Chiefs | Mansoor Delane missed minicamp Mon Jun 29, 01:05 PM
Kansas City Chiefs CB Mansoor Delane (shoulder) did not participate in the mandatory minicamp because of his shoulder injury, according to ESPN.com's Nate Taylor.
Link to storyNew York Jets first-round pick TE Kenyon Sadiq (abdomen) will be ready for training camp.
Footballguys view: Sadiq missed OTAs and minicamp after hernia surgery, stemming from a college injury. The Jets said they were aware of it during the predraft process. While he's expected to be ready for training camp, Sadiq will be behind. According to ESPN.com's Rich Cimin, OC Frank Reich has a plan for Sadiq, whom he envisions as a mismatch because of his speed and explosiveness. He's a high-end dynasty prospect, but Sadiq's ADP in redraft -- TE17 -- reflects his immediate value.
New York Giants first-round pick OG Francis Mauigoa was inserted at starting right guard in spring workouts. Mauigoa's desire to learn and impressive physical talent stood out to OT Jermaine Eluemunor.
Link to storyWashington Commanders first-round pick LB Sonny Styles' closing speed and football acumen impressed coaches and teammates. They loved his preparation and knowledge and how he handled wearing the green dot on his helmet.
Link to storyNew York Giants first-round pick LB Arvell Reese impressed DE Brian Burns with his ability to run with and cover running backs. The Giants were also happy with how Reese handled the mental aspect of the spring.
Link to storyTennessee Titans first-round pick WR Carnell Tate has impressed teammates with his polish as a rookie. 'For a rookie to come in, doing some of the things that he's doing is really, really exciting,' CB Alontae Taylor said. 'Come Sundays, he's going to be very exciting to watch.'
Link to storyNew York Jets first-round pick EDGE David Bailey needs to work on his run defense and learn how to win with power in his pass rush, but his first-step quickness has stood out.
Link to storyLas Vegas Raiders first overall pick QB Fernando Mendoza has experienced growing pains in OTAs, particularly when playing under center.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens third-round pick WR Ja'Kobi Lane's size, catch radius and wingspan could make him a weapon in the red zone.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold is comfortable with the use of shifts and motion in offensive coordinator Brian Fleury's system, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Darnold will be playing for his seventh offensive coordinator in six seasons. But Fleury, a former 49ers assistant, isn't installing an entirely new playbook, and Darnold won't have to start from scratch. The Seahawks will continue to run an offense similar to what they ran last year under Klint Kubiak, another Kyle Shanahan disciple. Darnold completed a career-best 67.7 percent of his passes and threw for over 4,000 yards last season, but turnovers were an issue, and his QB22 ADP suggests fantasy investors are skeptical.

Dallas Cowboys CB C.J. Goodwin announced his retirement from the NFL Sunday, June 28.

Dallas Cowboys WR Ryan Flournoy has worked from the slot more this offseason.
Footballguys view: Flournoy has been one of the most buzzed about players in the offseason with George Pickens barely participating in practices. Flournoy probably won't arrive as a weekly start if Pickens stays healthy. What we have learned this offseason is that if Pickens isn't signed to a long term deal, the Cowboys have a player they believe can be a starter to replace him. Flournoy's development will also help Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense.
Denver Broncos WR Troy Franklin said he hopes to be more consistent with his play this upcoming season and hopes to take his play to the next level.
Footballguys view: Franklin and 2023 second round pick Marvin Mims haven't had the desired impact since the Broncos drafted them, so they felt compelled to trade this year's first and additional draft capital to get Jaylen Waddle. Now Franklin and Mims (who has indicated he thinks this could be his last year in Denver) will be fighting promising 2025 third round pick Pat Bryant for snaps when the team puts three or more wideouts on the field.
Tennessee Titans WR Carnell Tate said he will be working on better understanding the offensive system leading up to the start of training camp.
Footballguys view: Tate grabbed headlines early in the offseason with some dominant practices, but free agent pickup Wan'Dale Robinson followed offensive coordinator Brian Daboll from the Giants, and there has also been talk about expanding his role from previous levels. There's also the issue of whether Cam Ward will take a step forward in his second year. We'll be monitoring Titans camp report to see if Tate or Robinson, or both should be on your draft target list.
San Francisco 49ers TE Jake Tonges will likely see an increased role in the offense if TE George Kittle (Achilles) is not ready to play at the start of the regular season, in the opinion of NinersWire's Kyle Madson.
Footballguys view: Tonges is a waiver wire watch list player for now, but if Kittle is on PUP to begin camp, he'll move up in the rankings. He was a productive option when Kittle missed time last year, with five strong performances in seven games as the starter.
Free-agent TE Josiah Deguara (Cardinals) could be a possible target for the Carolina Panthers leading up to training camp, in the opinion of The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye.

