Welcome to Week 7 of the 2023 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. We split the conversation into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Rams and 49ers Backfields
- Second-Half Surge
- Dynasty Buy, Sell, or Hold? (see below)
- What's More Likely?
Let's roll.
Dynasty Buy-Sell-Hold
Matt Waldman: From the following list of players in dynasty leagues, which three players are you buying, selling, and/or holding?
- Rashod Bateman
- Jerry Jeudy
- Anthony Richardson
- Keaontay Ingram
- Quentin Johnston
- Jakobi Meyers
- Chuba Hubbard
Again, choose three.
Adam Wilde: Jerry Jeudy is a buy. A combination of injury and environment has derailed his career, but he has produced enough to be considered one of the more talented young receivers in the league. His value has tanked recently, as has his entire offense, as they struggle to exceed 20 points per game. His name has been synonymous with trade this offseason. Almost every destination would be a boost to his dynasty value.
We're reaching the time of year when teams start to feel they can go on a run, and others think they can't quite cut it. For teams who can't cut it and are rostering Jakobi Meyers, it's time to swap him for a pick. He's been a pleasant surprise for the Raiders. But his value is unlikely ever to exceed what it is currently, and it's difficult to trust his current role long-term.
Rashod Bateman is another first-round receiver, like Jeudy, who has failed to overcome difficult circumstances. The Ravens are just six weeks into Tod Monken's offense. As Lamar Jackson and the rest of the team get more comfortable, they will have a use for Bateman's talents. He's a first-rounder from just two seasons ago and is just now turning 24. His value has nowhere to go but up from here. Hold onto him.
