| Footballguys view: Engram signed a three-year, $41.25 MM contract with the team in July, and comes with a $13.5 million dead cap hit should the Jags cut him pre-June 1. A new staff may want to move on from the veteran tight end, or they may see the cap hit as something they don't want to deal with. |

Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (concussion, shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list earlier this week because of his left shoulder injury, not because of the concussion that he sustained in Week 13's game against the Houston Texans, according to head coach Doug Pederson. However, he won't be able to undergo surgery until after he clears concussion protocol.
| Footballguys view: Lawrence's season is over with this surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. He should be fine for training camp next year, and Lawrence could even get some work in during the offseason. However, when he returns to the football field the coaching staff should be much different. Unless something miraculous happens, Pederson is in the twilight of his coaching career with the Jaguars. |