Minnesota Vikings QB Carson Wentz (shoulder) was a full participant during offseason workouts.

Minnesota Vikings DT Caleb Banks (foot) did not participate in drills during offseason workouts because he is recovering from foot surgery, but head coach Kevin O'Connell said he received positive reports from the training staff during the offseason, according to Vikings.com's Lindsey Young.
Link to storyWahington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt said he hopes to show the team that he can be a three-down back in the NFL. He understands that he will have to earn the starting running back job during training camp.
Footballguys view: Croskey-Merritt needs to prove that he can be an asset on passing downs, and a good one, to take snaps away from accomplished third down back Rachaad White. He'll also need to show a rugged edge to get short yardage work over sixth round pick Kaytron Allen after the coaching staff preferred Chris Rodriguez to Croskey-Merritt by the end of the season. He's still one of the cheapest backs projected to lead his backfield in touches, and many of the best picks at running back come from the group that matches that description.
Dallas Cowboys RBs Jaydon Blue, Phil Mafah and Malik Davis will all likely be candidates for the No. 2 running back job during training camp and the preseason, in the opinion of DallasCowboys.com's Kurt Daniels.
Footballguys view: This looks like a messy committee if Javonte Williams goes down. Blue's speed give him the best chance to get manufactured touches even when Williams is healthy, but Davis or Mafah would be a more consistent between the tackles early down runner, and Mafah is the easy choice as the short yardage back if Williams goes down. There's also a question of whether the Cowboys will carry all four backs. If not, someone will likely snap up whoever they try to stash on the practice squad.
Free-agent DE Jadeveon Clowney (Cowboys) is being monitored by several teams, according to league sources. The Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers could be interested in him, with one anonymous NFL executive believing that he will sign with the Packers, given that DE Micah Parsons (knee) will be sidelined for several months.

Buffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer (ankle) said that he is close to being fully recovered from the ankle injury which caused him to miss five games last season, which ended up with a stint on the Reserve/Injured list.

Houston Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley said that he wants to give the team's tight ends an increased role in the offense in 2026, after they fought through various injuries last season. TE Dalton Schultz missed Houston's playoff game due to a strained calf, TE Cade Stover was sidelined for an extended period after breaking his foot in the season opener and TE Brevin Jordan sustained a torn patellar tendon in training camp, leading to the Texans deploying OT/TE Blake Fisher as their main blocking tight end.
Footballguys view: There's nothing actionable here for fantasy with Schultz on the fringe of fantasy relevance, but it would complicated a second year breakout for Jayden Higgins or comeback story for Tank Dell if the tight end group took targets away from a wide receiver group that only has one full-time player (Nico Collins). It would help CJ Stroud if the pass offense was more diverse and effective in personnel sets, and more tight end targets would do that.

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson said that his individual goals are to have at least 10 touchdowns and 1,100 receiving yards during the 2026 regular season, which would both be career highs.
Footballguys view: Watson is currently going off of the board as a WR3, but these numbers would make him a WR2 and hit at ADP. He has put his injury issues behind him and should get a big bump in snaps and targets this year after Romeo Doubs left for New England in free agency.
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Quintin Morris' roster spot could be in trouble due to the early success of TE Tanner Koziol, according to Eric Edholm of NFL.com.
Link to storyHouston Texans LB E.J. Speed (quadriceps) and CB M.J. Stewart (quadriceps) are candidates for to start the 2026 season on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, in the opinion of The Houston Chronicle's Jonathan M. Alexander.

