1. SF - Brandon Aiyuk officially activated
Source: NFLCommunications.com
San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 listed Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Let's see how the week progresses but clearly great news for Aiyuk.
2. DET - WR Kenny Golladay idle
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Detroit Lions WR Kenny Golladay (hip) remains out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is not a great sign for Golladay. He's already missed a month's worth of action with this hip injury. Missing practice on Wednesday hurts his chances of returning in Week 13. Let's see if he can do anything later in the week.
3. IND - Jonathan Taylor activated
Source: Colts.com
Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The rookie back was out in Week 12 after he was ruled a high-risk close contact. Taylor should be considered at least a RB2 with upside in Week 13 against the Texans.
4. MIN - WR Adam Thielen activated
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dec. 2, and he'll practice.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Thielen tested negative but the Vikings held out the veteran receiver last week. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer expects Thielen to play in Week 13 against the Jaguars. He's a WR1 in this matchup for Fantasy GMs and a welcome return to the field.
5. PHI - TE Zach Ertz ready to play
Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (ankle) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ertz is back in action for the Eagles but Fantasy GMs need to remember that he wasn't doing much before going down with this ankle injury. Dallas Goedert is still the top tight end for the Eagles. With Ertz back on the field as the no.2 tight end, Richard Rodgers moves to the no.3 spot.
6. NYG - QB Daniel Jones does not practice
Source: Giants.com - Dan Salomone
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hamstring injuries are tricky to deal with. The team has to be cautious with their athletic quarterback. The buzz is that he will miss time, likely just one week -- this week -- and then return after that. Colt McCoy will start when they officially designate Jones as being 'out' for Week 13.
7. LAC - QB Tyrod Taylor declines grievance
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Los Angeles Chargers QB Tyrod Taylor declined to file a grievance against the team and its doctor for administering a pain-killing shot in mid-September that led to a puncture in his lung.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That shot was incredibly costly for Taylor as he lost his starting job -- perhaps his last chance as a starter -- and had to miss multiple games. While Taylor is not proceeding with any grievances, the NFL Players Association is still reviewing the matter.
8. DEN - RB Phillip Lindsay to sit out Wednesday
Source: NFL Network - James Palmer
Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (knee) will not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lindsay slightly tweaked his knee against the Saints on Sunday. The team is still optimistic about his availability for Week 13.
9. CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky officially named starter
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky was named the Week 13 starter by head coach Matt Nagy Wednesday, Dec. 2. He'll start Sunday, Dec. 6, against the Detroit Lions.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bears could go back-and-forth on their starter before the season is over. Trubisky starts again for now, but Nick Foles could be called upon again if (when?) Trubisky struggles.
10. DEN - Limited practice for Jerry Jeudy
Source: Denver7 Sports - Troy Renck
Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's a Sunday night game for the Broncos this week as they travel to take on the Chiefs. Jeudy should have QB Drew Lock back out there tossing the rock. We see the rookie wide receiver as a deep flex option for Fantasy GMs.
11. LVR - WR Nelson Agholor absent Wednesday
Source: Raiders.com
Las Vegas Raiders WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Raiders no.1 receiver is a WR4/flex option for Fantasy GMs. He's earned the trust of QB Derek Carr and has been their most consistent receiver. We should see him practice fully later in the week.
12. NE - QB Cam Newton a limited participant
Source: Patriots.com
New England Patriots QB Cam Newton (abdomen) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Newton takes a lot of punishment during games, so limiting him on Wednesday just makes sense. He should be a full participant by the end of the week.
13. DET - D'Andre Swift a limited participant
Source: DetroitLions.com
Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The rookie hasn't played since Week 109 as he's dealt with this concussion. Lions interim coach Darrell Bevell said he's "optimistic" about Swift's chances of returning this week.
14. NYJ - WR Breshad Perriman limited Wednesday
Source: Raiders.com
New York Jets WR Breshad Perriman (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That sounds about right. Perriman is worth considering as a WR4 or flex play so long as he's healthy. We should see him do more on Friday.
15. CHI - QB Nick Foles gets in limited practice
Source: Chicago Bears PR
Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles (hip) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's the first time Foles has been able to practice in some time. If healthy, he'll return as the backup to Mitchell Trubisky...again...and for now. If (when?) Trubisky struggles, they could go back to Foles.
16. CLE - WR Jarvis Landry gets in full practice
Source: ClevelandBrowns.com
Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) was listed on the injury report Wednesday, Dec. 2, as a full participant at practice.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Good news for Landry and the Browns.
17. LVR - RB Josh Jacobs doesn't practice Wednesday
Source: Raiders.com
Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jacobs status for Week 13 is up in the air. Let's see if he can practice on Friday. Devontae Booker would get a large role if Jacobs can't play.
18. MIN - RB Dalvin Cook limited at Wednesday practice
Source: Vikings.com
Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cook has been carrying a heavy workload for the Vikings and is a little banged up. They'll limit him during the week to get him some rest. Even if he's got a slightly reduced role in the game, Cook is still a must-start RB1 for Fantasy GMs.
19. NO - RB Alvin Kamara limited Wednesday
Source: NewOrleansSaints.com
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (foot) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kamara is a little banged up with this foot injury but his fantasy value has been impacted most by QB Taysom Hill. With Hill as the starter in the last two games, Kamara only has one reception. The current situation with Hill means that Kamara is more of a RB2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs.
That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
Peace,
J
