1. MIA - Tua Tagovailoa taking the reins

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was named starting quarterback in Week 8 after the team's bye this week.

We all knew this day would come...the timing is just interesting. Tagovailoa has the upside to be a franchise quarterback -- something the Dolphins have not had since the days of Dan Marino. They have a bye in Week 7 to give the rookie first-round pick more time to get ready to go. Fantasy GMs in 2-QB leagues or superflex formats should be adding Tagovailoa on the waiver wire this week.

2. MIA - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick relegated to bench

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will be replaced as starter after the Week 7 bye by QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Fitzpatrick has done his job and the team is ready to move on. This was the team's plan all along, it just comes as a bit of a surprise as Fitzpatrick has mostly played well this season and the Dolphins are 3-3 heading into their Week 7 bye.

3. BAL - High-ankle sprain for RB Mark Ingram

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating previous stories, Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram (ankle) was diagnosed with a mid- to high-ankle sprain Tuesday, Oct. 20, following an MRI.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs can feel comfortable moving on from Ingram for better help on the waiver wire. Ingram's injury isn't believed to be serious, according to this report, and he could be available to play following the Ravens' Week 7 bye.

4. CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey unlikely for Week 7

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (ankle) isn't expected to play in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, but he 'has a shot' to play in Week 8 versus the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo.

The Panthers don't really know when McCaffrey will be back. He's getting closer and we should have a better idea about his status next week.

5. KC - More on Le'Veon Bell's deal

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs RB Le'Veon Bell will receive $500,000 for 25 percent playing time in an AFC title win and $500,000 for 25 percent playing time in a Super Bowl win.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell gets to debut with his new team in Week 7 on the road against the Broncos. We'll see how much they use him in his first game and how much Bell contributes as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Bell should split time in the backfield going forward.

6. CIN - WR John Ross asked for trade

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross approached the team about a trade. Ross is in the last year of his rookie deal and seeking a fresh start.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things just haven't gone well for Ross in Cincinnati. He's been hurt most of his pro career having played just 26 games in four years. Ross has been sick (illness in Week 5) or a healthy scratch for all but three games in 2020. He did play in Week 6 but only got on the field for one snap. We'll see if Ross gets traded away but the Bengals likely won't get much in return.

7. PIT - WR Diontae Johnson healed up

Source: DKPittsburghSports.com - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (back) will practice Wednesday, Oct. 21.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson should be back in action for the Steelers in the near future. Check his status on Friday to see if he's going to play in Week 7. Also, make sure to drop projections for James Washington if Johnson is cleared to play. It's a battle of the undefeated as the Steelers travel to take on the Titans this Sunday.

8. NYG - WR Sterling Shepard on his way back

Source: NFLCommunications.com

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (toe) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Giants head coach Joe Judge has previously stated that Shepard will likely be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Eagles. We'll see him limited at best in practice on this short week.
