Jaguars | Gabe Davis lands on injured reserve Tue Nov 19, 02:03 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The Jaguars activated RB Keilan Robinson from the Reserve/Injured list to replace him on the roster.
Footballguys view: Davis suffered a season-ending meniscus tear during Sunday's loss to the Lions. Davis ends the 2024 season with 20 receptions for 239 yards with two touchdowns. |

Jaguars | Velus Jones back on practice squad Mon Nov 18, 05:47 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Velus Jones Jr. reverted back to the practice squad Monday, Nov. 18, after being on the injury report for the Week 11 game.
Link to storyJaguars | Gabe Davis out for season Mon Nov 18, 01:47 PM
Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (knee) will miss the rest of the season due to a torn meniscus, head coach Doug Pederson confirmed on Monday, Nov. 18.
Footballguys view: It leaves an already-depleted receiving corps even further depleted. Jacksonville already lost Christian Kirk to a broken collarbone that sent him to season-ending injured reserve list. With Davis' injury, the offense will fall on the shoulders of rookie standout Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and tight ends Evan Engram and Brenton Strange. |

Jaguars | Gabe Davis Believed To Have A Meniscus Tear Mon Nov 18, 10:30 AM
Jaguars standout WR Gabe Davis is believed to have suffered a meniscus tear on Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
Footballguys view: They are still assessing the injury, but Davis is expected to have surgery. During the procedure, doctors will determine if it's a full repair or just a trim. A full meniscus repair, often the option chosen, would knock Davis out for the season but is usually best for long-term health. A meniscus trim would likely land Davis on IR, but he could return this season. We'll follow up as needed. |

Jaguars | Gabe Davis quiet in Week 11 Sun Nov 17, 05:46 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis caught one pass for three yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. He was targeted three times during the game.
Footballguys view: With 2:56 remaining in the third quarter in the blowout loss to the Lions, Davis went down with a knee injury. The team's medical staff quickly ruled him out. The injury appeared to be non-contact, with Davis running before coming up lame on an untargeted route. Jacksonville brought in Davis via free agency this offseason. He has caught 19 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns through nine games. Davis missed one game with a shoulder injury. He sustained the injury in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers. We'll have more on his status going forward in coming days. The Jaguars have a Week 12 bye. |

Jaguars | Brian Thomas plays well in Week 11 Sun Nov 17, 05:34 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. caught five passes for 82 yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Footballguys view: Thomas was most of the offense for the Jaguars on a very very long afternoon in Detroit. Hopefully Trevor Lawrence will be back after the bye as promised and we won't have to agonize about whether to play his supertalented rookie #1 receiver. |

Link to storyJaguars | Trevor Lawrence ruled out Fri Nov 15, 04:57 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) did not take part in practice for the third straight day on Friday, Nov. 15, and was ruled out for Week 11.
Footballguys view: Head Coach Doug Pederson actually ruled Lawrence out on Wednesday due to the same left shoulder injury that sidelined him last week. Mac Jones will make his second consecutive start in Lawrence's absence. Jones threw for 111 yards and no touchdowns with three fourth-quarter turnovers -- two interceptions and a lost fumble -- in a 12-7 loss to the Vikings this past Sunday. He'll have a favorable passing matchup this week, but it's not clear Jones is ready to cash in on it. |

Jaguars | RB Tank Bigsby Ruled Out For Week 11 Fri Nov 15, 04:46 PM
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby is out Sunday against the Lions.
Footballguys view: Bigsby injured his ankle during this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings. After Bigsby sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday, coach Doug Pederson told Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union that the running back was slated to get back on the field Friday, but that didn't come to pass. As Harvey suggests, it will be up to Travis Etienne Jr. and D'Ernest Johnson to carry the load. Etienne said this week that he feels ready to roll. Etienne missed two games due to the injury. In two games back from that absence, Etienne has totaled 68 rushing yards on 14 carries and three catches for five yards. He's a low-end RB2/high-end flex play with Bigsby out in a tough matchup against Detroit. |

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) and RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) did not practice for a second straight day on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Footballguys view: Mac Jones is starting at quarterback in Week 11 as Lawrence has already been declared out. Bigsby has now missed both days of practice this week, and he's not trending in the right direction. Friday will determine his playing status for the game against the Lions on Sunday. |

Jaguars | Trevor Lawrence out for Week 11 Wed Nov 13, 10:45 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 11.
Footballguys view: Mac Jones is going to be the starter again for the Jaguars as they face the Lions. Reports indicate Lawrence could return after the team's Week 12 bye. Let's hope Jones learns to throw more passes to WR Brian Thomas in Week 11. |

Jaguars | Trevor Lawrence may be done for 2024 Tue Nov 12, 02:07 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) could miss the remainder of the season due to a serious AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: While the injury affects only his left shoulder, it can make throwing and simply functioning difficult. According to multiple reports, surgery is possible for Lawrence, though the current plan is for rest and rehab. While the team has called him day to day, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport contends week to week is a more accurate description. On Monday, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson shot down the notion that Lawrence could be facing surgery and an extended lay-off. "There's not been a talk on surgery, so I don't know where the surgery talk is coming from. Nothing like that," Pederson said. Otherwise, Pederson didn't provide much of an update on the status of Lawrence and his timeline to return. That will surely come as the week goes on, though signs could point to Mac Jones starting for the second week in a row. We'll continue to follow up. |

Jaguars | Not much for Brian Thomas Jr. Sun Nov 10, 05:28 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. managed just two receptions for 12 yards on three targets in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Footballguys view: Thomas was quiet and the reality is that Mac Jones still can't make anything happen as a downfield passer. It might be an overreaction to drop Thomas, but if he can't get anything going in garbage time against the Lions next week, that might be the best course of action after Week 11. |

Jaguars | Tank Bigsby limited to just two touches Sun Nov 10, 05:08 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby rushed twice for just four yards in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings, and he was not targeted in the pass game.
Footballguys view: Bigsby's low totals were due to injury. He was hurt during the first quarter and designated as questionable to return with an ankle injury. Bigsby ran up the middle for a short gain and was slow to get up after the play. He walked off under his own power and immediately went into the injury tent for evaluation. He didn't return. We'll follow up as further details come to light. |

Jaguars | Travis Etienne totals 12 touches Sun Nov 10, 04:53 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne rushed 11 times for 44 yards in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings, while adding one reception for minus-1 yard on his only target.
Footballguys view: Etienne resumed his role as the lead back, but mostly because Tank Bigsby left with an ankle injury. This offense is so limited without Trevor Lawrence that Etienne is only a what-the-heck flex even as the unquestioned starter against the Lions next week. |

Jaguars | Mac Jones tosses two picks as fill-in Sun Nov 10, 04:50 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Mac Jones completed 14-of-22 passes for 111 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions and a lost fumble in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings as he filled in for the injured QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder).
Footballguys view: Evan Engram is the only Jaguar we can play with Trevor Lawrence out and there are more signs that Lawrence is going to shut it down for the season. Jones could be replaced by CJ Beathard if he's not better next week at Detroit. |
