NFL chief football administrative officer Dawn Aponte was hired in a vice-president role with the New York Giants Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Link to storyFormer Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich was hired by the New York Jets as offensive coordinator Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Footballguys view: Reich has his work cut out for him with the Jets. The quarterback situation is a mess, and a centerpiece of their offense (Breece Hall) is a free agent. Reich will see what he can do with an underwhelming roster on offense and a head coach in Aaron Glenn who begins 2026 firmly on the hot seat. We'll be curious to see if Reich can be part of the staff that changes the culture with this losing team.
Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones (Achilles) might be ready for the season, and the team is confident it will be able to retain him for 2026.
Footballguys view: Jones suffered a torn Achilles in Week 14's loss to the Jaguars, so his availability for Week 1 is in question. Signing an effective veteran quarterback coming off this major injury is something the Colts should do. Jones had the Colts looking like one of the best teams in the league early in the 2025 season.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir led the team with 719 receiving yards, with the next-closest receiving being WR Keon Coleman with 404 yards. The team is likely to address the receiver position in either the draft, free agency, or both.
Footballguys view: The Bills thought Coleman could be a no.1 receiver, but his second pro season totals (404 yards) fell short of his rookie year (556 yards). In order to be active in free agency, the Bills must first get under the salary cap. OverTheCap.com currently has them $7.4 MM over the cap.
Jacksonville Jaguars LB Travon Walker appears to be in line for an extension this offseason. He finished with 37 total stops, 18 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks and two passes defensed in 2025, his fourth season in Jacksonville.
Link to storyJacksonville Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd, an impending free agent, might be too expensive on the free-agent market, and the team is unlikely to use the franchise tag at a projected $28.2 million.
Link to storyIndianapolis Colts DLs Samson Ebukam, Tyquan Lewis and Kwity Paye are each slated to be free agents. The pass rush struggled in 2025, especially down the stretch, and it is believed that general manager Chris Ballard would like to add speed on the edge this offseason.

Houston Texans OT Aireontae Ersery had what is viewed as a rocky rookie campaign, and the team is hopeful he'll be able to step up. The offensive line struggled in 2025, and the team must bulk up their interior offensive line to help open holes in the ground game, particularly in short-yardage situations, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
Link to storyHouston Texans OG Ed Ingram is set to be a free agent, and he was arguably the best starter on what was a horrendous offensive line, so the team could make an effort to re-sign him.
Link to storyDenver Broncos LB Alex Singleton is an impending free agent, and it remains to be seen if the team will be able to re-sign him. Fellow LB Justin Strnad is also an impending free agent.

Denver Broncos LB Justin Strnad is an impending free agent, and he is on record saying he wants to be a full-time starter. It remains to be seen if he'll get that chance in Denver, or with a new organization.

