Howdy Folks,

Good Saturday to you. The biggest drafting weekend of the year is upon us and we have your back. We've got brand new updates on the site of all our most popular drafting features. I almost feel bad with you folks having this much advantage over the other GMs in your league. But it's not stopping me from sharing.

Sit back, dive in, and go crush your draft.

And this weekend is also the always Super Popular Footballguys Player's Championship Draft-A-Thon. Spots are filling fast but there are some leagues still open as of Thursday night.

We always pick a good cause to support with the Draft-A-Thon. This year $50 from every league will go straight to the Harbor House Domestic Abuse Shelter . The Harbor House is an organization committed to aiding victims of domestic abuse in Appleton, WI. They house women and children in need and provide them with support, safety, and advocacy. We have personal experience with this organization and vouch for them. They're doing incredible and important work. You can help support them and play Fantasy Football at the same time.

Love that.

Let's get to it.

1. TB - RB Dare Ogunbowale released

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Dare Ogunbowale was released Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The addition of Leonard Fournette was the writing on the wall for Ogunbowale. He's added weight and was feeling good in camp. Now, he'll have to wait for his opportunity perhaps with another team.

2. JAX - RB Ryquell Armstead on COVID list

Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the second time that Armstead has landed on the COVID list this summer. He was in line to get more work with the team moving on from Leonard Fournette. Instead, Armstead has battled a groin injury and has been on the COVID list twice. Devine Ozigbo may be the Jaguars lead back to start the season with Chris Thompson working as the team's change-of-pace back.

3. WAS - RB Adrian Peterson released

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero

Washington Football Team RB Adrian Peterson was released Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A bit of a surprise here. Washington has a jam-packed backfield but Peterson was having a solid camp and he's a seasoned veteran who can still be productive as a runner. The move saves the team close to $2.5 million against the cap. Peterson will get plenty of interest on the open market and Washington moves forward with Antonio Gibson, Bryce Love, Peyton Barber and J.D. McKissic.

4. WAS - Antonio Gibson impressing coach

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Washington Football Team RB Antonio Gibson on Friday, Sept. 4, topped the list of players head coach Ron Rivera said he felt 'excited' about, helping lead to the release of former starter Adrian Peterson. 'It's not about what he didn't do,' Rivera said Friday of Peterson. 'It's about what these other guys were doing for us and allows us to go in the direction we feel good about.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gibson is an impressive player who can make big plays happen as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. He's also versatile enough to line up in the slot, run routes and hurt a defense that way as well. With Adrian Peterson being released, Gibson is in line for a starting role with Washington.

5. NFL - RB Adrian Peterson receiving interest

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio

Free agent RB Adrian Peterson has received interest from a 'couple of teams' hours after being released by the Washington Football Team on Friday, Sept. 4, according to a league source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Peterson was a steady presence in the Washington backfield and he was having a solid camp. Some team will pick him up, perhaps even before Week 1 as a reserve/veteran depth.

6. CLE - RB Nick Chubb not worried about touches

Source: The Associated Press - Tom Withers

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb said Thursday, Sept. 3, that his top priority is helping the team win and not how many touches he gets. 'I am ready for whatever happens,' Chubb said in a Zoom media interview. 'I am ready for the team. ... We do have a lot of playmakers on the field. Hopefully we can utilize everyone the right way and make teams have to choose one or another. That will definitely help us out.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs are worried about touches for Chubb. Kareem Hunt is a talented backup and will get his fair share of work in the Browns backfield. However, Chubb is the lead back and should produce enough to be a low-end RB1 for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

Source: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson

Los Angeles Rams CB Adonis Alexander, LB Daniel Bituli, TE Kendall Blanton, C Cohl Cabral, OG Jamil Demby, WR Earnest Edwards, S Jake Gervase, PK Lirim Hajrullahu, S Juju Hughes, RB John Kelly, OG Jeremiah Kolone, WR JJ Koski, CB Dayan Lake, PK Austin MacGinnis, S Tyrique McGhee, LB Derrick Moncrief and WR Easop Winston were waived Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams drafted Kelly in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He came out of the University of Tennessee after following in Alvin Kamara's footsteps for the Volunteers. Kelly has not been able to latch on much or impress during his time with the Rams. He's a naturally talented runner who might be bound for a practice squad either with the Rams or somewhere else.

8. BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore works out

Source: SI.com - Albert Breer

Free-agent TE Crockett Gillmore (Ravens) worked out for the Baltimore Ravens Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gillmore was a third-round pick for the Ravens coming out of Colorado State in the 2014 NFL draft. He racked up 51 catches in three seasons with the Ravens before injuries slowed him down. Gillmore did try a move to the offensive line to no avail. We'll see if the team picks him up again, and whether or not he's playing tight end or O-line.

Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Free-agent WR Devin Smith (Cowboys) is visiting the Green Bay Packers Friday, Sept. 4.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers are likely just updating their emergency list. They have a bunch of mostly unproven wide receivers behind Davante Adams in the wide receiver room. Smith has a ton of speed but struggles to stay healthy.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Nathan Peterman restructured his contract Friday, Sept. 4, to a one-year, $1 million deal that is fully guaranteed. He previously had a $2.133 million deal that was not guaranteed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Raiders like Peterman, Jon Gruden does specifically, and they see him as a developmental quarterback. He's the third-string quarterback behind Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota.

Arizona Cardinals WR Hakeem Butler, DT Miles Brown and OG Sam Jones were released Friday, Sept. 4. The team also waived OT Brett Toth (undisclosed) with an injury designation.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Butler was a stud receiver at Iowa State and the Cardinals selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft. He missed all of his rookie season on Injured Reserve with a broken finger. Butler was healthy now and has a 'ton of ability' according to Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Butler is now looking for a new team or a spot on the Cardinals practice squad.
