E. Wisdom Of The Crowds Rankings
I've said for years there's no smarter group of Fantasy Football people than Footballguys Subscribers. And there are a LOT of you. We're up to almost half a million subscribers for the Daily Email Update and that number will continue to go up through August.
Anytime you have that many people coupled with the kind of football knowledge you folks have, there are some powerful opportunities.
This Wisdom Of The Crowds Rankings is one of those things.
The idea is simple. We throw up two players and you click on the one you'd prefer to draft. That's it. You'll then see the results for both your vote compared to other people in the Footballguys Community. And also how it compares to our Footballguys Staff Experts.
All the while, behind the scenes our Mathguys are taking all the other votes pouring in to create a complete list for how we rank all the players at that position. Which you can see too if you're logged in at Footballguys.
It's pretty rad and we're super excited about it. Check it out and let us know what you think.

1. CHI - Chicago will not name QB before opener

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles have been competing for the starting quarterback job during training camp, and head coach Matt Nagy said he will not name the starting quarterback before the start of the regular season.

Fantasy GMs aren't dialed in on this situation for good reason. Instead, we are all focused on WR Allen Robinson. He's such a good receiver that he can perform no matter who is tossing him the rock. Robinson has a current ADP of WR10 (3.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

2. IND - TE Trey Burton out with calf strain

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Indianapolis Colts TE Trey Burton (calf) will miss some time with a calf strain, according to a source, who added the injury is not as serious as initially expected.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Burton has been getting some buzz in deep leagues because he's reunited with Frank Reich this year. He had intriguing upside with the Eagles but failed to stay healthy or impress during his time with the Bears. Injuries have been a big issue for Burton in recent years and this calf injury is just another in a long line of problems. Jack Doyle is the Colts lead tight end and a TE2 for Fantasy GMs.

3. NYJ - Denzel Mims not on field

Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Denzel Mims (hamstring) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mims has a nice size/speed combination when healthy. He had great 'my ball' mentality in college and should carry that over to the pros...when he's healthy and on the field. The rookie is looking to establish a spot on the pecking order behind Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman.

4. WAS - WR Dontrelle Inman making move

Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay

Washington Football Team WR Dontrelle Inman appears to have overtaken rookie WR Antonio Gandy-Golden on the depth chart and has been seen playing with Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims in three-wide receiver sets in recent practices. 'Dontrelle's been a welcome addition,' head coach Ron Rivera said Saturday, Aug. 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gandy-Golden has size, he has talent but he's a raw prospect and facing a big jump in competition going from Liberty to the NFL. Inman is a savvy veteran who can pluck the ball. He's got the advantage now but if Gandy-Golden plays like he can then he'll overtake him at some time.

5. HOU - WR Keke Coutee back at practice

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee (foot) participated in practice Saturday, Aug. 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coutee is one of those players we all know has talent but he's one of the most oft-injured wide receivers in the league. We'll see if he can stay healthy and impress.

6. MIA - ILB Raekwon McMillan dealt to Vegas

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Miami Dolphins have traded LB Raekwon McMillan and a fifth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft to the Las Vegas Raiders, in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McMillan was a second-round pick for the Dolphins out of Ohio State in the 2017 NFL draft. He missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury then struggled in 2018. McMillan played better as a run-stuffer in 2019 but his season ended in December due to a hamstring injury. He is in the final year of his rookie contract and the Dolphins obviously did not have him in their long-term plans.

Source: Sun-Sentinel - Safid Deen

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (undisclosed) did not participate in the team's scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if the veteran can get back out there for whatever reason is holding him out at this time. Parker is going to be the lead receiver for the Dolphins has has WR2 potential for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

8. WAS - Antonio Gandy-Golden dealing with injury

Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (undisclosed) sat out practice Saturday, Aug. 29, as he deals with an undisclosed injury suffered Friday. Washington head coach Ron Rivera said Gandy-Golden's injury isn't serious.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gandy-Golden has size and the ability to high-point passes above defenders. He needs to work on beating press coverage but the kid can win after the catch with strength. We're excited to monitor his progress as a pro in dynasty formats.

9. NYJ - WR Breshad Perriman remains sidelined

Source: Around The NFL

New York Jets WR Breshad Perriman (knee) remained out of practice Saturday, Aug. 29, as he deals with a swollen knee.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets added Perriman this offseason in free agency to bring more speed to the wide receiver position. He finally stayed healthy and produced with the Buccaneers last year after disappointing for years (due to injury) with the Ravens. Now that he's banged up again, the Jets are going to be super cautious with the veteran.

10. NYJ - NYJ expected to sign WR Donte Moncrief

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, the New York Jets plan to sign free-agent WR Donte Moncrief (Panthers) once he passes COVID-19 protocols, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets have a seriously banged up WR corps...mainly Breshad Perriman (knee) and rookie Denzel Mims (hamstring) who are two of their top three receivers. Moncrief has failed to impress and 2019 he struggled with limited duty for the Panthers and the Steelers. He won't be a lock for the final roster.

11. SEA - WR Paul Richardson re-signs with Seattle

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Free agent WR Paul Richardson (Washington Football Team) signed an undisclosed contract Saturday, Aug. 29, to return to the Seattle Seahawks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Richardson is back with the team that brought him into the league as a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. He can fly down the field but injuries have robbed him of the production many thought he could have coming out of the University of Colorado. With speedy veteran Phillip Dorsett battling a constant foot issue, Richardson has a chance to win the no.3 job for the Seahawks behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

12. NFL - Several AFC North clubs interested in DE Jadeveon Clowney?

Source: Pro Football Network - Tony Pauline

The Baltimore Ravens have interest in free-agent DE Jadeveon Clowney (Seahawks), according to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline, who has heard from multiple league sources that they appear to be the favorite to sign him. The Pittsburgh Steelers could also have interest in Clowney if he's still available near the end of training camp, although they don't have much salary cap space available.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clowney would bring yet another ferocious defensive player to the Ravens defense. The Steelers should be interested for the same reason but also to block him from going to their division rival (and a true Super Bowl contender). Clowney has had interest across the league and with the season approaching he could sign in the near future.