Indianapolis Colts RB DJ Giddens has a better understanding of the offensive system and showed growth during offseason workouts, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Giddens can currently be seen as the no.2 RB for the Colts behind Jonathan Taylor. With Taylor being incredibly durable, Giddens was only able to get 26 carries last year as a rookie. Giddens has the physical skill to compete at the pro level, and he'll have to beat out Seth McGowan in training camp for the backup job.
New England Patriots WR Kyle Williams may not be a consistent weekly part of the passing game this upcoming season unless there is an injury at receiver, in the opinion of NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry.
Footballguys view: Adding AJ Brown to the mix will move guys down the pecking order, and Williams is one of those guys. Williams has been working on his game this offseason, hoping to improve his game in the middle of the field. He's got speed and skill, but the second-year pro is competing for a spot at the end of the bench. Williams is likely their no.5 or no.6 receiver on the depth chart.
Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett continues to seek a reworked contract, according to head coach Mike LaFleur, who noted that both sides will engage in negotiations before training camp opens July 22.
Footballguys view: We'll see if the two sides can get something done before the start of training camp. Brissett's dissatisfaction reportedly stems from his current deal only containing $1.5 million of guaranteed money for the 2026 season. Deals get done at deadlines, and after an offseason where the reports about movement were virtually non-existent, it's good to get a bit of news.

Buffalo Bills S Cole Bishop (knee) has been rehabbing at the team's facility after undergoing a knee procedure earlier in the offseason and is expected to be ready for training camp. Bishop said that he had been 'in and out' of participation in offseason practices, although he had been visible at team workouts and weight lifting sessions.
Link to storyNew York Jets WR Adonai Mitchell has 'solidified himself as the No. 2 receiver' with his performance this spring, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Earlier reports indicate that Mitchell has "budding chemistry" with QB Geno Smith from offseason work. Jets OC Frank Reich believes Mitchell can be a perfect complement for the team opposite of Garrett Wilson. From a fantasy perspective, there's more value here with Mitchell than some would think. Consider him as a WR7/deep flex play, and get the TUMS ready in what should be a tumultuous passing game.
Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins said he doesn't need to 'force' himself into a big role to be effective for a team. 'I know in my position, I'm a utility guy,' Hopkins said. 'I'm a special situation kind of guy. I can go out there and beat anybody one on one at any time, but as of lately, I've been a third-down guy.'
Footballguys view: Hopkins is in that part of his career where he's just going to bring what he can. No longer the dominant receiver of the past, Hopkins played 17 games last year for the Ravens but only grabbed 22 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns. If/when injuries strike in training camp, Hopkins should get some attention on the free agent market.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase leads the NFL with 352 receptions and 4,335 receiving yards since the start of the 2023 season.
Footballguys view: Chase is arguably the best receiver in the league, and others may not have much of an argument. Through a 2025 season that saw him play with multiple quarterbacks, Chase still posted over 1,400 receiving yards. With a healthy Joe Burrow (hopefully) for the full season, Chase's numbers could get back near his 2024 totals (1,708 yards, 17 touchdowns). He's likely everyone's no.1 wide receiver in fantasy football.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson said extension talks are 'going great' and that he is hopeful to remain with the Cardinals moving forward. 'That being said, I also do love the Cardinals organization and I truly do want to be one of those guys that plays for one organization their whole career,' Wilson said. 'That is a goal of mine, and how cool would it be?'
Footballguys view: Earlier this offseason, Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort said Wilson "is about everything we want in our program to be about, and hopefully he is here for a long time." This year, Wilson is likely to play the "Z" receiver for HC Mike LaFleur. Giving Wilson clean releases makes him even more dangerous, and we like considering him as a flex play with plenty of upside.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. was the 'most impressive offensive player' during spring activities, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: The arrow is pointing way up for Thomas, and all reports indicate his offseason is going great. In fact, some of the best news we've seen reported is that Thomas and QB Trevor Lawrence have worked on their chemistry. Thomas had a down season in 2025, but he could be in for a big year as the team enters year 2 of the Liam Coen era (and offense). He's a WR3 with upside to easily work his way into WR2 territory.
Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Texans) is not ruling out the possibility of signing with the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: Chubb played last year with the Texans, and he turned in a decent season with 122 carries, 506 yards rushing, and three rushing touchdowns in 15 games. He's no longer the stud runner he used to be, but a team looking for veteran depth should be considering Chubb. The Browns have Quinshon Judkins as their starter, but perhaps reuniting with Chubb would be something they consider.

