1. NO - QB Drew Brees out indefinitely

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (ribs, lung) was diagnosed with a collapsed right lung as well as three rib fractures on his left side and two on his right side, according to a source. ESPN's Ed Werder notes 'it is uncertain' how much time Brees will be sidelined.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Saints are not going to rush Brees back as he deals with this serious injury. That means they'll turn things over to Jameis Winston while Brees recovers for a playoff run. Winston takes chances with the ball and looked shaky in relief duty on Sunday. Taysom Hill might get more work as a quarterback with Brees down as well.

2. MIA - RB Jordan Howard done in Miami

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Miami Dolphins RB Jordan Howard was waived Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard was unimpressive during his time with the Dolphins. He was mainly used as a goal-line back, finishing with 28 carries for 33 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Any team that wants to sign Howard will still have to pay him around $720k of his remaining 2020 salary. Salvon Ahmed will continue as the lead back for the Dolphins as they prepare to face a weak Broncos rush defense in Week 11.

3. NYJ - QB Sam Darnold to miss Week 11

Source: New York Post - Brian Costello

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 11 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Joe Flacco will draw another start in his absence.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Darnold was hopeful to return after the team's Week 10 bye but that's no longer the case. The Jets will continue to roll forward with veteran Joe Flacco as their starter while Darnold continues to recover.

4. CAR - QB Teddy Bridgewater has sprained MCL

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee in Week 10, and he's considered day to day.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bridgewater is considered day-to-day with this injury. He has yet to be ruled out of Week 11 against the Lions and we'll know more about his status later in the week. P.J. Walker and Will Grier are the other quarterbacks on the roster with Walker being the likely starter if Bridgewater needs to miss time.

5. NO - Sean Payton mum on Week 11 starting QB

Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton declined to announce Monday, Nov. 16, whether he intends to start Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill in place of the injured Drew Brees in Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston was ...well, Winston-like filling in for an injured Brees in Week 10. He's got more experience and would likely be the starter with Brees out of action for the foreseeable future. However, Hill might get the shot or at least get more snaps as a quarterback with Brees out.

6. CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey likely out again

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) is likely to miss Week 11, and the team is preparing for a multi-week absence.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffrey was hurt in Week 9 and had to miss the Week 10 contest on Sunday. If he's out for Week 11 and beyond, the team will continue to look to Mike Davis as their starter at the running back position.

7. DEN - QB Drew Lock iffy for Week 11

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock (ribs) has 'a chance' to miss the team's Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins, according to comments made by head coach Vic Fangio on Monday, Nov. 16. Fangio is holding out hope, however, and told reporters Lock has the type of injury that can improve over the course of a week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lock is clearly not himself out there as he looks like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. The ribs injury was bothering him on Sunday when he threw a career-high four interceptions. We'll monitor his status during the week, but expect Brett Rypien to get the start against the Dolphins in Week 11 if Lock can't go.

8. DET - QB Matthew Stafford should be OK

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) had X-rays, which were negative, on his thumb, and he's not expected to miss time.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll watch Stafford's status during the week of practice. He's likely to get some rest on Wednesday, be limited on Thursday and then practice fully on Friday. That should be the way it goes as the Lions prepare for their Week 11 game against the Panthers.

9. ATL - WR Calvin Ridley works on side Monday

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - Jason Butt

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (foot) was seen working with the training staff on the side Monday, Nov. 16. Interim head coach Raheem Morris told reporters after practice that he expects to know more about Ridley's availability on Wednesday, Nov. 18, when the plan is to have the receiver get some work in individual drills.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley missed the Week 9 contest against the Broncos and had the Week 10 bye to continue his recovery. Olamide Zaccheaus was a primary beneficiary of Ridley's absence last time out and might get more work if Ridley has to miss more time. Stay tuned to Ridley's practice reports later in the week.

10. PHI - TE Zach Ertz getting closer to return?

Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (ankle) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz now has a 21-day practice window to get back in action. We'll see how quickly he can get back out there for the team, but Fantasy GMs shouldn't get too excited here. Ertz doesn't look like he used to and was not doing much before this ankle injury took him down. The Eagles will use Dallas Goedert and Ertz in tandem if/when Ertz is cleared to return.

11. SEA - WR Tyler Lockett has minor knee sprain

Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (knee) is nursing a 'bit of a knee sprain,' according to head coach Pete Carroll, who told reporters Monday, Nov. 16, that 'it's not a serious knee injury.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A bit of a knee sprain could keep Lockett limited in practice. In fact, don't be surprised if he misses a day or two this week. Watch for his practice status on Friday, and we'll have more information by then about the severity of this supposedly 'non-serious' knee injury.

12. KC - Kansas City extends brain trust

Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach signed contract extensions Monday, Nov. 16. Terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs have a winning combination with Reid running the show on the coaching side and Veach running the show on the scouting side. With OC Eric Bieniemy likely moving on to a head-coaching gig this offseason, the Chiefs wanted to wrap up Reid for more years.

13. NE - Jacob Dolegala headed to New England

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Free-agent QB Jake Dolegala was added to the practice squad of the New England Patriots on Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Undrafted out of Central Connecticut in 2019, Dolegala was first with the Bengals coming into the league but has been with the Patriots since September...bouncing on and off the practice squad. He's a tall and has a live arm...a skill set that earned him a spot on the Bengals 53-man roster out of training camp after a good preseason back in 2019. We'll monitor him but only in crazy deep dynasty formats.

14. WAS - Injured Reserve stint for QB Kyle Allen

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Washington Football Team QB Kyle Allen (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move is just procedural as Allen is undergoing season-ending ankle surgery. Alex Smith continues as the starter with Allen done for the year, and 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins will continue to back him up.

15. CAR - Tommy Stevens catches on with Carolina

Source: The Athletic - Joe Person

Free-agent QB Tommy Stevens was added to the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers on Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stevens was an oft-injured quarterback during his time in college at Penn State and Mississippi State. The Saints added him as a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft and moved him to tight end during training camp. The Saints released him about a week ago and now he'll get a shot with the Panthers -- at this time it seems like it will be at quarterback but another position switch could be in the cards for the athletic and versatile player.

16. DEN - TE Jordan Leggett catches on with Denver

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Free-agent TE Jordan Leggett was added to the practice squad of the Denver Broncos on Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos have had numerous injuries at the tight end position this year. Albert Okwuegbunam is done for the year and Jake Butt is on Injured Reserve. Starter Noah Fant is playing banged up, so the team decided to get some depth with Leggett. He's big and athletic but hasn't done much during his pro career.

17. TEN - Darrynton Evans inching closer to return

Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans RB Darrynton Evans (hamstring) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Evans will try to work his way into the mix behind Derrick Henry. The team already has Jeremy McNichols and D'Onta Foreman behind Henry, so the rookie Evans has his work cut out for him if he wants a role.

18. LVR - RB Jalen Richard dealing with chest bruise

Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez

Las Vegas Raiders RB Jalen Richard (chest) was diagnosed with a bruised sternum Monday, Nov. 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Richard was banged up against the Broncos which gave way to more Devontae Booker. The Raiders have found a nice backup in Booker, who was a bust with the Broncos. We should continue to see Booker as that backup behind starter Josh Jacobs going forward.
