1. TB - RB Leonard Fournette has deal with Bucs

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous story, free-agent RB Leonard Fournette (Jaguars) has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source Wednesday, Sept. 2. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wow. Clearly, this is great news for Fournette but it's awful news for Ronald Jones who previously had a clear track on the RB1 job in Tampa. Tom Brady gets another weapon and the Buccaneers get even stronger.

2. NE - WR Mohamed Sanu to be released

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu will be cut, according to a source Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The move saves the team $6.5 million in cap space. Sanu was supposed to help them last year when the team traded for him but he was injured and didn't look good trying to play through his ankle issue. They are thin at wide receiver right now and might make a move to add better depth at the top of the depth chart before the start of the regular season.

3. NO - RB Alvin Kamara had injection

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (back) received an injection to calm inflammation in his SI joint, and the team doesn't consider the injury a big deal.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This had been previously reported as an epidural which is usually more serious. Good news for Kamara to hear it was a less serious treatment.

4. WAS - QB Dwayne Haskins named starting QB

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Football Team QB Dwayne Haskins will be the team's starting quarterback this season, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has to see what Haskins has as a starter. Even though the last regime drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, Haskins could be the franchise quarterback for Rivera and company. We'll see what he can do as the starter, but he's not guaranteed the job for the entire season. If he struggles, the team could turn to Alex Smith or Kyle Allen. Haskins is mostly a low-end QB2 or QB3 for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

5. NO - RB Alvin Kamara returns to practice

Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill

Updating an ongoing story, New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (back) returned to practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He hasn't practiced in days since receiving an epidural shot to his back last week. Kamara is in the middle of contract negotiations and things are getting close. This means he should get top-3 running back money and Kamara should be ready to roar in Week 1 of the regular season.

6. LAC - QB Tyrod Taylor will be Week 1 starter

Source: NFL Network - Omar Ruiz

Los Angeles Chargers QB Tyrod Taylor will enter the season as the team's starting quarterback.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Justin Herbert was the team's first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft and he's the franchise quarterback of the future. He's not ready yet and the Chargers can win a lot of games with Taylor. He's got some fantasy value as well because of his rushing ability and the skill players around him in the passing game. Taylor is a QB2 for Fantasy GMs while he's got the job.

7. PHI - QB Carson Wentz sits again

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 2, because of a lower body injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's considered day-to-day with a soft-tissue injury. It's not considered serious and Wentz should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

8. LAR - WR Cooper Kupp to sit Wednesday

Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (leg) will not participate in pactice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rams coach Sean McVay has described this injury as 'ankle soreness' and reports around the team speculate that Kupp will be active for Week 1 preparation. Kupp is a WR2 in PPR formats, so keep an eye on this situation to see if he can get back out there next week.

9. WAS - No practice for Antonio Gandy-Golden

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dontrelle Inman appears to have overtaken Gandy-Golden on the depth chart and has been seen playing with Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims in three-wide receiver sets in recent practices. Gandy-Golden has upside for dynasty GMs but in re-draft leagues he's unlikely to be much of a factor in this limited passing game.

10. SF - TE George Kittle returns to practice

Source: San Jose Mercury News - Cam Inman

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The 49ers will bring Kittle along cautiously as the regular season draws near. With so many injuries at the WR position, Kittle is more important than ever to their passing game.

11. TB - Two Bucs WRs competing for No. 3 job

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Scott Miller and Justin Watson have been competing for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp, and head coach Bruce Arians said both players have performed well during camp. Arians said the No. 3 receiver will depend on the personnel grouping during games.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No matter who wins the no.3 job there will not be much fantasy value in that position. The Bucs have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as their top two targets, then throw in the three tight ends on the roster (Rob Gronkowski, O.J. Howard, Cameron Brate) and a back out of the backfield like Ronald Jones and you can see how there's not much there for Miller or Watson.

12. BUF - Limited practice for WR Stefon Diggs

Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (back) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Diggs is going to be limited with this back injury as the team doesn't want him to aggravate the injury. He will be eased into action with Week 1 right around the corner.

13. DET - D'Onta Foreman to try out for Detroit

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Colts) will try out for the Detroit Lions.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foreman is a big power back who has struggled to stay healthy as a pro. The Lions have Kerryon Johnson and rookie D'Andre Swift as the top two backs on the depth chart. We'll see if they want Foreman to compete for a reserve spot.

14. MIA - WR DeVante Parker should be ready for opener

Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (undisclosed) should be ready for the start of the regular season even though he has missed practice over the last week, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker is the no.1 receiver for the Dolphins and will be a favorite target in 2020 no matter if Ryan Fitzpatrick or Tua Tagovailoa is tossing the rock. Fantasy GMs are taking him at WR28 (6.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.