Cleveland Browns OLs Joel Bitonio, Jack Conklin, Teven Jenkins, Ethan Pocic, Cam Robinson and Wyatt Teller are each set to be free agents, leaving general manager Andrew Berry scrambling to fill those holes via free agency and/or the draft.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens DT Travis Jones led the team with five sacks. However, head coach Jesse Minter is expected to address the pass-rush situation in the offseason, adding more pressure with perhaps multiple extra rushers. Minter didn't bring extra rushers often, as Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator, blitzing at just a 20.4% rate last season, third-lowest in the NFL.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins quarterbacks coach Nathaniel Hackett, recently hired after serving as offensive coordinator of the New York Jets, is still considered a possibility for the open offensive coordinator position with the Arizona Cardinals, according to sources.
Link to storyNew England Patriots DT Milton Williams is the only player in Super Bowl LX who is making his third-career Super Bowl appearance. He won last season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. 'It's great, man. I just say I'm blessed to be in this situation,' Williams said. 'This is my third Super Bowl in five years. It's crazy.' He had two sacks and four quarterback hits in last season's postseason run in Philadelphia, including two sacks and a forced fumble in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Link to storyArizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur will call plays for the team in 2026.
Footballguys view: Though Sean McVay has been the Rams' playcaller, LaFleur played a vital role in the team's success. In his three years in Los Angeles, the offense was fifth in passing yards, first downs, and touchdowns, sixth in yards and points per game, and eighth in red-zone efficiency. In 2025, McVay, LaFleur, and quarterback Matthew Stafford were at the forefront of an offense that was first in the NFL in points and yards ahead of a run to the NFC title game. LaFleur, who handled playcalling for two seasons as Jets offensive coordinator, told reporters on Tuesday that "he missed it."
Minnesota Vikings TE coach Brian Angelichio is interviewing with the Pittsburgh Steelers for their offensive coordinator vacancy on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Footballguys view: With Saints assistant Scott Tolzien, who interviewed for the Steelers OC spot on Monday, deciding to stay in New Orleans, it appears that Angelichio is the only name left in the race in Pittsburgh. As SI.com notes, during his time in Minnesota, Angelichio has been a key part of Kevin O'Connell's staff and offensive game planning. Angelichio doesn't have experience calling plays at the NFL level, but that won't matter in Pittsburgh as head coach Mike McCarthy will handle that role. It would allow Angelichio to learn the role slowly while helping to form and execute McCarthy's game plan.
Cleveland Browns head coach was asked if QB Shedeur Sanders would be QB1 for the team in 2026, and he said that it is to be determined. He added he 'absolutely' can earn the job, though.
Footballguys view: "I think like any position on the team, that's still to be determined," Monken said of Cleveland's QB situation. "Am I excited about Shedeur? Am I excited about all the quarterbacks in the room? Am I excited to coach this football team? Absolutely." Monken talked about what he likes in a quarterback, focusing heavily on intangibles and personality. Meanwhile, the Browns have been in search of consistent, steady, productive quarterback play effectively since the team re-entered the league in 1999. It remains to be seen if Monken can develop Sanders or any other quarterback into that kind of player.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers coach Troy Walters declined to interview for the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator opening.
Footballguys view: According to CBSSports.com's Jonathan Jones, Walters, who's had multiple offensive coordinator looks the last few years, will stay in Cincy with hopes to win with one of the best units in football.

New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien will remain with the team after interviewing for offensive coordinator positions.
Footballguys view: The 38-year-old Tolzien interviewed with Pittsburgh on Monday. In 2025, Tolzien worked with rookie Tyler Shough, helping him finish the season having completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 2,384 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions in 11 games with nine starts. Now Tolzien will continue to work with Shough to further his development.

