1. MIN - RB Dalvin Cook expected to be fine

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (groin) is expected to be fine after suffering a groin injury during the Week 5 game, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings bye in Week 7 and Cook is the most important player in their offense, so they could be cautious with him with Atlanta up next week. Alexander Mattison's waiver wire value takes a hit on this news, but he is still a priority pickup with Cook breaking the injury seal this early in the season.

2. NYJ - QB Sam Darnold uncertain for Week 6

Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's (shoulder) status for Week 6 will not be known until later in the week, according to head coach Adam Gase.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The value of Jamison Crowder and Le'Veon Bell isn't greatly changed whether it's Joe Flacco or Sam Darnold, and Miami's defense is worth a look as a streamer either way. Darnold will push to play, but the team will be very cautious with their young starter.

3. NO - WR Michael Thomas disciplined

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) won't play in Week 5 due to team discipline after he allegedly punched CB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas was close to returning this week and could have played on Monday night. Instead, he'll be watching his teammates play again and waiting for his opportunity to get back on the field.

4. ATL - Raheem Morris the interim coach

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was named interim head coach Monday, Oct. 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Morris was head coach of the Buccaneers from 2009-2011 and finished with a 17-31 record. He's been an assistant head coach with the Falcons for years and now gets a chance to prove that he's ready for another head coaching gig. We'll see how the Falcons respond now that a move has been made and Dan Quinn was fired.

5. CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey unlikely to go in Week 6?

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (ankle) is technically eligible to come off the Reserve/Injured list this week, but The Associated Press' Steve Reed believes there is very little chance he will be ready to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 6.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers are on a winning streak without McCaffrey which is an amazing feat. The team won't rush their superstar running back as he continues to heal from this ankle injury. Mike Davis will continue as their lead back while McCaffrey is out.

6. IND - QB Philip Rivers not in danger of losing job

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Jim Ayello

Indianapolis Colts QB Philip Rivers will remain the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future, according to comments made by head coach Frank Reich on Monday, Oct. 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Another game or two like the one in Week 5, and Reich might be singing a different tune. Rivers made unforced errors that were the difference in the game against the Browns.

7. KC - WR Sammy Watkins likely to miss multiple games

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is expected to miss 'possibly a couple weeks' with the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 5 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson will get more opportunities in the passing game while Watkins is out. Both are what the heck flex plays with Hardman having more upside against the Bills next Monday night.

8. DAL - CeeDee Lamb enjoying fast start

Source: Pro Football Focus

Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb leads all rookies with 396 receiving yards out of the slot, 11 receptions of 15-plus yards and 20 first-down receptions, according to Pro Football Focus.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see what kind of connection Lamb has with QB Andy Dalton going forward. Signs are that Lamb can still pay off as a weekly starter for Fantasy GMs even though Dak Prescott is done for the year.

9. GB - WR Davante Adams practices Monday

Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams (hamstring) 'didn't appear to have any setbacks during the bye' and took part in practice Monday, Oct. 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's a good sign for Adams. The Packers had a bye in Week 5 and they take on the Buccaneers in Week 6. It looks like Adams could be back in action for the first time since suffering this hamstring injury in Week 2 against the Lions.

10. GB - Green Bay duo making progress

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Green Bay Packers LB Kamal Martin (knee) and WR Equanimeous St. Brown (knee) were designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

St. Brown has an excellent size/athleticism combination and could get some looks if he's healthy before Allen Lazard. Deep dynasty players should take notice. Martin was on track to start before his injury, which is worth noting in deep IDP leagues. He could take Ty Summers place, who is replacing Christian Kirksey.

11. JAX - TE Tyler Eifert dings shoulder in Week 5

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Tyler Eifert (shoulder) was diagnosed with a shoulder stinger following the team's Week 5 game with the Houston Texans. The team is reportedly optimistic he will not be forced to miss any games.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

James O'Shaughnessy would be in line to get more opportunities in the passing game if Eifert misses time with this injury, but it sounds like he might be okay for the matchup against Detroit.

12. HOU - ILB Benardrick McKinney's season comes to an end

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans LB Benardrick McKinney (shoulder) expected to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery in the near future, according to a source via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tyrell Adams played well after McKinney went out on Sunday. Dylan Cole could also pick up some extra snaps while McKinney is sidelined. McKinney is due 7 million next year and can be released with minimal cap pain, so he could be a restructure candidate.

13. CLE - Wyatt Teller week-to-week

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns OG Wyatt Teller (calf) was diagnosed with a strained calf Monday, Oct. 12, and is listed as week-to-week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Teller has been an improved performer for the excellent Browns offensive line. They'll miss him against the Steelers in the showdown this weekend.

14. CIN - DT D.J. Reader headed to IR

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Cincinnati Bengals DT D.J. Reader (quad) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 12. Free-agent DT Xavier Williams was signed to an undisclosed contract to take his spot on the roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals just got Geno Atkins back and now their run defense will take a big blow with the loss of Reader. Jonathan Taylor will get to take advantage of this next week.

15. JAX - Five moves for Jacksonville

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Jacksonville Jaguars DL Carl Davis was released Monday, Oct. 12. The Jaguars also elevated PK Jon Brown and DE Caraun Reid to the active roster, signed LB Jabaal Sheard to the practice squad and placed S Andrew Wingard (core) on the Reserve/Injured list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown is the Jags fourth kicker this year and we're only five weeks into the season.

16. WAS - QB Kyle Allen to remain starter

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Football Team QB Kyle Allen (arm) will resume as starter in Week 6 after he was taken out of the Week 5 game with an abundance of caution.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen was cleared to return to the game but the team kept backup Alex Smith in there instead. We'll see if Washington can find a spark with Allen under center.

17. NYG - OLB Lorenzo Carter done for the year

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

New York Giants LB Lorenzo Carter (Achilles) was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles Monday, Oct. 12, and will miss the remainder of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carter was one of the more talented players in a thin pass rush. They'll have even more trouble slowing down opposing offenses without Carter.

18. NYJ - WR Chris Hogan suffers high-ankle sprain

Source: The Athletic - Connor Hughes

New York Jets WR Chris Hogan (ankle) was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain Monday, Oct. 12. The team is running additional tests to determine if he sustained any further damage.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

High ankle sprains are known to take quite a bit of time to recover from. It's not like Fantasy GMs were hot after Hogan or anyone not named Jamison Crowder in the Jets passing attack.

19. CIN - DE Sam Hubbard to miss time

Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby

Cincinnati Bengals DE Sam Hubbard (elbow) may be sidelined for several weeks because of the elbow injury he suffered during the Week 5 game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals lost two key pieces of the strength of their defense - the line - and they were already a bottom half defense to begin with. This should get more snaps for Carlos Dunlap, who was recently demoted, and Carl Lawson, who has had the look of a breakout player at times this year.

20. KC - Kelechi Osemele may be out for season

Source: The Athletic - Nate Taylor

Kansas City Chiefs OG Kelechi Osemele (knees) may miss the rest of the 2020 season after suffering a torn tendon in both of his knees during the Week 5 game, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs had been enjoying solid play from Osemele in place of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who opted out of the 2020 season. Mike Remmers is a veteran and he's the next man up behind Osemele.
