I. Quality Starts - Running Backs
"Quality Starts" is a term pioneered from the Fantasy Baseball gurus. It's a statistic that represents how often a starting pitcher will put up a good (not great, just good) performance in a given game. Jeff Pasquino brings it to Football and in this one, applies it to running backs.

1. NYJ - S Jamal Adams' rift with head coach

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets S Jamal Adams' rift with the New York Jets stems over his contract, but head coach Adam Gase also is a major factor in the issue. Adams does not want to play for Gase anymore for myriad reasons, according to sources. According to this and other reports there are few players who respond well to their head coach. Some team sources believe that QBs Sam Darnold and David Fales are among the few returning players that actually tolerate Gase.

This is certainly a make-or-break year for Gase who has now failed with two franchises (Jets, Dolphins) as their head coach. He's been riding the cache he built as the OC for a Peyton Manning Broncos team, but their success should have been attributed more to the future Hall of Fame quarterback and not as much for Gase.

2. CLE - WR Odell Beckham Jr. looks ready to play

Source: ESPN - Jake Trotter

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (core) is 'free and clear' following core muscle surgery, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski added Beckham is '100 percent and looking really good.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

His core muscle surgery was back in January but it sounds like Beckham could play if games were today. We'll see him participate early in training camp if he truly is free and clear. Beckham is a seasoned veteran who doesn't need a ton of reps, so perhaps the team will just ease him into action to be safe.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) is 'looking great' in videos of him moving around, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski Thursday, June 25.

He had surgery in February and has been on the road to recovery ever since then. Landry said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery and hopes to be ready for football activities in August.

Source: - Grant Gordon

Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Shaquil Barrett said he's about 50-50 if he'll sign the franchise tag, and he'll find out more information Friday, June 26. The tender is worth $15.8 million.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barrett exploded onto the scene last season, snaring 19.5 sacks in his first year with the Buccaneers. He is looking for a long-term contract and has until July 15th to get that deal done.

5. DET - QB Matthew Stafford leading workouts

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) was seen working out with teammates in a video shared to social media by the team Thursday, June 25.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford was on fire last year before a back injury knocked him out for eight games. This season, Stafford is back and looking for a bounce-back season. With a current ADP of QB13 (10.01), Stafford could prove to be a great value pick if he stays healthy and picks up where he left off in 2019.

6. CLE - QB Baker Mayfield discouraged to work with teammates

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield has been discouraged to work out with teammates in effort to limit the chance of contracting and spreading COVID-19, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters during a Thursday, June 25, Zoom call.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All players have been discouraged from working out together from the NFLPA. Some are listening to the recommendations and others are not.

7. NFL - WR Josh Gordon expecting reinstatement answer within month

Source: - Jeremy Fowler

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) expects an answer from commissioner Roger Goodell on his application for reinstatement within the next 30 days.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon wants to get back in the NFL and there should be some interest in the veteran when he gets reinstated. We could even see Seattle bring him back for depth at the position. There are rumblings that the Ravens might have interest too and we're sure there are others.
