Our Sigmund Bloom breaks it down. It's the kind of actionable and thoughtful information we plan to bring you all season long. When people ask, "Why should I buy a Footballguys Premium Subscription?", I point them to features like this.

1. TEN - Tennessee to acquire WR Julio Jones

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will be acquired by the Tennessee Titans in exchange for at least a second-round draft choice, according to sources. The deal may not be official for a few days since Jones needs to take a physical.

The Titans can entertain visions of going deep in the playoffs again with the best offense they have had in the Ryan Tannehill era. The Falcons basically had no choice unless they were going to push even more cap pain off into the future, and the team was loathe to do that in the first year of a new regime. The biggest fantasy winners are Kyle Pitts, Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry, and the biggest losers are Matt Ryan, Josh Reynolds, and Anthony Firkser, but the best move is to buy A.J. Brown in redraft leagues if his ADP falls. Check out our free winners and losers article for more details.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will be traded to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for at least a second-round draft choice, according to sources. The deal may not be official for a few days since Jones needs to take a physical.

Kyle Pitts and Calvin Ridley will both have outsized opportunity in the wake of this deal, and Russell Gage should get a shot to start. The new regime should also give Olamide Zaccheaus and sixth-round pick Frank Darby a chance to win more playing time in the vacuum left by the departure of one of the true icons of the franchise.

3. NE - Mac Jones struggles Friday

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots QB Mac Jones had some notable missed throws during practice Friday, June 4.

Jones has a golden opportunity with Cam Newton sidelined by a hand injury, but it sounds like he has been outplayed by Jarrett Stidham. It's possible that he's not even the backup to open the season, but it's still very very early in the 2021 calendar to make any pronouncements. This was still not the news you were looking for if you hoped Jones would start early in 2021 and revitalize the Patriots passing game.

4. NFL - Danny Vitale retires

Free-agent FB Danny Vitale (Patriots) announced his retirement from professional football in a post on his LinkedIn account Sunday, June 6.

Following Vitale's release last week, Jakob Johnson is entrenched as the Patriots fullback after entering the league via the International Player Pathway Program in 2019. He played linebacker in college at Tennessee after growing up in Germany.

5. NE - Terez Hall not on the field

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots LB Terez Hall (ankle) has not participated in offseason workouts because he is recovering from ankle surgery, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hall flashed last year in limited duty, but will probably be behind Dont'a Hightower this year. Inside linebackers coach Jared Mayo expressed a little hesitation assuming that Hightower would come back at 2019 form, so Hall is a name file away if Hightower can't stay healthy.

6. BUF - Cody Ford limited at practice

Buffalo Bills OG Cody Ford (undisclosed) has been wearing a no-contact jersey during offseason workouts.

Ike Boettger looked solid in spot starts at guard last year. He could take advantage of the opportunity opened up by Ford's status to convince the team that he is a core piece of the interior offensive line and perhaps create a trade market for Ford or free agent signing Forrest Lamp.

7. - WR Curtis Samuel to play all over

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel is an 'ascending player,' according to offensive coordinator Scott Turner. 'He can play all over the field, whether it's outside, inside, in the backfield, in motion,' Tuner said 'Those are going to be the things he does, which is everything.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Turner knows Samuel well from their time together in Carolina, and the Washington offensive coordinator wasn't shy about using Samuel as a runner when he had a short stint as playcaller for the Panthers. Ryan Fitzpatrick should be a bold downfield thrower and Samuel could some very winnable one-on-one matchups with Terry McLaurin on the other side. Samuel is an unknown upside player this year.

8. CLE - DT Sheldon Richardson may return

Source: BrownsWire -Jared Mueller

Free-agent DT Sheldon Richardson (Browns) could re-sign with the Cleveland Browns at some point this offseason, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Richardson has received interest from a few teams since being released.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Richardson was too expensive to keep and the Browns signed Malik Jackson and drafted Tommy Togiai in the fourth round this year to help ease the loss of Richardson. Richardson may want to stay with an ascending team that he could help put in Super Bowl contention.
