BAL-PIT Moved To Wednesday Plus News And Notes

Howdy Folks,

It's another day of juggling the schedule. The Batlimore - Pittsburgh game has been moved again. As my buddy, Keith Overton said, "Nothing says 2020 like Wednesday afternoon Football". We've got the News and Notes you need so let's get to it.

1. BAL - RB Mark Ingram may play in Week 12

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram (illness) will be eligible to play in the Week 12 game since he would have completed his 10-day isolation by Wednesday, Dec. 2.

We don't get to make the decisions on when the games are played. Fair or not, the reality is Ingram will be available to play on Wednesday.

3. HOU - WR Will Fuller hit with six-game suspension

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller was suspended by the NFL for six games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug substance policy on Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Huge news for Fantasy GMs here. The suspension means that Fuller is out for the rest of the 2020 season. Fuller had finally stayed healthy and was playing up to the enormous potential he's always had. He will be an unrestricted free agent next year and still will have a one-game suspension to serve wherever he lands. Brandin Cooks, Keke Coutee, and rookie Isaiah Coulter are the top three wide receivers for the Texans going forward.

4. NYG - QB Daniel Jones not expected to play in Week 13

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (hamstring) has an 'outside chance' of suiting up in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks after an MRI on Monday, Nov. 30, revealed that Jones suffered a hamstring strain in Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones tried to come back in the game on Sunday but couldn't even stand in the pocket to throw. Hamstring injuries can linger if not given enough time to heal, especially for a running quarterback. The Giants will turn to Colt McCoy while Jones is out.

5. PHI - TE Zach Ertz remains out

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (ankle) will not be activated from the Reserve/Injured list to play Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has been optimistic about Ertz's status for a couple of weeks yet he's not been able to play. Dallas Goedert and Richard Rodgers will continue to work at the tight end position while Ertz continues to miss time.

6. JAX - Doug Marrone safe for now

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone and the coaching staff will remain in their positions for the rest of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars fired GM Dave Caldwell on Sunday and Marrone is likely next. Jaguars owner Shad Khan may wait until later in the season or after the season before making the change. There is no doubt the Jaguars are likely to get a new coach/quarterback combination for the 2021 season.

7. DEN - Denver to add Kyle Shurmur

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent QB Kyle Shurmur (Chiefs) will be signing with the Denver Broncos after he goes through the COVID-19 protocol, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has liked Shurmur since he came into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He's a tall passer who can run a pro-style offense. Shurmur is the son of Broncos OC Pat Shurmur and might be tasked with being a 'quarantine quarterback' for the team. They were without a quarterback on Sunday against the Saints due to COVID violations.

8. HOU - WR Keke Coutee to have bigger role

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee is expected to join the starting lineup with WR Will Fuller suspended for the rest of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Get to your waiver wire to see if Coutee is out there. He's always had talent but has needed to stay healthy and stay patient for his opportunity. Well, it seems like that intersection is here now.

9. NE - WR Julian Edelman put on COVID list

Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (knee) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No word on whether or not Edelman tested positive for COVID or if he was just a close contact. Edelman hasn't practiced since October and he's still on IR with a knee injury. The Patriots move on with Jakobi Meyers, N'Keal Harry and Damiere Byrd as their top-3 wideouts.

10. LVR - RB Josh Jacobs could play in Week 13

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) has 'a chance' to play in Week 13 'depending on how he feels' later in the week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jacobs is likely to be limited during the week of practice. Fantasy GMs need to check in on Friday to see what his status is for Week 13. The Raiders are on the road against the Jets on Sunday.

11. DEN - RB Phillip Lindsay may play in Week 13

Source: The Denver Post - Ryan O'Halloran

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (knee) may be able to play in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to comments made by head coach Vic Fangio on Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a minor tweak according to rumblings around the team. That's good news for Lindsay, Fantasy GMs and the Broncos. Lindsay is the best back on their roster yet Melvin Gordon continues to get a ton of work (because they paid him). Against the high-powered Chiefs on Sunday night in Week 13, the Broncos need to run the rock as much as possible to eat up the time of possession and hide second-year QB Drew Lock. We'll know more about Lindsay's status at the end of the week.

12. TB - RB Ronald Jones about to see more work?

Source: Buccaneers.com - Carmen Vitali

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones' lack of touches (10) in Week 12 was due primarily to the team needing its pass-catchers on the field, according to head coach Bruce Arians.'I don't think there's any doubt (Jones) needs to have 20 touches,' Arians told the team's website Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones has been productive this year but his usage in the Buccaneers offense is inconsistent. We'll see if the Buccaneers turn to Jones in order to stabilize the offense and get back on the winning track to close out the regular season.

13. IND - Jonathan Taylor set to return Wednesday

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Jim Ayello

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor was deemed a 'high-risk close contact' and did not test positive for COVID-19 last week. As such, he is expected to be available and practice all week leading into the Colts' Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That means Taylor will be back into the running back rotation for the Colts. This will negatively impact the touches for Jordan Wilkins and should cut into the touches that Nyheim Hines gets as well. Taylor is a RB2/flex option with upside most any week he's out there.

14. CIN - Joe Burrow set to have surgery this week

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (knee) is scheduled to travel to Los Angeles to undergo reconstructive knee surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament later this week, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Burrow has a long road ahead of him. The Bengals and the league suffer without the young, potential superstar quarterback on the field. This is an injury that usually takes 12 months to come back from. That puts Burrow's status for the beginning of the 2021 season in question.

15. CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky likely to start again in Week 13

Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is expected to draw another start in Week 13 versus the Detroit Lions, according to comments made by head coach Matt Nagy on Monday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trubisky practiced all last week while Nick Foles did not due to a hip injury. We don't yet know how much Foles will be able to do this week in practice, making Trubisky the early-week call as the starter for Week 13.
