Giants | RB Gray in line for larger role Sun May 5, 03:43 PM
Dan Duggan, from The Athletic, reports New York Giants RB Eric Gray has "a clear path ... to have a bigger role" in the offense this season.
Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2023, Gray didn't do much as a rookie (17 carries, 48 yards). However, he appears to be in the mix behind starting RB Devin Singletary in 2024. Gray will compete with rookie Tyrone Tracy - also a fifth-round pick (Purdue) - in training camp for the no.2 job. Fantasy GMs need to keep an eye on this competition in case Singletary gets banged up during the year. |

Commanders | Will rely on ground game and defense Sun May 5, 03:39 PM
John Keim, from ESPN.com, reports the Washington Commanders "want to rely on a strong defense and run game to reduce the burden" on rookie first-round QB Jayden Daniels.
Footballguys view: That sounds about right. Daniels has MVP-like upside if he can stay healthy and play up to his potential in the future. However, as a rookie, there will be growing pains with Daniels. That's why the Commanders should lean on guys like Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson to do the heavy lifting on offense in 2024. |

Colts | Anthony Richardson 'full go' Sun May 5, 01:34 PM
Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is expected to have minimal restrictions during the offseason workout program, according to sources Sunday, May 5. The Colts be cautious with his workload, but Richardson wants to get started.
Footballguys view: Great news here. Richardson has all the skill required to be a perennial Pro Bowl quarterback in today's NFL. He needs to stay healthy to play up to that incredibly high potential. His rookie season looked great when he was on the field, but Richardson seemed to be banged up in every game before a shoulder injury finally knocked him out of action after just four contests. He's a QB1 for Fantasy GMs with injury risk (of course), and if Richardson finished 2024 as a top-5 fantasy quarterback we wouldn't be surprised. |
Texans | J.J. Watt would play again if Houston needed him Sun May 5, 08:56 AM
Retired DE J.J. Watt recently told Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans that he would be willing to unretire and suit up for the team in 2024 if Ryans 'absolutely needs it.'
Footballguys view: It's fun to think about, but it's not reality (is it?). Watt has continued to stay in playing shape since retiring at the end of the 2022 season but plans to scale back his training regimen in future years. |

Patriots | NE wants Caedan Wallace to play left tackle Sun May 5, 08:35 AM
The New England Patriots envision OT Caedan Wallace as a starting left tackle at the NFL level, even though he spent the bulk of his playing time at Penn State as a right tackle. OT Michael Onwenu is the Patriots' incumbent right tackle and he is expected to remain at the position.
Link to storyEagles | Three expected to compete for RG job Sun May 5, 08:13 AM
Philadelphia Eagles OGs Tyler Steen, Matt Hennessy and Trevor Keegan are expected to compete for the starting right guard job during training camp and the preseason, as a result of OL Cameron Jurgens moving from right guard to center.
Link to storyBuccaneers | Early role for Jalen McMillan? Sun May 5, 01:39 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan could be a 'true No. 3 receiver' this season with the offense expected to feature more three-receiver sets under offensive coordinator Liam Coen, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: McMillan has a ton of talent, and he could win the no.3 job on the depth chart behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as a rookie. The third-round pick out of Washington can be a consistent playmaker. He's got a nice size/speed combination, and McMillan is a savvy route runner who can create his own space before and after the catch. We love him in dynasty formats. |
Browns | Dorian Thompson-Robinson on track for camp Sun May 5, 01:39 AM
Cleveland Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (hip) is planning to participate in rookie minicamp.
Footballguys view: Thompson-Robinson is just trying to hang onto a roster spot this season. He's currently no.4 on the depth chart behind Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, and Tyler Huntley. As a rookie in 2023, Thompson-Robinson was able to get on the field for three starts - and it was rough. He does have some skills worth developing, but he's a project to be sure. We could see him land on the Browns' practice squad in 2024 to further develop. |

Raiders | Michael Gallup contract details Sat May 4, 12:43 PM
Updating a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders WR Michael Gallup's one-year deal is worth $1.75 million and can go up to $3 million with incentives.
Footballguys view: Gallup is a seasoned veteran, but he is on board with the Raiders on a 'prove it' deal. He's competing to be the no.3 receiver behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. |

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-year deal is worth a base value of $3 million and can go up to $8.25 million with incentives, according to a source on Friday, April 3.

Chiefs | Jared Wiley to contribute early? Sat May 4, 12:41 PM
Kansas City Chiefs TE Jared Wiley's versatility was what intrigued the team the most, according to general manager Brett Veach, and Wiley believes he can help the offense in the red zone as a rookie. 'I'm really confident in myself, especially in the red zone,' Wiley said. 'I felt like that was a spot this past year where I really made my money, so to speak.
Footballguys view: Wiley is one of our favorite tight ends in this draft class. He's got wide receiver-like skills at the tight end position. The Chiefs have a big-time weapon who gets to learn behind Travis Kelce. We love Wiley in dynasty formats. |

Green Bay Packers seventh-round draft choice QB Michael Pratt (Tulane) and CB Kalen King (Penn State) signed four-year contracts on Friday, May 3. Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.

New York Jets fifth-round draft choice QB Jordan Travis (ankle) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on May 3. Travis suffered a season-ending ankle injury in November.
Footballguys view: Travis is a smaller quarterback who plays with a ton of moxie. His teammates at Florida State loved him, and now he's trying to make it in the pros. Travis has a quick release and can be a threat as a runner. He'll get to develop behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor in 2024. |
Jets | Olumuyiwa Fashanu nursing minor injury Fri May 3, 03:28 PM
New York Jets first-round draft choice OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu (quad) will be limited throughout the team's rookie minicamp due to a quad strain he suffered during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine two months ago.

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is expected to practice without restrictions once the team begins Phase Three of its offseason program in two weeks, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on May 3.
Footballguys view: Great news for the Jets here. Rodgers needs to stay healthy and start winning games for the Jets or the entire staff will be blown out in 2025. We'll see what reports say about his health status during minicamp and into the training camp (and the preseason). For Fantasy GMs, Rodgers is a QB2 with upside in 2024. |

Bills | Buffalo signs Chase Claypool Fri May 3, 01:01 PM
Free-agent WR Chase Claypool (Dolphins) signed a one-year contract Friday, May 3, with the Buffalo Bills. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Good luck with that. Claypool has rare physical traits, but he's been a career disappointment since his first two seasons in the league (2020, 2021) with the Steelers. If he can stay focused and stay healthy, Claypool could show flashes of the player he used to be with his new team. That's a big if, so let's see how Claypool is performing in training camp before getting too interested in his potential this season. |
