1. PHI - QB Carson Wentz trade near?

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is close to being traded, according to an NFL source Friday, Feb. 5.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles got rid of head coach Doug Pederson in a move most thought was a vote of confidence for Wentz. Now, things still seem cool between the former no.2 overall pick and the franchise. The Colts, and head coach Frank Reich, seem the most likely to add Wentz via trade. Reich worked well with Wentz earlier in his career and could get the young quarterback's career back on track.

2. KC - WR Sammy Watkins listed as questionable

Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (calf) was a full participant in practice Friday, Feb. 5, and is listed as questionable for Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins has been working to get back out there for the big game. He could be there on the field for the Chiefs on Sunday. Last year in the Super Bowl, Watkins snared five catches for 98 yards. He might not do that this time around, but having him out there is a boost for the Chiefs offense.

3. TB - WR Antonio Brown questionable for Sunday

Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 5, for the second straight day, and is listed as questionable for Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown should be out there for the Buccaneers. The numbers of snaps and the size of his role is unknown at this time.

4. KC - QB Patrick Mahomes ready to play

Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 5, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LV.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The toe injury was a bit of a concern when he first was injured. It's not a problem now, and he'll be as close to full strength as possible for Super Sunday.

5. WAS - Doug Williams changes roles

Source: Washington Football Team

Washington Football Team senior vice president of player development Doug Williams was named as Senior Advisor to team president Jason Wright on Thursday, Feb. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams has had a few roles as an executive with Washington. Working hand-in-hand with Wright will be great for both gentlemen.

6. SF - RB Frank Gore open to return

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Frank Gore said he would be open to signing with the San Francisco 49ers this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore still wants to play and should be able to find a home in the NFL. The 49ers have Raheem Mostert and Jeffrey Wilson as the top two backs but getting Gore would give them valuable veteran depth and more power at the position.

7. TB - WR Mike Evans on track to play

Source: Buccaneers.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 5, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LV.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Back in Week 12 against the Chiefs, Evans had just three catches for 50 yards...but two of those catches were for touchdowns. He's a favorite target of QB Tom Brady, and should be a key player for the Buccaneers offense in the Super Bowl.

8. WAS - QB Alex Smith could return to WAS

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Football Team QB Alex Smith could return as the starter in 2021, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Washington believes the trio of Smith, Kyle Allen and Taylor Heinicke can deliver nine or 10 wins with upgrades elsewhere on offense and if the defense continues to progress.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rivera said that all options are on the table. Smith made a miraculous comeback in the 2020 season and looked solid as a starter. He's signed through the 2022 season and has a cap hit in 2021 of $24.4 million with $10.8 million remaining in dead money.

9. NFL - Trevor Lawrence dealing with injury

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo

Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is dealing with a labrum injury in his left shoulder and will throw for teams Feb. 12, so he can have more time to recover from the injury. He is expected to ready for training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's Lawrence's non-throwing shoulder, so it's less of a concern. Lawrence has the makings of a franchise quarterback and should be the no.1 overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

10. TB - WR Chris Godwin will be in uniform

Source: Buccaneers.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 5, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LV.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Godwin was a big part of what the Buccaneers passing game did through the air against the Chiefs back in Week 12. He was targeted nine times, catching eight passes for 97 yards. Godwin will be a key part of what they do on offense in this rematch on Super Sunday.

11. TB - RB Leonard Fournette fumbles scarce

Source: ProFootballFocus.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette has not fumbled since Week 17 of the 2017 season -- a total of 613 carries -- according to Pro Football Focus data.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette will work in tandem with Ronald Jones for the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl. We'll see how much of an emphasis the Bucs have on running the ball. Both backs can also be used as receivers out of the backfield, and the Buccaneers may do that in order to slow down the Chiefs pass rush.

12. CHI - QB Nick Foles could open 2021 as QB1

Source: The Athletic - Kevin Fishbain

Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles could be the team's Week 1 starter under certain scenarios, in the opinion of The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain, who writes that one of them could be as a bridge to an early-round draft pick.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foles is signed through the 2022 season. The Bears aren't going to take that next step with him or Mitchell Trubisky (who is a free agent this offseason), and that's why they'll have to pick somebody to be a bridge quarterback.

13. KC - WR Demarcus Robinson officially activated

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Feb. 5.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson should be out there with a part-time role for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. He's got speed to make any catch turn into a big play.

14. BUF - WR John Brown's future uncertain in Buffalo

Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown is someone that could be released this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Marcel Louis-Jacques, who notes that cutting Brown would save the team $7.9 million.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The article highlights how Brown might be open to a pay cut if the team approaches him. The Bills have Gabriel Davis waiting to do more, and if Brown is released then Davis will work as the no.2 receiver opposite of Stefon Diggs.