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby is being blocked by the CFL from signing with any of its teams in 2026.
Footballguys view: The NFL did not move forward with a supplemental draft for Sorsby, so he's running out of options. If he wants to play football this season with the hopes of being selected in the 2027 NFL Draft, Sorsby may have to do it at an even lower level of competition. He may just choose to sit out for a year and train while his agents work on his PR and NFL interest.
Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor is hoping for a contract extension, but the Colts have shown 'little initiative' when it comes to contract discussions, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Taylor has expressed his interest in being a "Colt for life" but so far there seems to be no signs of an extension. Reporters around the team suggest there is real debate as to whether or not Taylor will be with the team past the 2026 season.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud has shown a different comfort level with the offense throughout the spring, according to offensive coordinator Nick Caley.
Footballguys view: There have been plenty of positive reports about Stroud this offseason. Are these reports fluff, or is this a drumbeat Fantasy GMs should pay attention to? We feel it's the latter, and Stroud could provide value as a QB2 or superflex option.
C.J. Stroud player page
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence had the best spring of his career, according to head coach Liam Coen. 'He's got such a grasp for it that you're hopeful that it allows him to just go be him and go be the best version of himself as we saw so much towards the back half of the last year and taking growth from that,' Coen said.
Footballguys view: Lawrence really hit his stride last year in the second half of the season. He and Coen seem to be a great combination, and we expect the Jaguars to only get more dangerous on offense this season. That makes Lawrence a QB1, likely to finish in the top-10 at the position. However, there's a chance he could finish in the top-5 or even as the no.1 quarterback in fantasy football.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Hollywood Brown is expected to be used as a deep threat for the Eagles this upcoming season if he can stay healthy, in the opinion of EaglesWire's Glenn Erby.
Footballguys view: Brown is a seasoned veteran who can take the top off the defense. With DeVonta Smith set to be the main cog in the Eagles' passing game, Brown should help open things up and get a few opportunities here and there. Brown is working to be the team's no.4 receiver behind Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, and rookie Makai Lemon. That means there's not a ton of fantasy value with the veteran.
Hollywood Brown player page
Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins (Ravens) said he would like to sign with a contender but will not rush to sign with a team because he does not think he needs to be a superstar during the regular season.
Footballguys view: Hopkins is in the 'ring chasing' portion of his career. If he signs with a contender, the role may be for nothing more than veteran depth. Last year with the Ravens (17 games), Hopkins only had 22 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns. He's unlikely to be much of a fantasy factor when he does get a new team.

Baltimore Ravens CB Nate Wiggins shared that he played the last two seasons at 'about 60-70 percent' health while making an appearance on The Journey.
Link to storyFree-agent TE Zach Ertz (knee) said he's in a good spot in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. 'We're like five, almost six months now from surgery,' Ertz said. 'Just training every day, doing everything I can to get back to where I was. It's a long process. There's some long days, there's some long weeks, some long months... it's tough, but we're just trying to stack these days right now.'
Footballguys view: Ertz tore his ACL in Week 14 last year, and he's now looking for a new team. While he may not return to the Commanders (Chig Okonkwo is their starting TE), Ertz should get interest from a team in a championship window. However, we may have to wait and see if a job opens up in training camp or after the start of the regular season.

Denver Broncos WR Michael Woods II (undisclosed) was released from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, June 24, after the two sides reached an injury settlement.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford said he is ready to help QB Ty Simpson with different things with this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Simpson was a surprising pick by the Rams in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Reports out of OTAs suggest he's had trouble separating himself from Stetson Bennett, but that doesn't mean Simpson won't win the primary backup job to Stafford at some point in his rookie season. Simpson could be the future of the Rams at the quarterback position, and it sounds like Stafford will help as much as he can.

Free agent DB Ahmari Harvey (Broncos) signed a one-year contract on Thursday, June 25. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyDetroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold will remain jailed until Monday, June 29, when his pre-trial detention hearing will be conducted.
Link to storySan Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk said he would sign with the Washington Commanders if the 49ers release him.
Footballguys view: The speculation about Aiyuk ending up with the Commanders has been out there for some time. It helps the situation when former 49ers executive, and current Commanders GM, Adam Peters knows Aiyuk so well. The Commanders have Terry McLaurin as their top receiver, but adding Aiyuk (if healthy and motivated) would give QB Jayden Daniels another dangerous receiving weapon. Let's see if the 49ers release him (when they release him we should say), and then we'll see if the Commanders have interest.
