| Footballguys view: Ertz must clear the league's concussion protocol before he can play. Ertz is Washington's top tight end and a favorite target of Jayden Daniels. He's the team's second-leading receiver behind Terry McLaurin and entered Sunday's game with 52 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns. He had two catches for 25 yards on Sunday against the Saints before the injury. There's little tight-end production behind Ertz on the Commanders' roster. John Bates is the No. 2 tight end on the depth chart. He entered Sunday's game with six catches for 64 yards this season. Rookie Ben Sinnot is also in the mix. We'll watch for more on this in coming days. |

Updating a previous report, Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion) suffered a concussion during the Week 15 game and has been ruled out.
| Footballguys view: Ertz was banged up while making a reaching, one-handed catch across the middle, banging his head on the turf while being brought down hard from behind by safety Will Harris at the New Orleans 4-yard line. While the catch set up Jayden Daniels' second touchdown pass of the game to Terry McLaurin for a 14-0 lead, Ertz walked on his own to the locker room and was ruled out for the rest of the game shortly afterward. The 34-year-old Ertz entered the game as Washington's second-leading receiver, with 52 catches for 501 yards and four touchdowns. He had two more catches for 25 yards in New Orleans before leaving the field. He must clear the league's concussion protocol to face the Eagles in Week 16. |

| Footballguys view: As Profootballltalk.com notes, the Commanders elevated Gonzalez from the practice squad for the third time this season on Sunday, which left them with the choice of signing Gonzalez to the active roster or finding someone else to do the kicking this week. Gonzalez filled in for Austin Seibert in two November Games and then returned for the win over the Titans after Seibert went on injured reserve last week. Gonzalez missed two field goals against Tennessee, but made the three he tried in November and he's 10-of-10 on extra points. |
