Happy Almost Thanksgiving

Howdy Folks,

It's almost Thanksgiving and we can't wait. I hope you're able to have a restful and happy holiday. We've got some News and Notes so let's get to it.

J

1. BAL - Pittsburgh Game In Question

Source: Tom Pelissero - NFL Network

Tom Pelissero reports, "The NFL is closely monitoring the situation with the Ravens, who have had 10 confirmed new positive COVID-19 cases among players and Tier 1 - Tier 2 personnel in the past week. Expect decisions Wednesday before the team travels to Pittsburgh."

We'll hopefully have clarity on this by Wednesday afternoon. If you have Ravens or Steelers in your lineups, be ready to make a move if needed.

2. ARI - QB Kyler Murray rehabbing but expected for Week 12

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (shoulder) was rehabbing off to the side in practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray's status was just precautionary according to the second-year quarterback. He clearly was not himself against the Seahawks but there's no reason to think he won't be out there in Week 12. The Cardinals are on the road against the Patriots on Sunday and Murray is a QB1 for Fantasy GMs.

3. LAC - RB Austin Ekeler to practice this week

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (hamstring) is set to return to practice for the first time this week since suffering a significant hamstring injury in Week 4, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for the Chargers best back here. It remains uncertain if Ekeler will play in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills. We'll see how Ekeler looks once he's out there and if the team wants to build his stamina for a week or so in practice. Upon his return, Ekeler has RB1 every-week starter potential for Fantasy GMs in PPR formats.

4. CIN - Update for Joe Burrow

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow's (knee) MRIs cast optimism Monday, Nov. 23. He has the torn ligaments and some cartilage damage, but he could be ready for Week 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good to have optimism but he has a long way to go before he's back. We'll know more about his status next summer. It is possible Burrow could be back in time for the 2021 season opener but that's a long ways off. We'll see.

5. SEA - RB Chris Carson back at work

Source: The Athletic - Michael-Shawn Dugar

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (foot) returned to practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foot injuries are difficult to predict, especially when we don't get a lot of information from teams. Carson was close to suiting up in Week 11 and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the big back would return in Week 12 against the Eagles. We'll take him for his word and monitor Carson's practice status as the week goes on.

6. NYJ - RB Josh Adams promoted

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

New York Jets RB Josh Adams was signed off the practice squad Tuesday, Nov. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams has playing experience from his time with the Eagles and he's your standard power back who makes a living between the tackles. With LaMical Perine down with a high-ankle sprain, the Jets needed more depth on the roster. Adams is the no.3 running back behind Frank Gore and Ty Johnson.

7. SEA - TE Greg Olsen out at least a month

Source: The Athletic - Michael-Shawn Dugar

Updating previous reports, Seattle Seahawks TE Greg Olsen (foot) has reportedly been given about a four- to six-week timetable to return from his torn plantar fascia, although the situation remains 'unclear for now,' according to comments made by head coach Pete Carroll on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seattle has put Olsen on Injured Reserve, forcing him from action for at least three weeks. However, with the severity of this injury and his age we might have seen the final snaps of Olsen's career. He has promised to return and finish on his terms but the NFL doesn't really allow that for some players.

8. TB - QB Tom Brady misfiring on deep throws

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady has not completed any of his last 22 pass attempts that traveled at least 20 yards in the air, according to Next Gen Stats.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brady had some of the best deep-ball accuracy in the league during his time with the Patriots. Things aren't coming together deep so far with the Buccaneers. We'll see if Brady can get better on those type of throws going forward or if the Buccaneers just start limiting how much he fires off throws 20 yards or more.

9. SEA - RB Rashaad Penny could practice next week

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee) has a chance to practice for the first time this season next week, according to comments made by head coach Pete Carroll on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Penny is the forgotten man in the Seattle backfield. A former first-round pick, Penny's pro career has been set back by injuries and inconsistencies. We're not going to get too excited about his return, especially if others like Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are healthy too.

10. DEN - LeVante Bellamy reinstated

Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos RB LeVante Bellamy was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 24. OT Jake Rodgers was waived to make room for him on the roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've got some appreciation for Bellamy in super deep dynasty formats. Undrafted out of Western Michigan this year, Bellamy's size and running style remind us of Broncos co-starter Phillip Lindsay. Obviously, that's a great comparison if he can play up to his potential if he ever gets a chance. Bellamy is the no.4 back on the roster behind Lindsay, Melvin Gordon and Royce Freeman.

11. NYJ - Three transactions for NY Jets

Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets PK Sam Ficken (groin) and RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 24. TE Ross Travis was also signed off the practice squad.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perine has a high-ankle sprain and those can linger if not given enough time to properly heal. The Jets activated Josh Adams from their practice squad in a corresponding move. Adams will try to find a spot in the backfield behind Frank Gore and Ty Johnson.
