1. TB - RB LeSean McCoy catches on with TB

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent RB LeSean McCoy (Chiefs) reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy gets a chance with another Super Bowl contender. The veteran back was with the Chiefs last year but he was a healthy scratch as that team won a championship. The Buccaneers do not have the talent at the RB position that the Chiefs do. McCoy is going to compete with guys like Ronald Jones and rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn for playing time in 2020.

2. TB - RB LeSean McCoy financials

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous story, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB LeSean McCoy's one-year deal is worth just over $1 million, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy was not used by the Chiefs down the stretch last year as they made a run at the Super Bowl. Now, he'll get the chance to be a larger part as the Buccaneers are clearly in a Super Bowl window themselves.

3. LVR - Henry Ruggs fully recovered

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Scott Bair

Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III (thigh) said he has fully recovered from the thigh injury he suffered during the offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ruggs is going to be the no.1 receiver for the Raiders this year, at least that's the plan. He's got speed, speed and more speed and should play like the Raiders version of Tyreek Hill. Now, Ruggs is a rookie and will struggle at times so Fantasy GMs should look at him as a flex play with upside in 2020. His current ADP is WR44 (10.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.

4. BAL - WR Marquise Brown in for huge jump?

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Clifton Brown

Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown is in line for a huge jump in 2020, according to quarterback Lamar Jackson. Brown has bulked up after an injury-riddled rookie season. 'I feel like he's going to have a huge jump, more than people may think,' Jackson said. 'He was hurt last year, people didn't know that, but he went out there and battled his tail off each and every game on a messed up foot. Now his full potential is going to show this year I feel. He's still young, but he's going to show off. My job is to get the ball out quicker, because he's a lot faster with that foot 100 percent.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As a rookie in 2019, Brown flashed in about three games and mostly disappointed in the rest. Brown erupted in Week 1 for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. After catching 8 passes for 86 yards in Week 2, Brown never approached those numbers again but did add another multi-touchdown game in Week 12. He's a WR3 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

5. CLE - WR Jarvis Landry on track for opener

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) is on track for the start of the regular season, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Landry is scheduled to undergo his physical later this week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things are looking up for the Browns this year. The team wants to bounce back in 2020 and they've spent a lot of resources to build up the offensive line better. That means better things for QB Baker Mayfield which obviously has a trickle-down effect to guys like Landry. Fantasy GMs know what to expect from the veteran wideout. He's a WR2/flex play in PPR leagues who can be a plug-and-play every week starter.

6. BAL - Baltimore not ruling out WR Antonio Brown

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Patriots) is a player the Baltimore Ravens are willing to consider, but he is dealing with off-field issues at this point, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The league has to make a decision on Browns availability. Once the legal stuff is dealt with and the league says he can play, Brown should latch on with a team quickly. He's caught passes from QB Lamar Jackson this offseason and the superstar quarterback has pushed for Brown to be added. We'll see if the Ravens get the deal done...if/when Brown is cleared to play.

7. NYJ - QB Joe Flacco to PUP list

Source: NFLCommunications.com

New York Jets QB Joe Flacco (neck) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was expected when the Jets signed Flacco. His status for the start of the regular season is unknown as he continues to recover from his neck surgery. If need be, Flacco could be placed on the PUP at the start of the regular season which would cause him to be out for the first six weeks.

8. NFL - RB Matt Jones garnering interest

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Free-agent RB Matt Jones (XFL) has been in contact with teams and has garnered interest.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A third-round pick (Washington) in the 2015 NFL draft, Jones was a banger at Florida and that's what he was in the pros. The last time he was in the NFL was when he was trying to make the Eagles 53-man roster in the 2018 preseason. We'll see if some team wants to pick up the big-bodied veteran back.

9. SF - Jeff Wilson Jr. goes on reserve

Source: NFLCommunications.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilson is going to have to pass testing once he's allowed to come back to the facility. He's competing for a spot in the 49ers RBBC and is near the bottom of the RB depth chart, even though we've seen Wilson flash talent in his pro career.

10. GB - John Lovett awarded to Green Bay

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Kansas City Chiefs QB John Lovett was awarded to the Green Bay Packers off of waivers Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lovett is an interesting prospect. He's got 'QB' next to his name, but he can also be listed as a FB, H-back, etc. Lovett was actually thought to be the Chiefs version of Taysom Hill. They at least wanted to see if he could be a gadget quarterback like Hill has been for the Saints. Now, we'll see if the Packers want to use him that way.

11. PIT - Chase Claypool worked out with QB

Source: ESPN - Brooke Pryor

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Chase Claypool said he was able to catch some passes from QB Ben Roethlisberger this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the rookie here, and Fantasy GMs in dynasty leagues are certainly intrigued by the Notre Dame wideout. Claypool is a size/speed/strength prospect who lacks polish to his game. He does attack the ball in the air and uses his catch radius to snare passes that others couldn't. Claypool will work on special teams and as a reserve receiver for the Steelers in 2020.

12. LVR - RB Devontae Booker hits COVID list

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Updating a previous story, Las Vegas Raiders RB Devontae Booker was placed on the COVID-19 list Thursday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Booker is a good receiving back but has barely seen the field recently in his pro career. When cleared to practice, Booker is trying to earn a spot on the Raiders as a reserve behind starter Josh Jacobs.

13. NE - Brian Lewerke officially back in tow

Source: NFLCommunications.com

Updating a previous story, free-agent QB Brian Lewerke (Patriots) officially re-signed with the New England Patriots Thursday, July 30. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lewerke is a camp arm for the Patriots. He put up a lot of yards at Michigan State but does not seem like he's bound for NFL success based on his skill set. We'll see if he can impress enough behind Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham to perhaps earn a spot on the practice squad.

14. NE - Brian Lewerke expected to rejoin team

Source: NESN.com - Doug Kyed

Free-agent QB Brian Lewerke (Patriots) is expected to re-sign with the New England Patriots, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lewerke is a camp arm and that's about it. The Patriots signed him as an undrafted free agent after the draft but then released him to get the roster down to 80 spots. At most, Lewerke is aiming for a spot on the practice squad in 2020.
