1. DAL - QB Andy Dalton Signs One-Year Deal With Dallas

Source: ESPN.com - Adam Schefter

Former Bengals' QB Andy Dalton is signing a one-year deal worth up to $7 million that includes $3 million guaranteed with the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.

The QB carousel continues. Dalton grew up in Katy, TX and owns a home in Dallas, so he's no stranger around those parts.

2. CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky's option declined

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky will not have his fifth-year option picked up this offseason, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zero surprise here. Trubisky has failed to impress as a starter for the Bears from his rookie season in 2017. The Bears traded for Nick Foles to compete with Trubisky for the starting job this year. Trubisky is now set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

3. NE - Devin Asiasi an option to start?

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi may compete for the starting tight end job during training camp depending on how well he picks up the offense this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He might be the front-runner for the top spot. Asiasi is a good all-around tight end, a 'Y' tight end in NFL lingo. He's not a supreme playmaker but he's consistent and knows how to get open.

4. CIN - No option for WR John Ross

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross will not have his fifth-year option exercised this offseason, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. It's been mostly downhill for Ross ever since he set the Combine record in the 40-yard dash. Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his game, so now he'll be set to hit free agency in 2021. When healthy, Ross is a deep threat with a nose for the big play...and the end zone. It will be interesting to see how he gels with QB Joe Burrow this season.

5. NE - Devin Asiasi a security blanket?

Source: NFL.com - Lance Zierlein

New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi is one draft analyst's favorite picks of the third round, and that analyst says Asiasi has the skills to 'attack all three levels of the field' and has the opportunity to become QB Jarrett Stidham's security blanket.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Asiasi is considered the front-runner to be the top target at the tight end position for the Patriots. He'll be competing with fellow rookie (and fellow third-round pick) Dalton Keene for that spot. Veterans Matt LaCosse and Ryan Izzo are there too. Asiasi was a 'Y' tight end in college at UCLA and he was a steady target. He's not a playmaker but instead gives his quarterback a big target who knows how to find room over the middle.

6. IND - Indy backfield timeshare foreseen

Source: NFL.com - Lance Zierlein

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor was one draft analyst's favorite picks of Round 2, and that analyst says Taylor's addition will allow the Colts to play 'bully ball' with Taylor and Marlon Mack sharing the load to wear down opposing defenses.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's clear the Colts wanted to upgrade the talent in the backfield and that's why they selected Taylor in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. Taylor is a powerful and intent runner who can grind down a defense. He has a no-nonsense style and a powerful gait which makes him tough to bring down when he builds a head of steam. Fantasy GMs are going to have to navigate this RBBC carefully. Taylor is the more talented back, but it's not like Mack is some scrub. He's good enough to cut into Taylor's touches this year. Add in Nyheim Hines as a receiving back and you can see how things are complicated from a fantasy perspective in this backfield.

FOOTBALLGUYS PICKS

Title Text - Detail. Pitch and link.

7. TB - Will QB Tom Brady top 4,100 yards?

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady's over/under total on his 2020 passing yards has been set at 4,099.5 by Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians loves to air out the football. This team is going to pass as much as possible in 2020 with Brady leading the way. They have great targets in the passing game like WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Add in three solid TEs (Rob Gronkowski, Cameron Brate, O.J. Howard) and you'll see why the number for Brady is projected to be over 4,000 yards. With his new team, Brady should be considered a QB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs.

8. PHI - Jalen Reagor fills a void for Philly

Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jalen Reagor was drafted to make the offense 'more explosive' after Philadelphia's quarterbacks averaged a league-low 6.46 yards per target when throwing to wide receivers in 2019, according to general manager Howie Roseman.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It was clear as day that the Eagles were going to take a WR in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. They needed help at the position in a bad way and that's what the rookie from TCU gives them. Reagor has plenty of quickness and speed to his game, plus he has incredible 'my ball' mentality. He should be in line for a large role right from the jump for the Eagles. That role and his talent make him at least WR3/flex worth for Fantasy GMs if he performs up to expectations in 2020.

9. MIN - RB Dalvin Cook poised for big deal?

Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook has become the 'face of the franchise' and is 'next in line' for a big contract extension, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds about right. The Vikings didn't do anything to change the backfield in the 2020 NFL draft, so Cook remains as the clear-cut RB1 who should get a large workload. He may not get a deal that pays him as much as Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey, but Cook should still end up as one of the highest paid players in the league at his position. Cook and the Vikings should get something done before the start of the regular season.

10. DET - Jason Huntley to have a role?

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Jason Huntley's speed will be an asset to the running game, according to general manager Bob Quinn. 'Huntley will be our smallest guy, but he's extremely fast,' Quinn said. 'So I'm very confident that we'll find a role for him.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Huntley is a clear scatback who can make plays in space with agility and elusiveness. He had 87 receptions over the last two seasons in college and also has multiple returns for touchdowns during his college career. Huntley should work as a change-of-pace back for the Lions. We think fellow rookie D'Andre Swift wins the top spot on the depth chart over Kerryon Johnson. Huntley will play a role no matter who is the primary ball-carrier in Detroit.

11. WAS - Antonio Gibson expected to be RB

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins WR Antonio Gibson will be utilized more as a running back than a receiver in the NFL, according to John Keim of ESPN.com.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gibson is a running back but he could line up out wide or in the slot as a receiver if need be. He had more receptions last year than rushes, but he projects best as a play-making running back at the pro level. We're excited about his potential in the pros because of his incredible versatility. We'll see if Washington is creative enough to get the most out of his unique skill set.

12. CLE - Early role for Donovan Peoples-Jones?

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Ellis L. Williams

Cleveland Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones could contribute 'immediately' as a kick returner and gunner on special teams, in the opinion of Ellis L. Williams of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peoples-Jones might be one of those players who is a better pro player than he was in college. He never had a 100-yard game in 37 career contests for Michigan. Peoples-Jones was a bit of an underachiever in college but has a physical skill set that could allow him to make plays in the NFL. We'll see what kind of role develops for him at the WR position like Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry.
