including 1,082 rushing and 206 receiving. While Pollard is expected to remain the lead back, Arvin anticipates a more balanced committee approach with the additions of fifth-round pick Nicholas Singleton and the continued presence of Tyjae Spears. That explains Pollard's RB30 ADP and sixth-round price tag. But it's worth noting here that Daboll's Giants offense ranked second in the NFL in rushing attempts last season. They ranked fifth in the league in rushing yards per game (129.1). There could be enough to go around.
Tony Pollard player page
Tennessee Titans WR Wan'Dale Robinson has the best chance to lead the team in scrimmage yards in 2026, according to Nick Arvin of SI.com.
Footballguys view: While rookie Carnell Tate will still be a major factor as a rookie, his presence could actually help Robinson reach another level. With defenses focused on Tate and Elic Ayomanor on the outside, Robinson should find favorable matchups working from the slot, exactly where he thrives. But a bigger reason why Robinson could lead the Titans in scrimmage yards is his familiarity with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Robinson played under Daboll in New York and enjoyed some of the most productive seasons of his career in that system. Robinson is being drafted as WR46 in Round 8.
Washington Commanders RBs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols are the top two returning backs for the team. They added RBs Jerome Ford and Rachaad White in offseason transactions, while also adding RB Kaytron Allen in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The team is also intrigued by undrafted rookie RB Robert Henry Jr. The team hasn't had a No. 1 running back in a while, and it appears the team will enter the season with a running back by committee situation.
Footballguys view: While Washington's backfield is likely to be split between Croskey-Merritt and White, that's not chiseled in stone. Somebody could earn a more prominent role. If White is that player, it wouldn't be the first time. He operated as a feature for the Buccaneers in 2023 and delivered his best season as a pro, rushing for 990 yards and six touchdowns on 272 carries, with 64 catches for 549 receiving yards and three more scores en route to an RB4 finish. Still, current ADP has Croskey-Merritt (RB40) and White (RB39) priced as if it will be an even split.

Free-agent DT Byron Cowart (Bears) was among six players who had tryouts for the Atlanta Falcons last week at the team's minicamp.

Las Vegas Raiders DE Keyron Crawford signed his contract, the team announced Sunday, June 21. Terms of the deal for the third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft were undisclosed.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens OG Vega Ioane appears poised to become a long-term fixture on the team's offensive line. He brings intriguing traits to Baltimore, and he possesses the build teams seek from interior linemen. He is a reliable pass protector, and combined with size, impressive power, balance and movement skills, he has Ravens observers very optimistic.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys CB Shavon Revel Jr. (knee) is healthy heading into the offseason and training camp after entering his rookie season in 2025 rehabbing a torn anterior cruciate ligament at East Carolina in his senior season. He heads into the 2026 campaign looking to work hard, and he wants to be among the best in the NFL. 'I am going to be, someday, the best cornerback in the league,' Revel said. 'That's just how I look at it, and I have the confidence to say it. At the end of the day, I got to work.'
Link to storyAtlanta Falcons S Billy Bowman Jr. (Achilles) is attempting to win his starting spot back in the nickel defense after suffering a torn Achilles tendon. He was unable to take part in organized team activities (OTAs), but he is expected to be back for training camp. Whether he returns to starter status remains to be seen, however. S Darnay Holmes, a free-agent addition, was on the field a lot during OTAs with Bowman missing, and second-round draft pick Avieon Terrell could have a spot open up as a result of Bowman's slow recovery.
Link to storyDarnay Holmes player page
Atlanta Falcons LB Christian Harris is likely to start next to LB Divine Deablo, as LBs Troy Andersen, JD Bertrand and Kendal Daniels were each sidelined by injuries during organized team activities (OTAs). As such, Harris has a leg up in the competition to start.
Link to storyDivine Deablo player page
Atlanta Falcons RB Brian Robinson Jr. appears to be the heir apparent to serve as the primary backup to starter RB Bijan Robinson. He was a started in Washington for three seasons, but limited to just 92 carries with the San Francisco 49ers in 2025, so he is fresh. He is expected to vie for the job to replace RB Tyler Allgeier (Cardinals). 'Brian is a really, really talented football player who matches exceptionally with what we want to do,' head coach Kevin Stefanski said. 'We want to have an attack that is not just a one-person attack. I think Brian gives us that.'
Footballguys view: Bijan Robinson is the lead back, and he's one of the best in the league. Fantasy GMs are taking Bijan Robinson with one of the first two or three picks in every draft. Brian Robinson is a valued backup, but he's seen more as an RB5 or handcuff for the Bijan Robinson Fantasy GM. If Bijan Robinson needs to miss time, Brian Robinson has RB1 upside.
Atlanta Falcons LB Bralen Trice (knee) was cleared for all organized team activities, and he 'looked excellent', according to defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Trice is making his way back from torn anterior cruciate ligaments in the preseason in both 2024 and 2025.
Link to storyNew York Giants CB Colton Hood is in the mix to be a starter, according to head coach John Harbaugh. While he played just 1,150 total snaps for three different programs at the cornerback position, he has experience in different systems and a wealth of positive traits to build on. In addition, beat writer Patricia Traina says he has also been good against the run, playing physical, while showing an ability to shed blocks.
Link to storyDenver Broncos RB Jonah Coleman has shown consistency in the passing game and pass protection, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, and Legwold believes Coleman 'belongs in the rotation' of running backs.
Footballguys view: Coleman is the no.3 back on the Broncos depth chart for now. JK Dobbins is the starter, but Denver is ready this year if/when he gets hurt. If Dobbins misses time due to injury again, the Broncos can turn to Coleman as a co-starter in the backfield with RJ Harvey. While Harvey can improve from his rookie season as a runner, he's mainly a receiving weapon with a nose for the end zone. This makes Coleman a must-stash in deep-bench leagues, or Fantasy GMs should at least keep him on the waiver wire speed dial.
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Tanner Koziol has performed well in both the passing game and as a blocker, according to tight ends coach Richard Angulo. 'And honestly, he's been really good in the run game too, you know,' Angulo said. 'So just understanding, you know, his strengths, his length, he's got strong hands, so just really excited to see what he can do, honestly, in both phases.'
Footballguys view: Koziol is a huge target (6-feet, 7-inches) and can play 'above the rim' near pay dirt. While not known as a devastating blocker, it's good to hear that he's impressing his pro coaches in that department. The fifth-round pick gets to learn behind Brenton Strange and fellow rookie Nate Boerkircher (Jaguars second-round pick) in 2026.
Cleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins appears to have regained his confidence and explosiveness on the field after suffering his serious injury during the 2025 season, according to head coach Todd Monken.
Footballguys view: Judkins is a strong runner, and he does not shy away from contact. He was injured in Week 16 and has been recovering from a fractured fibula and a broken ankle. Fantasy GMs need to monitor his health in training camp, but we like him as a volume-based RB2 in 2026.
