1. NE - Mac Jones the right fit?

Source: NFL Network - Mike Giardi

New England Patriots QB Mac Jones 'works' for the offense, according to a coach in the AFC East. 'And they'll also be able to run the 'O' the way Josh McDaniels wants it run, especially with the two tight ends they added,' the coach said.

Jones didn't fit every scheme out there, but he's a perfect fit for what New England does. The Alabama quarterback can win from the pocket with quick decision making and accurate throws to the short and intermediate range on the field. He may spend his rookie season as a backup to Cam Newton, but the future of this team could be in his hands and it could work out well given how his skill set fits what McDaniels does.

2. NE - QB Cam Newton working on technique

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton has been working with a throwing coach this offseason to improve his technique, and several of his teammates noticed a difference during offseason workouts last week.

Newton is getting more nuanced as a passer, and that work in the offseason should show up on the field. He's the starter for now but rookie first-round pick Mac Jones is the future at the position. Newton should begin the season as the starter but he may not finish the season at the top of the depth chart. If the team falters or if Jones takes a big step during the year, the Patriots will make a move.

3. DEN - RB Melvin Gordon to skip workouts

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos RB Melvin Gordon will not be at the offseason workouts this week because he likes to work out on his own but plans to participate in the upcoming minicamp.

These are voluntary workouts and the Broncos weren't expecting full attendance anyway. However, Gordon is in a position battle with rookie second-round pick Javonte Williams. This competition for the starting job could come down to the wire even though we're expecting the Broncos to use a RBBC in 2021. Williams is a powerful back, arguably the best running back in this class, and he's going to be the feature back for the team someday. Gordon is in the final year of his contract and wants to stay fresh this year and produce - something he's rarely done together in his career.

4. TB - Team Excited About Trask's Potential

Source: Jenna Laine - ESPN

Bucs QB Kyle Trask "impressed the coaching staff" with his knowledge of the playbook. "He was throwing to the right guy. There were some disguised coverages he saw the first day, so I was really impressed with how he processes, and he was very accurate," coach Bruce Arians said after rookie minicamp.

Trask could be the quarterback of the future for the Buccaneers. Tom Brady is their starter for another year or two, but Trask will get a chance to learn from one of the best as a backup. Trask has no problem attacking a defense downfield. He can move around a bit, but he's at his best when he can stand in the pocket and challenge one-on-one matchups on the outside deep. His processor can be a little slow at times and he needs to clean up his footwork but Trask is a player we'll be monitoring in dynasty formats.

5. NYG - Rookie WR Toney To Be Used in Multiple Roles

Source: Jordan Raanan - ESPN

Giants coach Joe Judge said 2021 first-round pick WR Kadarius Toney will be used in multiple roles. "There's going to be things you'll see that may look similar to what he did in college," said Judge. "We create enough versatility to play him in different spots but also we'll have to change our system like we do with everything."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's interesting to note how the team wants to move Toney around because reports last week were different. Dan Duggan, from The Athletic, reports Toney "mostly lined up in the slot and ran shorter routes" during Phase 1 of minicamp. It could be the team was just getting Toney's feet wet and they'll give him more diverse routes going forward. Either way, the rookie is one of the most dynamic players in this draft class and the Giants would be wise to find multiple ways to get him the football.
