1. Pessimism About Playing BAL at PIT Game
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Adam Schefter reported: "Four more Ravens players and one more staff have tested positive for COVID, source tells ESPN.
Game Sunday still on for now, but chances of it being played are diminishing quickly."
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Schefter also reported, "One source on Sundays scheduled Ravens-Steelers game: No way it can be played."
It's not official yet but it's looking like this game may not happen for Week 12. We hope to have clarity on Friday but for now, be prepared to not have Baltimore and Pittsburgh players available.
2. BAL - QB Lamar Jackson tests positive
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) has tested positive for COVID-19, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
A huge blow for Baltimore, obviously. Robert Griffin III would get the start.
3. GB - WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling joins injury report
Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Achilles) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Allen Lazard was back last week and he could get more work going forward. With Valdes-Scantling banged up his window of fantasy relevance may be closing. Let's see what he can do on Friday.
4. MIA - Tua Tagovailoa should play
Source: The Associated Press
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) looked better Thursday, Nov. 26, as he deals with a sore thumb, and head coach Brian Flores is optimistic about his status for Sunday's Week 12 game against the New York Jets. 'He got banged up a little bit,' Flores said Thursday. 'I don't think this is something we're too worried about. ... He's getting treatment, he's rehabbing. We'll see how this goes. It's sore, but he's a tough kid. He has played through some things before.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Tagovailoa was benched against the Broncos last week. The team was trying to come back against Denver and turned to Ryan Fitzpatrick and he almost won the game. This week against the Jets, the Dolphins are unlikely to fall behind so Tagovailoa's status as the starter is safe.
5. ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald out in Week 12
Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 and is out for Week 12.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fitzgerald is a key piece of the Cardinals passing attack. Without him on the field in the slot we'll see Andy Isabella get more playing time. That makes Isabella a WR3/flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 12. Christian Kirk could get more targets as well.
6. MIA - Salvon Ahmed misses another practice
Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan
Miami Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) did not practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin (knee) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Nov. 25. He's likely another week from returning but is close to getting back out there. If Ahmed can't play, the Dolphins would turn to Matt Breida for more snaps. Check to see if Ahmed can practice on Friday and if Gaskin is going to get to play this week or have to wait one more week.
7. CIN - RB Giovani Bernard upgraded
Source: Bengals.com
Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (concussion) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bernard's concussion came up mid-week. The Bengals would have to turn to guys like Samaje Perine and Trayveon Williams if Bernard can't play in Week 12. We'll see if there are any setbacks for the veteran back after practicing in a limited fashion on Thursday.
8. CHI - QB Nick Foles misses practice
Source: ChicagoBears.com
Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles (hip) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Foles has not practiced this week. That makes it look like the Bears are going to go with Mitchell Trubisky as the starter in Week 12. No starter has officially been named, but all signs are pointing to Foles missing time.
9. DEN - Jerry Jeudy may miss practice
Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis
Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle, Achilles) could sit out practice Thursday, Nov. 26, head coach Vic Fangio said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jeudy is merely a 'what the heck' flex if he plays in Week 12 against the Saints. He's getting open regularly but his chemistry with QB Drew Lock is a work in progress at best.
10. BUF - WR John Brown remains sidelined
Source: BuffaloBills.com
Buffalo Bills WR John Brown (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26. The Bills did not hold a practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ah yes, the old 'estimated' practice report. Watch Brown's status when the Bills actually do practice. The team's passing attack just looks better when Brown is out there.
11. GB - WR Davante Adams misses practice
Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
No worries here. The Packers have a practice plan for Adams, just like they did last week, and that's for him to be limited during the week. He should be good to go against the Bears as a WR1 for Fantasy GMs every time he's on the field.
12. NYJ - RB Frank Gore does not practice
Source: NewYorkJets.com
New York Jets RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gore is just getting some veteran rest here. With LaMical Perine banged up with an ankle injury, the team might turn to Ty Johnson or Josh Adams as reserve runners behind Gore in Week 12.
13. LAR - TE Tyler Higbee iffy for Week 12
Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue
Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) is expected to be a game-time decision in Week 12 versus the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Sean McVay.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Rams have a talented duo at the tight end position with Higbee and Gerald Everett. If Higbee can't play, then Everett could post TE1 numbers in Week 12.
14. MIN - TE Irv Smith Jr. misses practice
Source: Vikings.com
Minnesota Vikings TE Irv Smith (groin, back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26, as he deals with groin and back injuries.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smith is a talented player but the Vikings don't use him as much as they should. Now that he's banged up, they may turn to Kyle Rudolph more. Have other options ready if you were thinking about playing Smith.
15. NYJ - QB Sam Darnold upgraded Thursday
Source: NewYorkJets.com
New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It looks like Darnold could be out there against the Dolphins in Week 12. That means Joe Flacco would go back to the bench. Let's see what Darnold can do on Friday and if there's any sort of official announcement that he's back as the starter.
16. CHI - Chicago's Thursday practice report
Source: ChicagoBears.com
Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles (hip) and DT Akiem Hicks (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26. OL Charles Leno Jr. (toe) was added to the injury report Thursday and also did not practice. OL Rashaad Coward (ankle), TE Jimmy Graham (rest), DT John Jenkins (ankle), DB Sherrick McManis (hand), LB Barkevious Mingo (shoulder), RB David Montgomery (concussion), OL Sam Mustipher (knee), WR Cordarrelle Patterson (calf), LB Danny Trevathan (personal) and QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) practiced in full.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's not official but it looks like the Bears are going to go with Trubisky as their starter. He's been practicing this week while Foles has been out of action.
17. CHI - QB Nick Foles considered day-to-day
Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs
Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles (hip) is 'day to day' with his hip injury, according to head coach Matt Nagy.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That sounds about right. The Bears could turn to Mitchell Trubisky in Week 12. He's been practicing this week while Foles has been missing time.
18. CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky fully practices
Source: ChicagoBears.com
Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
No starter has been officially announced. However, Trubisky has been practicing this week while Nick Foles has missed time due to a hip injury. We should see Trubisky starting for the Bears in Week 12.
19. DEN - QB Jeff Driskel headed to COVID list
Source: DNVR Sports - Zac Stevens
Denver Broncos QB Jeff Driskel on Thursday, Nov. 26, will be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Driskel is just a third-string backup at best for the Broncos. Drew Lock is their starter and Brett Rypien is the primary reserve quarterback. The Broncos also have Blake Bortles on the roster.
20. CHI - Full practice for RB David Montgomery
Source: ChicagoBears.com
Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Montgomery will be back out there for the Bears on Sunday. Against the Packers we see Montgomery as a RB2/flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 12.
21. NO - Thursday's practice report for New Orleans
Source: NewOrleansSaints.com
New Orleans Saints WR Deonte Harris (neck) and LG Andrus Peat (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26. RB Alvin Kamara (foot) and WR Michael Thomas (ankle). RB Ty Montgomery (hamstring) was added to the injury report Thursday and was also limited. TE Josh Hill (concussion), RB Dwayne Washington (back) and CB Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) practiced in full.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kamara is a little banged up but has a great matchup against the Broncos in Week 12. We think Latavius Murray should be considered a 'what the heck' flex by Fantasy GMs on Sunday.
22. CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky likely to get Week 12 nod
Source: Chicago Tribune
Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) practiced in full for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 26, and is expected to draw the start over Nick Foles in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers, according to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Zero surprise here. Trubisky has been practicing this week while Foles has yet to practice. Bears coach Matt Nagy is being coy but the writing is on the wall -- we're going to see Trubisky back as the starter.
That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
Peace,
