Thanks To Our Sponsor, Footballguys

Howdy Folks,

Welcome to Friday.

It's not every day we debut a new feature for you but today is one of those days. We're stoked to show you our brand new Wisdom Of The Crowds rankings.

Plus we've got a killer rundown of the News this week, plus asking our Staff who they like at the 1.02 spot plus 12 Ride or Die picks and more.

Buckle up and let's go.

A. Our Newest Feature - Wisdom Of The Crowds Rankings
I've said for years there's no smarter group of Fantasy Football people than Footballguys Subscribers. And there are a LOT of you. We're up to almost half a million subscribers for the Daily Email Update and that number will continue to go up through August.
Anytime you have that many people coupled with the kind of football knowledge you folks have, there are some powerful opportunities.
This Wisdom Of The Crowds Rankings is one of those things.
The idea is simple. We throw up two players and you click on the one you'd prefer to draft. That's it. You'll then see the results for both your vote compared to other people in the Footballguys Community. And also how it compares to our Footballguys Staff Experts.
All the while, behind the scenes our Mathguys are taking all the other votes pouring in to create a complete list for how we rank all the players at that position. Which you can see too if you're logged in at Footballguys.
It's pretty rad and we're super excited about it. Check it out and let us know what you think.

1. BAL - TE Mark Andrews intends to play in 2020

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jonas Shaffer

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews intends to play in 2020, despite having Type 1 diabetes, as indicated by recent comments he made. 'We've got a big year coming up. I want to be able to do a lot of things, and ... just being able to help this team win is exciting for me,' Andrews said during a Zoom call with the Children with Diabetes Foundation.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is good news for Andrews fantasy teams, but this situation could change at any moment and there is likely to be at least a few players who sit out the season because they are in higher risk groups or otherwise weigh sitting out as the better choice than playing.

2. TB - RB Ronald Jones adds weight

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones said he has bulked up to 225 pounds this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The cases of this making a running back better are few and far between, but at least it's a sign that Jones has been taking his conditioning seriously during this unique offseason. Jones is likely to be the starter according to Mark Cook from the trusted Pewter Report and should be the first Bucs running back off of the board in redraft leagues.

3. LAC - Two competing for RB2 with LAC

Source: Chargers Wire - Gavino Borquez

Los Angeles Chargers RB Justin Jackson and fourth-round pick RB Joshua Kelley will compete for the second running back spot. The team is still high on Jackson, who averaged 5.1 yards per carry on 79 rushes, but he only played seven games due to injury last year.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson has proven that he can perform in the NFL, but he isn't as well suited for short yardage as Kelley and could still give way to the rookie on any goal line snaps that don't go to Austin Ekeler (which could be a lot of them). Jackson is the favorite to win the #2 job if he can stay healthy in camp, but if he gets hurt or misses time this year, Kelley could pass him and never look back. Either could be fantasy relevant with the Chargers looking to go more run heavy in the wake of the Philip Rivers era.

4. JAX - CJ Henderson agrees to rookie deal

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars CB CJ Henderson agreed to terms Thursday, July 16, on his four-year rookie deal that includes a team option for the fifth year. The financial terms follow the NFL's slotting rules, and Henderson will receive $20.5 million in guaranteed money with no offset language.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henderson should be a Week 1 starter with Tre Herndon the likely counterpart on the other side of the field. The Jaguars should be a choice matchup for wide receivers and quarterbacks, especially if Yannick Ngakoue is traded or holds out. Henderson is set up well in IDP leagues for an instant impact with the likelihood that he gets targeted frequently.

5. TB - OLB Shaquil Barrett officially under tag

Updating a previous story, Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Shaquil Barrett officially signed his franchise tag tender Thursday, July 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barrett is still working on a grievance to be paid as a defensive end instead of outside linebacker but otherwise it sounds like the relationship between him and the team is still very good and he would definitely be in strong consideration to get a long term deal next year if he plays anywhere near the level he did last year.
