The bid percentage next to a waiver wire gem indicates the percentage of a "blind bid" budget used in some leagues to award free agent pickups. If your league does not use blind bid waivers, consider the number a way to rank the quality of waiver wire additions.

Quarterback Upgrades

  • QB Michael Penix Jr. ATL outlook up massively, bid: 50-100% Rostered by: Free Agent
    outlook up massively, bid: 50-100%

Penix was much better than his numbers in Week 16 because the Falcons didn't have to open up the offense to throttle the Giants. The one interception was not on him, and the offensive touchdowns came on the ground. Penix could be a better fantasy option in Week 17 in a rookie quarterback duel against Jayden Daniels, with playoff implications for both teams.

  • QB Bryce Young CAR outlook up massively, bid: 50-100% Rostered by: Free Agent
    outlook up massively, bid: 50-100%

Young made big contributions for fantasy as a runner and ended up posting QB1 level numbers in Week 16. The Panthers seem to relish playing spoiler, and they can do that again vs. the Bucs in Week 17 in a matchup that could force Young to air it out to match Baker Mayfield.
