News And Notes From Around The League

Howdy Folks,

It's another weird week in 2020. What else is new? Let's get to this.

1. BAL - J.K. Dobbins expected to go

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (illness) is expected to fly to Pittsburgh Wednesday, Dec. 2, and be eligible to play in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The game is finally going to be played after getting moved back from the Thanksgiving slate last week. Dobbins is up against a tough defense but Fantasy GMs might be waiting for him as a flex play in Week 12.

Ingram is going to split time in the backfield for the Ravens. He might pay off as a deep flex play but only if he scores a touchdown.

3. DEN - Denver gets all of its QBs back

Source: The Denver Post - Ryan O'Halloran

Denver Broncos QBs Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles were activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos should have Drew Lock on the field as their starter on Sunday night against the Chiefs. There could be some discipline for Lock from the team or the league but we doubt that includes a benching. We could see fines for the quarterback room after they failed to follow COVID protocol and all had to miss the game against the Saints in Week 12.

4. SF - TE George Kittle, QB Jimmy Garoppolo could return?

Source: Bay Area News Group - Cam Inman

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (foot) and QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) have both been sidelined since Week 8, but head coach Kyle Shanahan is 'holding out hope for ... the last couple weeks.''I think they're in a similar boat, but that I mean that's not guaranteed. ... They're just starting to get into where they get on the field and not with us but on their own to do some stuff,' Shanahan said of their rehabs Tuesday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The chances of both returning are slim to be sure. Kittle wants to return and Fantasy GMs headed for the fantasy playoffs would love that. He is likely to miss at least the next couple of games at least with maybe a return in Week 16. Don't hold out too much hope and stay tuned.

Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Laquon Treadwell was signed to the active roster Tuesday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The former first-round pick could make his Falcons debut in the near future. WR Olamide Zaccheaus (toe) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list to make room. We're not expecting much from Treadwell if he does make it onto the field.

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Free-agent WR Joe Webb (Lions) is visiting the New York Giants Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The Lions had Webb on their practice squad for about a month earlier this year. The Giants are likely just updating their emergency list here.

7. WAS - RB Bryce Love unlikely to play in 2020

Source: The Washington Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Washington Football Team RB Bryce Love (knee) hasn't practiced much since he was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list nearly three weeks ago, and it appears as if he will remain on the Reserve/Injured list as the 21-day window to activate him expires Wednesday, Dec. 2, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Love's pro career is likely to be summed up as 'what might have been.' Before his injury at Stanford, Love was a dangerous playmaker who took over that backfield after Christian McCaffrey left for the pro and looked fantastic. His knee has been a problem ever since. We'll continue to monitor him in crazy deep dynasty formats but that's about it.

8. CHI - QB Tyler Bray guarded from selection

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Chicago Bears QB Tyler Bray was designated as a protected practice squad player for Week 13 Tuesday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles have been banged up this season, Bray is there as a reserve player who can carry a clipboard and step onto the field in an emergency.

9. PHI - QB Carson Wentz making dubious history

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz owns a passer rating of 73.4 in 2020 - a decline of 24.9 from his previous three seasons combined. It's the fifth-largest such drop by a quarterback in league history and the largest drop by a quarterback under the age of 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wentz is just a shell of the player he used to be. The Eagles do not protect him well and he's feeling pressure -- even sometimes when it's not there. Wentz is too expensive to move on from, so we'll see if he can turn it around for the team in 2021.

10. WAS - QB Taylor Heinicke expected to land with WFT

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Free-agent QB Taylor Heinicke (XFL) is expected to sign with the Washington Football Team's practice squad once he has cleared COVID-19 testing, according to a source Tuesday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Heinicke has been with Ron Rivera before back with the Panthers. He's a backup-caliber quarterback who gives them veteran depth behind starter Alex Smith.