Arizona Cardinals pass game specialist Connor Senger has been requested for an interview for the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator post.
Footballguys view: Senger joined the Cardinals as a coaching fellow in 2022 and took on his current role after working as a quality control coach and assistant quarterbacks coach. According to Profootballtalk.com, Senger has drawn interest as a quarterbacks coach in recent days as teams put together their coaching staffs ahead of the 2026 season, and he also served as the offensive coordinator for the East team in this year's East-West Shrine Bowl. Senger called plays in that role, but Bears head coach Ben Johnson handles those duties in Chicago.
Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy was hired by the New York Giants for their offensive coordinator post.
Footballguys view: Nagy, who was the Chiefs' offensive coordinator for the past three seasons, will be tasked with leading the development of second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart and an offense that has other young players such as Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo. Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that Dart was involved in the hiring process. The Chiefs' offenses under Nagy finished ninth, 16th, and 20th over the past three years in total yards. They failed to crack the top 10 in scoring in any of those three seasons, although Andy Reid has been the Chiefs' primary playcaller.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was not voted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 2026.
Footballguys view: Kraft joins his former head coach, Bill Belichick, in being passed over on the first ballot. The Class of 2026 will be revealed on Thursday at NFL Honors in San Francisco, minus Kraft and Belichick.
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson recorded 809 of his 1,006 receiving yards during the second half of the 2025 regular season. He also caught six of his seven touchdowns during that span.
Footballguys view: Wilson joined tight end Trey McBride in the Cardinals' 1,000-yard receiving club. Given how he started the season, with just eight catches for 52 yards and a touchdown over the first five games, Wilson's finish was remarkable. With Jacoby Brissett taking over for Kyler Murray, plus Wilson getting WR1 opportunities with Marvin Harrison Jr. injured, the third-year pro was able to take off behind 65 catches for 855 yards (and the six scores) over the next 11 games. Offseason developments in Arizona will determine our view of Wilson in 2026, but a new, offensive-minded head coach in Mike LaFleur is a great start.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught four of his five touchdowns in December and finished the month with 26 receptions and 329 yards.
Footballguys view: Even though much of his success came after Kirk Cousins took over as the starting quarterback, Pitts' fifth season was his best as a pro, with 88 catches for 928 yards and the five touchdowns. His TE2 finish overall was the kind of outcome fantasy investors have been hoping for since his 1,000-yard rookie season. While the team's QB situation is still to be determined, new head coach Kevin Stefanski leaned heavily on the tight end position. We'll all be interested to see how Pitts might fit into that scheme -- assuming the unrestricted free agent remains a Falcon.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR George Pickens said he would like to return to the Cowboys next season but believes his value has gone up after his 2025 season.
Footballguys view: The Cowboys want to keep Pickens, and the team has the franchise tag available to use on the pending free agent, but the question is whether the sides can negotiate a long-term deal. The Cowboys traded with the Steelers for Pickens in the 2025 offseason. Dak Prescott is the best quarterback Pickens has played with, and it showed. His previous best season was 63 receptions for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. We'll be following this situation closely as free agency draws nearer.
Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff said he is excited to work with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing and that other quarterbacks that have worked with Petzing have given him great reviews.
Footballguys view: Petzing will be Detroit's third offensive coordinator in the last three years. John Morton replaced Ben Johnson after Johnson became the head coach of the Bears in January 2025, but Morton's run calling plays ended when head coach Dan Campbell took over those responsibilities during the season. The Lions still finished fourth in the league in points scored, but it wasn't enough for the Lions to return to the postseason. Goff said he hopes the change leads to a return to the consistency of previous seasons. "I think he was a home run hire," Goff said.

Concerns about Drake Maye's shoulder have diminished after the New England Patriots quarterback and coaching staff all downplayed the injury. During Super Bowl XL Opening Night, Maye said he felt good after Monday's throwing session. "I feel good. I'll be just fine," Maye said. "I threw a good bit. I threw as much as I would at a normal practice. I felt great and looking forward to getting back out there Wednesday and Thursday for practice and Friday to get ready for a normal week of prep."
Footballguys view: Maye was listed as questionable on the Patriots' Super Bowl Bye Week Injury report after limited participation with the shoulder injury and missing Friday due to an illness. The message on Monday was that Maye was fine physically ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks' No. 1 defense. The two weeks between games helped things settle for the MVP candidate. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel reiterated that Maye looked good on Monday. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was asked if he expected any limitations with Maye's shoulder entering Sunday's contest. "Nope," McDaniels confidently stated. Nonetheless, we'll be watching for more.

San Francisco 49ers assistant head coach of defensive Gus Bradley is being hired by the Tennessee Titans as their new defensive coordinator, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Bradley was the presumptive choice to replace new Titans head coach Robert Saleh as coordinator in San Francisco, where he was assistant head coach in 2025, but as the 49ers moved in a different direction with Raheem Morris. As Saleh's coordinator, Bradley will not call defensive plays. Saleh will do that, as he's said he felt less connected to the Jets when he was their head coach and didn't call the defense. Bradley also interviewed with the Cardinals.
Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb was officially named the team's new offensive coordinator Monday, Feb. 2.
Footballguys view: Still only 31 years old, Webb had multiple head coaching interviews in recent weeks. The former NFL QB will stay in Denver for another season, and figures to be a hot head coaching candidate again next year. Until then, having his former position coach move up the ladder while remaining in Denver is good news for Bo Nix and his fantasy investors. For what it's worth, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos are promoting Logan Kilgore to QB coach.

Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride caught nine of his 11 touchdowns during the second half of games this season. He did record 658 receiving yards in the first half of games and 563 receiving yards in the second half.
Footballguys view: In other words, McBride was excellent. He finished 2025 with 126 receptions, 1,239 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 18.6 PPR points per game. The next closest tight end was Kyle Pitts at 12.4. McBride, who finished as TE1 overall, scored 315.9 points. That's 105.1 points more than Pitts. Per Next Gen Stats, McBride's 169 targets ranked third in the NFL behind only Ja'Marr Chase and Amon-Ra St. Brown. It was three more than Puka Nacua's 166. Expect to pay up to land McBride in drafts this summer.
Denver Broncos offensive quality control coach Logan Kilgore will take over as the team's quarterbacks coach next season.
Footballguys view: Kilgore spent the past three seasons in that offensive quality control coach role in Denver. He also has three additional years of coaching experience, including stints at Bakersfield College (Quarterbacks/Pass Game Coordinator), Arkansas State (Offensive Analyst) and Isidore Newman (La.) High School (Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks). In Denver, Kilgore has spent time working closely with the Broncos' tight end room and with the team's returners.
The Broncos are promoting Davis Webb to offensive coordinator, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to hire Anthony Weaver as their defensive coordinator, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.
Footballguys view: Weaver, 45, returns to Baltimore after being the Dolphins' defensive coordinator for the past two seasons. This marks the third stint in Baltimore for Weaver, who was a DE for the Ravens from 2002 to 2005 and was Baltimore's defensive line coach from 2021 to 2023. Although Weaver will hold the title of defensive coordinator, new Ravens head coach Jesse Minter will call the defensive plays for Baltimore. Last season, Baltimore's defense ranked 24th in the NFL, which was only the third time in the past 25 years that the Ravens defense finished in the bottom half of the league.
San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings caught five of his nine touchdowns on third down during the 2025 regular season.
Footballguys view: Jennings is a free-agent-to-be, and his future with the Niners is unclear. Still, with 1,618 yards and 15 touchdowns on 122 receptions over the last two years, Jennings has been an essential piece of the team's offense. Will that translate into a big payday in San Francisco? A move to another team? We'll be watching that closely as the free-agent signing period draws near.

Los Angeles Rams WR Davante Adams is expected to return to the team next season, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: Adams, 33, was a key contributor for the Rams in 2025, catching 60 passes for 789 yards with a league-leading 14 touchdowns. He missed some time with a hamstring injury, but caught 11 passes for 185 yards with a touchdown in three postseason games. Adams was also a boon for fantasy investors. Despite being limited to 14 regular-season games, the veteran finished as WR9 in total points. He was also WR9 on a points-per-game basis. Assuming all the pieces remain in place, fantasy managers find the Rams' offense a target-rich environment this summer.

Free-agent QB Jake Haener (Saints) agreed to terms on a Reserve/Future contract with the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Feb. 2, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Haener was involved in a competition for the starting job in New Orleans with Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough last season, but wound up in third position. The 2023 fourth-round pick spent most of the season on the practice squad and did not appear in any games. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes coming off a torn ACL, so their other quarterbacks should get plenty of work in the offseason. Gardner Minshew and Chris Oladokun filled in after Mahomes' injury, but Minshew is not under contract for 2026.

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee will receive time to decide if he wants to continue his playing career next season, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: The Rams are well-equipped to handle a departure if Higbee chooses to call it a career. Colby Parkinson emerged as a solid starter while Higbee spent time on injured reserve this past season. In addition, rookie Terrance Ferguson also emerged as a viable option at tight end. We'll follow up on this situation as developments warrant.
